Hello all, this contest is for a magazine advertisement for a product called Facilities Manager.
All of or most of the ad background should be comprised of the following image:
http://www.printaudit.com/lightswitch.jpg
The light switch and hand should be the center and focus of the ad. On top of the ad you should have the word SWITCH big and bold – probably in white.
Put the following below the light switch:
Print Audit Facilities Manager is GUARANTEED to be the most accurate meter reading and supplies management tool available…
Or we’ll pay you $500!
• Try it free for 3 months
• An additional 3 months free if you switch from a competing product
You should also include our logo somewhere at the bottom -- it can be found here:
http://www.printaudit.com/images/Print_Audit_logo_white.eps
Also add the following contact info at the bottom:
For a free trial visit www.printaudit.com or call 877-41-AUDIT.
Ad Specs:
Trim Size: 8" x 10-3/4"
Bleed Size: 8-1/4" x 11”
and
Full Page (with bleed): W 8.5” x H 11.125”
I will need it in both of those sizes as a high resolution .tiff.
Deadline: ASAP. I’d like to have it all wrapped up by Tuesday.
Thanks!
Christian

You have the right idea with the layout. Can you post it as actual size? It's a little hard to judge at this size. I would like the have the contact info a little bigger. Also, (this is a note for everyone) I want to split the sentence under the switch and format it like this:
To Print Audit Facilities Manager.
Guaranteed to be the most accurate meter reading and supplies management tool available...
Thanks.

Also your text at the bottom looks a bit crowded. If need be you can make the word switch and the light switch a bit smaller. I know that might be a bit tricky to do with the dimensions of the graphic. Thanks.

Hey Trevor, here's my go at it! Enhanced the image to make it more appealing, though still working with text a bit. :D

Can you guys post them in a bigger size. These are all going to be very similar, so it'll help to be able to see them in more detail. Thanks.

Christian, you can move the switch and hand up a bit more to make more room for the text below. I'd also prefer to have more variety in the text color like Giant has. I'm not to crazy about the black bar, but I don't mind have a divider of some sort -- maybe you could try having a horizontal line as a separator instead of the bar.
Thanks.

Giant, you should keep the 'Or we'll pay you $500' part in there. Sorry if I wasn't clear before.

Plum, I'd prefer you stuck with the original background as I think the red is very eye catching and I like the simplicity of it. Thanks.

I like how you have the text laid out, but I'm not crazy about the gold color. There's not enough contrast there. I'd prefer to use white. Also the footer style you're using seems out of place.

Christian, I like the color of your background but I would lower the brightness of the light switch a tad. Also I would make ‘To Print Audit Facilities Manager’ text a bit smaller, make the text below it a bit bigger and move it up so that it’s centered between the contact info at the bottom and the light switch. You should bulletize the ‘Try it free…’ and ‘An additional...’ sentences.
I’ll post more for everyone in a bit.

Plum74, I think that white writing stands out more than gold.
Logoholik, I don't mind having some white on the background, but not that much.
General comments for everyone: So far I probably like Christian's, mainly because he enhanced the red to make it even more eye catching. Also everyone please change 'For a free trial visit...' at the bottom to 'Get your free trial at...'
Thanks.

Hey Trevor, here's the modified text. :)

That's better, but can you put more of a space between the 'to Print Audit...' sentence, the one below it and the bullet points.

Hi,
I'm not sure in your last comment if you wanted me to make all text white so I changed the color of "SWITCH" to white as well.

Thanks for your work everyone! Christian wins.
Christian, you should capitalize the To in front of Facilities Manager. Can you also put the word remote in front of meter reading. The contact info at the bottom and logo are still too close to the edge of the page. You should move those up to be safe.
Thanks.

You should put a period at the end of the second bullet.

Also, replace the our Print Audit logo at the bottom with the facilities manager logo we use in the header of the graphics you've been working on. Thanks.
