[Project Complete] Connxus Logo and more!

Hello everyone -

I am going to start from scratch here now... I have been checking out the work all of you have been doing over the past week or so, and I am extemely impressed with everything that I have seen.

I am a co-owner for Connxus which can most easily be described as the following...

- Reseller of computer hardware, software & peripherals
- Network consulting firm
- Network Design firm

Connxus has been around for approx 2 years and I am now looking to start a massive overhaul project.

Initially I am looking for a new logo that will be used for web, and printwork. Later down the road (next month or so) I will be coming back for business cards, letterhead, and envelopes.

For the logo...

The name Connxus was very hard for us work with on the logo as the "X" in the name was the focal point in a lot of the designs that were proposed to us. The issue with that was if you use the "X" in the company name, you would see something like...

ConnXus - (it looks to much like Conn Us rather than Connxus.. :unsure:) Not exactly the message we are trying to put out there. :D

So what I am looking for is kind of an inconic logo with some sory of emphasis with an "X" and the rings that are there. If you look at our current website Connxus Homepage (http://www.connxus.com) you can see what the last designer did which worked quite well! I am looking for something that is a little more "edgy" yet professional.

Colors...
We would like to stay with the red, black, and grey scheme if at all possible. I am interested in the "metallic" looking 3D look. but that is not solid as a "MUST HAVE".

Also... We would like to have the "Tag line" incorporated which is...
"Connecting your world through information technology"

I know its black and orange, I just liked these two colours together. If you are stuck on red and black the colours can be easily changed. :)

Thanks for the submissions! Here is my feedback... Please keep in mind that I would like to also incorporate our tag line... "Connecting your world through information technology" which I stated in my initial post!

1st one (Orange and black)

I am 50/50 on the concept of the design. Where as I do agree that the orange and black DO look good together, I need to stay within our company colors of Red, Black and Grey. :rolleyes:

Can you make some changes for me?
- Font - I am not 100% wild of the font. I dont want anything too fancy, nor too boxy...
- The "rings" - is there a way to make them more 3D looking and perhaps smaller to circle around the Connxus name?

Unfortunately that design does not fit with the look we are going for...

#1 Can you work on incorporating our tag line?
#2 I also want some sort of emphasis on an "X" in the logo - maybe some sort of an "X" behind the logo and in incorporating the Connxus name with rings 3D blah blah blah? (I know I am fishing here)
#3 Also looking for more of a 3D look

Hi Chelle & Eagle -

Here is some feedback for both of you...

Chelle - I appreciate the concept that you are going with, but when looking at the designs, I see the "Conn us" look with a slash between them. That is part of what makes our logo very difficult... Is there something that you can do with an X either infront of the name Connxus, or as a "background"? I am still looking for something that is perhaps 3D/Metallic looking...

Eage - I like what you did with the icon infront of Connxus, but it is ver similar to the "Sitepop" logo that you last posted for them... Could you also work something with the X? Perhaps metallic looking?

Hey Ryan -

Thanks for the question. Its not a matter of being unhappy with my current logo. But what I am aiming to do is a complete and total overhaul on everything for our two year anniversary of being in business.

I am not necessarly wanting to duplicate what we currently have, and maybe I am referring back to what I currently have a little much. My apologies for that.

As I have stated in my initial post, I like logo's that have that metallic look to it.
Because the "X" in our current logo has been our "trademark" more or less, I dont necessarly want to sway from that. Its kind of like a branding mark for us. That is why I keep referring to something with an "X". As far as the rings are concerned, I just like the thought of having them. But I did like the concept that Raja came up with about "connected c's"

Dynagirl had a logo that she did for "Sitepop" that had somewhat of a metallic look that was 3D to it that really caught my eye. It just struck me and drew me to it...

I basically want to give my site a more edgy look without compromising what our "trademark" has been. I do not want to mirror what we have now... I want something fresh.

The reasoning for the colors (Red, Black, and Grey) is because I feel that they are very eye catching. The orange and black that was done was also eye catching, but it just didnt hit me like the red, black, and grey did.

All of you are the designers and I would love any feedback on what you all think.
- Colors
- Design
- Everything!

Hello all!

I have had time to review all of the latest postings, and I wanted to offer some feedback to everyone...

Dynagirl - I like the "X" that you have, but the font is not working for me... Its a little difficult to read if you dont already know the name of the business... ;) Could you change the font up a little?

Jmberra22 - I like the font you used, but the "X" I having some trouble with... Could you perhaps try something a little more 3 dimensional? Also, could you throw in some grey, or another color so I can see what it would look like? :rolleyes:

2Square - I LOVE the concept that you used here... I do see the "mutant" thing you are talking about (I assume X-Men?), but I still like it.. A LOT! One question for you Raja... I am also liking the tag line you input... "lets get connected" Should my business partner and I like to change ours and use that, would it be ok? If so, on your revisions, could you incorporate our original tag line of "Connecting your world through information technology" and yours?

Coredesign - I am going to list yours...
1 - 3 - Unfortunately those are not working for me... They kind of remind me of a 1970's theme... :eek:
4. I like the concept, but I am going to go against my original thought with the colors... Can you spruce it up a little with some other colors and see how it turns out? Also, I cant have the "X" red in the name... If you stand back and look at it... Do you see "Conn Us"?
5. Same comments with this one, but I do like how you kind of used the current "X" for the similarity...

Added the tag line as requested. Please note: The top logo is a 4-color raster image. If selected, I will also send the additional 3 version shown (2-color vector with and without gradient / 1-color vector black and white) which should cover all your needs. 4-color images are generally more expensive to print so the vector images would be of use when cost is of concern or raster images are not practical (ie: yellow pages ads, fax memos, checks, etc).

You can use my suggested tag, but you would have to do a copyright check on it. It sounds a bit familiar, but I'm not sure, it just came to me after reading your company name. As far as adding it to your existing motto, well...thats just overkill, much too long for a tagline in my opinion. If there is more you want to communicate, you can do it with additional copy, like on a website or product, or other collateral treatments. You don't neccesarily have to "say it all" in a logo.

Anyway, here it is another colour :)
