We were having some issues with important emails not getting to their intended destination after we recently upgraded the forum. To remedy the problem, I made it so email notification by default is enabled. I did this because when the upgrade was done, it was set to null. Our contest holders were thinking no one was posting to their contests. People were getting private messages and not knowing it, etc.
Instead of walking everyone through the steps to enable email notifications or how to subscribe to their topic, I decided to enable them across the board.
To turn this off, all you have to do is go to the top of the forum and click My Controls>Email Settings>Uncheck "Enable 'Email Notification' by default" then the button that says "Amend my email settings".
Next you need to click "View topics" under "Subscriptions" on the left. Check the top right box then the unsubscribe button.
Thanks for understanding :)
