I am printing the enclosed sell sheet on my laser printer and want a more professional look. That is where you come in. It is a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper folded in half.

The template will allow me to create different sell sheets for different product lines. So there needs to be a header section on the cover page where I can put "bathroom Vanities" or "Mirrors" for example. I will then put in the pictures and product descriptions for that particular line.

So this design project is just for the overall look of the sell sheet.

One thing to keep in mind is that I want a lot of white space so I dont burn through toner cartridges so quickly.

The final deliverable will be 300 dpi tiff files of the front and back.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm interested in submitting something.

Do you have a vector copy of the logo and do you have the photos separate?

Hi Jennifer,

Here are the EPS files. Let me know if that is what you need because I cannot open them. I work with the Tiff files when I need to use the logo.

Thanks,

Steve

Yes; thanks.

I'll post something tonight.

OK; obviously this has placeholder text, but you get the general idea.

more "ink-friendly" version :)

I want to keep it as a foldover booklet format like the current one. i.e. It opens like a book and reads left to right.

I must've totally missed that when looking over the requirements.

At any rate, do you want to try this design in that layout, or something new?

I like several of the elements on the inside such as the watermark wave, the highlighted order method box, and the vertical separator lines. I am not so crazy about the floral pattern on the front though.

I definitely favor a more contemporary design.

OK.

Now do the pictures have to be on the outside front cover? Is that the way you want that set up?

BathSafety

No, I am open to ideas for presenting the goods. Maybe a sample presentation picture on the outside with the individual items on the inside?

Really this is what I looking for, ideas on a professoinal presentation but allowing me the flexibility to change the number and particular items presented on the fly. Currently my print catalog is out of date because of new items added and old items dropped.

So now I want to print individual sell sheets for groups of items on my laser printer to send to catalog requesters. Then it will not get out of date so easily. I will just move the design elements around to make up for additions or deletions to our inventory.

Hello Steve, this is our design.

I do have some additional questions:

I am printing the enclosed sell sheet on my laser printer and want a more professional look. That is where you come in. It is a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper folded in half.

1. We provide the design in spread version. Total Horisontal side 11" and the vertical side 8.5". (Front cover only is ± 5.5x 8.5"). Is this what you want?
2. Is your laser printer support bleed printing? As far as I know, some laser printer have "margin" so we should print full bleed design as "fit to page". Our design here should be full bleed but we present it as "fit to page" the most outer grey thin line is paper 11x8.5".

The final deliverable will be 300 dpi tiff files of the front and back.
On the last message:
....but allowing me the flexibility to change the number and particular items presented on the fly.

3. I'm little bit confuse, tiff files for finals cannot be change. So what final format then?

Any comments would be appreciated. :)
Thankyou,
LutFi

1. Yes, exactly right, 5.5" x 8.5"
2. My printer does not print all the way to the edge so yes, there should be a white margin
3. I realize that there are better ways like working with layers but I am not a graphic artist, I do not use high end software, and I dont want to learn new software. I do know how to manipulate image files though and tiff offers the best format for avoiding loss of quality over time. So the final format will be 8.5" x 11" at 300dpi.

I like the waves you incorporated into the header and footer. One concern, however, is that I fold these by hand and may not hit the center perfectly so it might be better to have a small white area down the centerfold.

v2

Inside left is designed to expand to accommodate up to 6 products.

Jennifer,

It is a nice clean contemporary look but overlapping elements and background watermarks will cause me problems when I later make changes. i.e. I will not be able to make small text changes over the watermark without re-starting from the base image. And the boxes overlapping the images will definitely create problems I will not overcome with my way of editing.

But if the text is over a white background I can easily cut and add text. And if the elements like the blue boxes dont overlap the images I can maneuver them when I make changes.

One option I suppose is that I can add the wave as a watermark to a Word document. Or I can double print the page although that creates extra work as this is already a two pass print for front and back.

I am thinking out loud so you can think about my production issues with me and/or give me suggestions.

Sorry; I thought you used Illustrator or Photoshop.

I never use Word, so the watermark is one option, or we could just pare it down like the 2 above.

P.S. can add back in the boxes on the front, but would just have to position them differently (maybe a line above and a line below the photo); plus can add more color, but I know you have ink usage concerns.

BathSafety
06-02-2007, 03:39 PM
Thanks, thats better.

The ink issue is not the total overriding concern, I just did not want the background to be a solid color. As long as the base is white we can do whatever elements work.

Version # 2.
Revisions made in this version:
• Add "small white area" down the centerfold.
• Remove color background from text.

Thankyou
LutFi :)

If not I will announce tomorrow.

This was a tough choice as several designers gave me something I liked. In the end though I like Jennifer from Blue Cherry's design slightly more.

Thank you everyone for participating.

Best regards,

Steve

Thanks Steve. I appreciate it.

Let me know if you need any changes and what formats you'd like the finals in.

Hi Jennifer,

I like the overlapping squares on post 16 but I would like them positioned in a way that does not overlap the image.

Also, on the horizontal line that spans the bottom of the front and back cover, can you make that morph into the wave part of the logo instead of going up and around the logo? It looks kind of discontinuous.

The final format will simply be these two design elements on the front and back cover in a 300dpi tiff (RGB). The rest I will replicate your design in Word and my image software. In other words, I just needed your creative input so I could do the formatting myself.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

OK; that sounds good.

I will have the revisions for you this weekend.

front cover 3d

Well the horizontal line is closer to my concept of morphing but not by much. What I was thinking was more along the lines of losing the darker box and making the background of the BATH and GEMS into dark horizontal bars instead of part of a box.

Steve

The horizontal line can then come right into the bottom of the wave.

The second version is definitely the better. What can be done so the right side of the wave does not look cut off?

Also, can you inside justify the three squares instead of the current outside justification?

Thanks,

Steve

Its a print. Please provide everything except the the text on the back cover (but include the 3 easy ways to order) and the front cover picture at 300 dpi tif (RGB) 11" x 8.5"

Hi Steve,

Can you send me an email (sales@getonmessage.com)? I have a couple of questions and I think it would be easier to talk back and forth via email and I can get this finalized for you.

Thanks! :)
