Dear all

I hope you will take time to submit some great designs for the below project :)

Project Summary:

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
CityLasik.de, city lasik, City Lasik, citylasik.de or CITYLASIK.DE

What type of product or service do you offer?
City Lasik is a new chain of eye clinics specializing in laser eye treatments for near- and farsightedness – such as LASIK-operations. City Lasik will be launched in Germany as a start.

City Lasik will offer outstanding customer service, very competitive pricing and top-notch clinic design and laser equipment.

How long have you been in business?
The company is currently being established

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
June 26th 2007

Audience Profile:

Please describe your audience
Potential customers. Mainly through online-marketing. The typical customer is well-educated and 25 to 45 years old.

What type of logo would you like?
A logo that fits the German market, which is probably a bit more conservative than the rest of Europe and the US. However, our services are aimed at the younger population, so it should still be fresh…

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
No

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No

Communication Strategy:

What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
A professional service organization who can be a trustworthy and caring partner for an operation which is extremely important to the patients.

What is your tagline or slogan?
We still do not have one.

Where will your new logo be used?
On our coming website, on stationary and in printed ads.

Competitive Positioning:

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
www.euroeyes.de
www.visumed.de
www.freevis.de
www.care-vision.de

Neither of the competitors have real logos…

We look forward to seeing some innovative suggestions from you.

Best regards
Morten Kristensen

Dear all

Thank you all for the designs submitted so far. We like parts of each of the designs, but neither have really done it for us.

The favourites so far have been skyvee's and Logoholik's designs. It's hard to nail exactly why that is, but they seem closest to capturing the modern approach we are looking for.

Most of the designs have been centered around the eye, and only Offbeat have broken this trend with the latest design. Though the eye is a natural starting-point, it would be nice to see some other approaches as well.

I very much hope to see some more great designs in the coming days. :D

The very best regards
Morten

Dear all

Since my last comments I have been away from the computer, and I will therefore postpone the deadline until Friday June 29th. I therefore hope that you can find time for some more designs :)

I will not comment on each of the designs posted - but in general I still think there is a bit too much focus on the eyes. If that could be toned down a bit it would be great.

I like Virgil's design - and I would be great to see some different designs as well a few revisions of that one.

Best regards
Morten

Thanks to you all again :)

I have narrowed the field to three candidates now. Virgil, Relevant and Skyvee - I really like your designs.

I would be very happy if you would make some variations of your designs in line with the following:

Virgil
I think your first version is very good, and it would be nice to see a few variations of color and maybe font. If you could try something metallic in the colors it would be great.

Relevant
Your version 2 is interesting, yet a bit too "big". Do you think you could down-scale or simplify the skyline a bit?

Skyvee
Your version 1 is appealing. The color and font is great - but maybe you could present a few variations of the eye (and the color of the text)?

Thanks in advance. I will be off for vacation for almost a week, so if you can find the time to have the variations ready by the end of next weekend it would be great. Then I will be able to make a final decision.

Best regards
Morten

Hello Morten,
And thank you for your feedback. Here's one variation following your guidelines regarding the color. I kept the initial font and used a metallic tone on the letters.
I will soon post other versions :)

Thank you,
Virgil.

Hello Morten,
Here's a variation on my initial concept (the "eye in i") with different typeface and in all caps.

Hi Morten,

Do you require further revisions from the designers you indicated?

If you have a new deadline, I can update your thread title and leave the thread in the forum open to new entries, or if you've narrowed it down to the designer you'd like to work with, you can announce that and I'll move the thread to the Revisions Forum so you can complete any final tweaks to the design.

Thanks! :)
