(Admin code added by Palmer - J9536124)

Hi my name is Dee and I am one of the owners of a Pet Sitting Company called Pawfessional Pet Care Inc.

To find out more about our Company Please feel free to check out our Website at www.inhomepetcare.com. The little dog and cat at the upper left hand corner is what we are currently using for our logo. I would like to totally overhaul our our image with a new and original look. This includes but is not limited to, business cards, Letterhead, Brochures, T-shirts as well as a possible Template for a new website design.

Here are the specifics on this contest. We are looking for a new logo full Color but could be used as line art for our yellow page ad and various other advertising medias if needed. I would love to still have a Cat and Dog in the artwork. The dog preference is a Bull Terrier (Like Spuds Mckenzie with a patch on one eye.) The cat I would love to have a white type persian with blue eyes. This may be to much white so please use your best judgment. I do like it to be cute but I am open to suggestions.

The amount of the contest is $150.00 and credit for our new image will be given to the artist on our new website as well as possible future projects. (New website Template?) The deadline for this contest will be October 1st 2003. Best wishes and can't wait to see your creations. :D

Hi Guys,

There has been a little bit of a muck up in the emails. I believe that Palmer would have received the confirmation email just before I set up the email account.

Unfortunately I can not add the admin code until Palmer drops by.

At this stage all I can say is if you would like to enter, you certainly can though I just can not guarantee that the money has been paid.

Dee - I am very sorry about this. The owner of the site is unavailable for a couple of days and there seems to have been a slight hickup with the email. Worst case scenario would be that the competition wont start for a couple of days. :)

Cre8or, I saw the wonderful polar Bear you had done for the Artic Breeze contest that type of animated style was what I was looking for in the animals. If we could add a Paw in the logo eihter the cat or dog showing theirs or in the Name that would be great. I am still concerned once we go to color that there will be to much white so I may have to scrub the white persian and go for another cat like a short hair orange Tabby to add more color. I can just have a white cat with blue eyes as one of their friends (I have a short hair white pink nose with ice blue eyes that is the Purrsident of the company) I do have to have the Bully as part of the Loggo or else I have three here that will gang up on me.
"D" :D

cre8or
09-11-2003, 01:48 PM
Suggestion:
A coloured bully (black or red?) Then, you can have the white persian.
Or... White bully, with an eyepatch and maybe a grey persian -- don't they come in a bluish-grey colour? (This, I'm not sure about).
Yet another... Do Persians come with marks like a Siamese? It could be like a Chocolate point, or something like that...

Anyways, thanks for the compliment on the bear logo.
Drawing a "cartoonish" bully might be more fun -- then I can try to capture their "sillyness".

Like I said, I'm on it. (Just slow to post).
:)

Dee
09-11-2003, 02:08 PM
Hey that was quick, I do like your idea. Instead of a persian lets go short hair like a siamese or orange striped.I do want to keep the logo Bully as white with a brown patch since we do already have an actual costume that is a bull terrier puppy (Called Hugga-Bull) I would have no objection to some Bully Friends for some of the other medias we are looking at and definately will need color for them.
I forgot to ask what the name of your fur baby is? :D
"D"

I do have to say you have th way they sit down pat

cre8or
09-11-2003, 05:17 PM
His call name is kinda lame: "Bully".
His registered name is more exciting: "Westbury's White Lightning".

Westbury Kennels is located in London, Ontario. Unfortunately, they're not breeding bullies anymore (Jayde, Bully's mom had difficulty with his litter -- 9 pups (she conceived on both matings!), 2 stillborn and Bully's smaller, weaker twin died at about 4 weeks.) They shared the title of "Runt", with his twin being the
"Runty-est).
She had one more litter of pups, bred to a brindle male,
then she was retired (fixed).
Now, they breed English Bulldogs. Nice animals, but way to much work. (In my opinion).

Julie, George loves number six so please hold to it. Wanted to try a couple of things. one could you make the bullys patch a medium brown? Instead of the Square could we try like a house shape (to represent in home pet care). The last thing was i wanted to see if you could do a couple of color variations of number six ( Your choice). Thank you for your time on this :D
"D"

Cre8or Thanks for the color I just wanted to George how you work in color to get a point across to him. was thinking maybe having them facing forward Holding their little paws up or having them walk or lay on the name. I am a big walt disney type person and that is what you illustrations remind me of. It is more than okay to work from sketches. (That is the only way I know how to draw) :D

Cre8or, I do love the use of the colors, but not quite what I am looking for. I am sorry. I do love the sketch that you had done With the bully with the mouth open. Maybe working with the lettering (kind of how you did with Artic breeze) we could Balance the browns out. If it is easier for you to work with sketches feel free, I was just trying to show george how you take a sketch to final, so he could see your style. I do have to say that I love the bullies in all of them.

