Here are some important specs for this project to incorporate into the design:

Product name: Global Share
Requirement: Glob incorporated into the logo
Product functionality: Software will enable handheld computers (Palm & Pocket PC’s) to sync with online database.
Possible uses:
- Companies can collect sales orders or field audits from PDA users from all over the world. Once the data is synced to the web database online, the records can be electronically processed at a corporate office.
- A company can use this to send its field reps product inventories, reports, etc. located anywhere in the world. They’d simply upload this data at night, and before the rep goes to work in the morning, he’d sync is PDA, and the data would be pushed down for the web database to the PDA.
- Doc’s could use this to send patient files collected at the hospital to their staff back at the office. The doc would simply sync while at the hospital, then her staff back at the hospital would login to the web database online and retrieve the records.
Color: 4 color
Resolution: High res, at least 300 dpi
File format: .jpeg

B) Pros: like the use of the globe, the wrapped lines around it look okay.
Cons: Not too wild about the blue and orange color mix-- too much like Florida Gators color's for my taste. Was also hoping to integrate the Name and the glob more closely. Lastly, the wrapped lines on the globe need to be arrows. Arrows with PDA user's signify syncing, which is a good association for us to have.

Thanks!

Hi, Hope the file size is suffiecient, first posting. 300 dpi seems abit much for a bulletin board. Tim (Nichefinders)

Designers, i'd like to finish this project, but still don't have a logo that includes all the key attributes i am looking for.

To date, only one design has the arrows included. THis feature is a must! For PDA users, two inwardly arrows pointed towards each other signify hot-syncing of data. This is soooo important to this logo.

Secondly several have used a globe without the Continents showing. I'd like to see some sense of Continents shown in the design.

To date the most inspiring design is Raja's posted on Sept 12 2003, 10:14 AM. It still is missing the important elements that i've mentioned here. Hopefully that can be cured soon, and a winner can be selected.

Good luck everyone!

The new images with the arrows, globe, and cont. included are right on target. Nice work!

One concept that was tossed around here was to turn the arrows into a data vapor trail-- kinda like you'd see for the Matrix movie. That would be a clincher. Who's game?

Paul, you don't have to start a new thread every time you reply. Just click the "add reply" button when your viewing your contest. I've merged the 2 of them together.

Thanks :)

I think this would wind up being an incredibly detailed logo that would cause reproduction difficulties at small sizes.

with the arrows, globe, and cont as mandatory but without matrix :eye:

We'd like to again thank all the designers that worked on our project. Everyone's designs were very professional, which made it hard for us to select a winner.

In the end, Raja's most recent posting was the design that we ulimately select as the winning logo. Nice work, Raja!
