Hi Everyone,
We are launching a VOIP service and require a site design for it. We only require a PSD file with the files (no html or slicing required).
----------------------
THEME
----------------------
We like clean and easy to use sites that are user centric. Our goal is to have a professional look for our new site.
Our target customer is both male and female between 25-40. The majority are small business owners.
----------------------
SITE INFORMATION
----------------------
Main Colors:
Please use colours that compliment our logo but keep in mind our target market.
Site Name:
http://twistedmoose.com
Twisted Moose
Logo:
http://twistedmoose.com/images/tmlogo.jpg
Must haves:
It must have the menu at the top with these options:
Home
Services
Features
Support
About
Contact
The menu must be able to be the same on every page of the site.
It should incorporate our company logo. It should have a web 2.0 feel to it.
I want there to be one large image area which can be randomly changed to push whatever is new.
Below it there should be 2 columns:
Twisted Blog: (should have an RSS button)
What is Twisted Moose?
I like the layout they have at http://www.thefoundbin.com/ except with a menu below the header.
I would also to see a customer login at the top.
----------------------
MORE INFORMATION
----------------------
I like the feel of webshots (http://www.webshots.com/) site.
I like the like the feel of MediaTemples (http://www.mediatemple.net/) site.
I like the feel of the Domainpeoples (http://www.domainpeople.ca/) site.
----------------------
DEADLINE
----------------------
The deadline for this competition is 5/11/2007.
I look forward to working with all of you and good luck to those that participate.

A colour variation:

clink,
Thank you for the first 2 suggestions. Things seem to flow faster once someone posts.
For this design we prefer the colour scheme of your 2nd post. For the header can we have a repeating pattern something like this...
http://www.designersmind.com/
I really want a bold but professional looking header it can be black still or another colour if you feel it fits.
Also can we make the menu stand out more with a gradient bar.
Can we remove the outline of the logo.
For the body and footer can we have the colour closer to our logo colour.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll get onto the changes asap. I was a little confused about what you mean by a gradient bar though? The tabs are currently a gradient, would you prefer the same thing but with a bar instead of individual tabs? Thanks. :)

clink,
What I should have said is can we make the menu options a bit more visable.

Brian,
Thank you for the great entry. I do like the layout and colours. For the header can we use a pattern other then lines. In the right top corner can we remove the text sometimes twisted is good and put a login box. The big box below the header needs to be bigger and can we have a navigation added to it like at www.nhl.com where there is the BACK PAUSE FRW 1 2 3 4 5. The Twisted Blog side needs an RSS feed logo and will show excerpts from the blog so can you create a bullet for each new post.
clink,
That is more of what I had in mind. Can we see a few variations of a header pattern. Can we take out 24/7 Live Support, Terms and Conditions and Privacy and put in a login area. In the box below the header can we have a navigation added to it like at www.nhl.com where there is the BACK PAUSE FRW 1 2 3 4 5. Also can we have a more dramatic image in that box something like this http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/what/technology/computers/1031162_digital_golden_waves.php?id=1031162. Something really For the Twisted Blog can we add a RSS button and create a bullet for each new post.
Belladonna,
Great work so far. I think we want to see some changes to the liquid version. In the header can we replace the lines with a pattern. Think old vintage wall paper at 30-50% opacity. For the box below the header can we make the bottom 2 corners more rounded. Also I would like a more bold picture. I do like the orange colours used but want that area to stand out. In the box below the header can we have a navigation added to it like at www.nhl.com where there is the BACK PAUSE FRW 1 2 3 4 5. For the blog area can we see how it would like if it was just header titles leading to posts from the blog.

Everyone,
Sorry for the late feedback.
The owner so far has given me several other ideas. She would like several design ideas tried and is not sold on the web 2.0 look so far.
1. She would like to see something like this:
http://www.templatemonster.com/flash-templates/8277.html
The paper should be an old treasure map and the various landmarks would be the menu items.
2. Another idea she would like to see is a site made up all of RJ45 cables (http://www.comms-express.com/assets/own/rj45-unbooted-large.jpg). Using the same layout that is there now but making use of cables for the curves and lines.
I have provided feedback on the web 2.0 designs but if you could do one of the above please post that one. I will have to extend the deadline as we are not ready to pick one yet.
Belladonna,
Looking good. Can we take the top brown bar out and remove the login. I want to see what yours looks like w/o it.
Can we have the pattern visible from left to right on the header.
For the forward, back, 1,2,3,4 can we make it so it is to the lower right side so that is sort of separated.
The owner is not feeling the person you have picked can you try something else.
Brian,
Can we remove the login. We have changed our mind on this.
Can we make the buttons at the top and bottom smaller.
The pattern in the header needs to be more of a wallpaper pattern.
The big picture is not really appropriate can you try some others?
The navigation needs to be on the bottom right corner.
Fabian,
This is not really what we had in mind. If you have any other ideas please post.
Anne,
Let's work of version 2.
The pattern is not what I had in mind. Think wallpaper from the 70's.
I'm not sure I like the pink. Any other colours go well.
Let's take out the login as I think we have change our mind about it.
The laptop is not appropriate. For our solution you don't need a computer.
The navigation (forward, back, 1,2,3,4,5) need to be on the far right.
The book theme isn't working. Any other ideas.

Belladonna,
For the first one I don't really have any changes at this time.
For the second one I don't want any menu or images on it like the first one.
I'm thinking a map like this:
http://necrosis.org/party/treasure_map_colored.jpg
For the map can we have a compass like the map above has.
For the background can we have wood something like this:
http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/141601/2/istockphoto_141601_ancient_pirate_treasure_map.jpg
Also I want the paper to be more holes and burnt like the one above.
For the home landmark/button can we have huts.
For the contact us can we have a fire.
For the About us can we have it as a Y shaped palm tree.
For the Support can we have it as a skull cave.
For services can we have it as a Treasure chest.
For this one we will skip a features area.
I hope that is more clear. If not ask.
=====
Will,
I like this but the owner does not. I see your going with the RJ45 cables.
What I was thinking with that one is that each line would be made up of an RJ45 cable. So there would be one big one that would circle the entire content. Maybe one cable for the menu. 4 cables to make the boxes for the text.
Again I hope that makes sense.
