(Admin code added by Demex - 9K846664W)

This is my first post here, totally unsure as to whether I am doing this right.

I need a logo for a new website "fashion australia"

Site will be black + one other colour predomindantly.(logo will dicate other colour) Logo needs to somehow combine the themes of Australia and fashion.

Please, no corny australiana like a koala bear, apart from that, I ahve no fixed idea other than logo must be classy, as opposed to quirky or cheesy

Looking for a permanenent ongoing relationship for logo design, happy to give winner first shot at future work.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Not quite was I was after, this logo does not say "fashion", its says "woman". Use of a human form is fine, but it needs to either be more gender neutral or show both sexes. Also, apart from the word australia, there is nothing to tie the logo to Australia.

Please note I have doubled the prize, which will show soon.

OK. Latest version has a map of austalia, and the words fashion australia. We ahve the reverse problem, the map identifies australia, but the without the words the symbol itself days nothing about fashion.

I do want a human form in it

Attached logos are also not right, but I like the human form they have used.

That is the key here

(1) Human form, with fashion as a theme. Human form need not be realistic, can be artisitc of abstract.

(2) Must have Australian theme.

Forgot to set time limit, Limit is MOnday 15 septemeber

Sorry, too many typoes, reposting last message

OK. Latest version has a map of Australia, and the words fashion australia but no iamge that makes the viewert indtify the logo as being something to do with fashion. the iamge itself must say fashion AND Australia, not just the words.

That is the key here, to use:-

(1) Human form, with fashion as a theme. Human form need not be realistic, can be artisitc of abstract.

(2) Must have Australian theme, preferably a map of Australia.

Map with a human form figure that looks fashionable in an abstract/obliique or artistic way

Just to make clear, before I start, I'm not arguing back, or arguing your points - just explaining my idea (above).

Using a human form as you stated would be fine, and the decision of whether to make that form a woman or man was one that I had to make. I chose to use a woman, because not only are women more associated with fashion (what with the 'catwalk' image and all) but because if it is a woman, lets face it, the guys will take interest too.

Although I have used a womanly figure, it is silohetted to take the focus off the fiqure, and more on the dress which she is so ravishingly sporting. This takes up the fashion side of the logo. Focus on the clothing.

And the Australia topic. I tried not to associate it with Australia in that way, because as the brief originally said, no "quirky or cheesey." Making it totally associated with Australia would possibly border on cheese. So, I used the Red, and Blue designs (colours taken from the Australian flag) and used them in the clothing colours. I threw in the yellow for good measure.

So, I'm gonna keep my entry, but here's one which is more obvious about the australianess - I chose to leave out the union jack bit, because it looked messy. Maybe I'll be able to get it to work soon. :)

And cheers. Yellow did look right when I did it...

...but I've been going off the flag, and not what they wear in the olympics.

Here's a try, wanted to give it an abstract feel, the other set represents price tags found on fashion garments and products... Feedback welcomed.

Those were runway (catwalk) lights under the words (to indicate the fashion part). But I'll see if I can come up with something else.

OK, thanks for all the good work

I am leaning towards chelle, this is the closest to what I am after. Issues with it.

(1) The figure is quirky, as opposed to fashionable, can we fashion it up a bit?
(2) The map, is very flat, need to be embossed, or shaded or something.

OK, still leaning towards chelle, but so everyone can see comments.

I like the f & A worked into a fashionable figure, would prefer to see the figure wholy inside the map, as it will be easier to work into a design.

I don't like either the font or the curved writing around the map, and would prefer to the right and horinzontal to the map. I need a more neutral font, font here is fine http://www.afw.com.au/

I Need to make a decision by close of busines tomorrow

Thanks!

Feeling a little foolish at the moment. I had given instructions for a logo to be deisgned in a particualr fashion, and then another logo was entered tht really did not follow my instrcutions, bu still caught my eye. I did not at first understand why.

I then went and checked out the logo of a dozen or so large fashion houses and reaised that in the majority their logos were understated, with no hint of kitch.

My instructions made kitch a likely result, by not following my instructions, the logo of Emma has caught my eye to the point I wish to choose it as the winner. I don't consider it fnished or perfect, bu am unphased as it is the concept I was after.

Thank you everyone for your entries.

I have learnt a lot from this competition and will ensure my next competition is better described