I was wondering if we could take the name and make it color and have just the bull terrier bouncing on it. I am so sorry but your sketches are just wonderful I keep going back to the bull terrier and the siamese you had sketched and was wondering what that might look like if you postioned the drawing above the name so it would look like the cat is resting on it and do the lettering in color to detract or balance out the browns. 09-17-2003, 03:58 PM
Just to stick my nose in here a bit. Dee, you mentioned to Julie that you'd like to "see what it would look like with a liitle deeper blue and a goldenrod yellow." It's very important to understand that the colors you see on your monitor are not the same as the colors that will print. Julie is probably specifying PMS Spot colors (correct me if I'm wrong, Julie) and these simply do not translate accurately to RGB color which is what you see on your monitor. In fact, if you had two monitors side by side chances are they would look a little different on each.

Even if she's using CMYK color, the same warning is true. The two main printing processes (PMS and CMYK) are not the same as RBG.

*I'll go back into my little corner now*

Dee
09-17-2003, 04:16 PM
Elkootcho, Are you kidding :D Thank you for explaining that, I have been learning alot. I think I'll just have to keep having contests so that I'll have a reason to chat.

Hi, Dee--Thanks! I'm glad you're liking the direction these are going. I've added a chimney here and gone a bit darker with the blue, but on my monitor I'm about as goldenrod as I can go without making it orangy. (Thanks, ElKoocho, for the explanation! By the way, I am using PMS). And don't worry about the changes, that's what I'm here for.

Dee

Hello "D",
One more go at the Bully and Kitty.

Maybe not the simple (oh yeah... absolutely no offense there, simple just means: not complex :) I feel SO smart ;) )

Anyways, they might not be the simplistic designs you were looking for, but I tried.
Hope you find something you like in the litter of Bullies I've managed to post here.

Q. If you call a bunch of geese a gaggle, and a bunch or doves an exhaltation...
What do you call a bunch of Bullies?

Kimber, I love the top one with the bully and the kitty. Was wondering if we could try some different lettering/fonts. It is a little hard to read and want to give it a homey feel. Thank you for sharing your bully :D

Hi "D",
Here's the top bully and kitty again, with more clear text.

Kimber, sorry been working to hard walking my little guys. I really like the layout but george thinks that it is to long. He really liked the one where you had the name split with the crazy looking bully. Could we try that same style but with this bully and kitty. Or putting the name circular with them and maybe afew more animals in it. That is all I can think of.

Julie, Could I see what the logo would look like in line (Black and white) We do one color can lid covers and george cannot visualize what this would look like. I do not know if we are supposed to wait but I wanted to check and see that if yours is selected what format or program do you send this in? George had mentioned raster and vector but I have no clue what that means since the computer is not my area of expertise.

Here you go--I have a grayscale and BW version here. I am using Illustrator and am able to give you an eps file--fully vector. I also send a few other file types along with the final package, but you can always request something special and I can most likely get it to you.

Thanks!

Julie

Kimber, I really like the circular one  I do have to ask though I know the bully is an original and I believe the cat is as well but wanted to check about the bird as to wheter it is original or clip art. I hope that does not offend you, but after we decide we are going to need to redo our brochure and website both of which we would like to have various animated characters of the same style in different poses. Your website is a perfect example of how you have a constant theme with your bullies. Like when we talk about dog walking we may have the kitty walking some dogs (Bullies) or home security, have a bully in a police outfit. These are of course at additional fees. Our brochure we have various animals (all clip art but same artist) I really like your style and your characters. On the circular one is there a way to add little more color? Maybe a little blue. As usual I love the bully

I forgot to ask you and Julie but do ya'll do websites? Because we will need some one to design a new template. I have no doubt on biz cards, and brochures.

P.S. Glad you came back, I thought you may have given up on me :D

Julie, Thanks I really have a hard time trying to make George see what I am describing. I really appreciate all the hard work you and Kimber have done. I guess ya'll two must be the masters at doing this since no one even tried to compete with ya'll :D :D I really like the one logo you are doing for trendy tails. I think the poodle is much more effective than the ****zu when it comes to marketing high end dog stuff.

Hi "D".
The bird is all mine :) ... I originally designed it for another pet sitter, but it was never used.
Yes, I do websites. I am currently working on another character-themed website but unfortunately can't direct you to it, as it's not finished and I'm under NDA.
(This is why I've been a little absent).
Below is a look at the round logo with blue.

Please advise.

I was wondering where you had been hiding. I had not seen you post much on the forum. I love looking at all the remarkable creations. Love the dog with gas  Thank goodness you did not fade the background with green :lol2: Like I had said to Julie ya'll two must be masters on this site because I see alot don't compete when ya'll are doing your thing. George loves the layout and color with that the only thing he wanted to ask if we could try a couple of different fonts "easy to read but a little more stylish"
Can't wait to see the site I know it will be way cool

Hello "D"!
It wasn't supposed to look like gas <_< (Thanks, Palmer) ;)
Here's some text options for your "round" design. If you have any favourite fonts you might like to see, please let me know.
Regardless of the outcome here, I'll send you a link to that site, once it's finished.

Julie and Kimber I want to thank both of ya'll for working with us  You are both very gifted. This was a tough choice but George chose Julie's design as the winner. Kimber what I would like to do though is offer a second place of $100 for the last logo you submitted if that is alright with you. I really like that design so let me know what you think unless you want to hold on to it for future contests. Thank both of you for the time ya'll had taken with us. Julie let us know when we can get together.
Sincerely
"D"

P.S. Kimber can't wait to see the web site.
