Hi there,

I'm currently writing an executive summary/business plan for our data center. The main purpose of this document is to pursue an investor to help us retrofit our very large satellite dishes into solar collectors.

What I'm looking for is a rough illustration of what our data center would look like with solar panels on the front of all the dishes. In addition, various solar panels around the area.

Here are some pictures I've taken of the facility: http://redrocksdatacenter.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=80
There is a very large rectangular dish located away from the main facility that I would love to get into the illustration if possible: http://redrocksdatacenter.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=104

I thought if I could include a black and white or color illustration on our plan, it would help the reader identify what we're trying to accomplish. Much like the illustration on the front of an architectural plan for a building/house.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I would like to have this completed within 7 days.

Thanks,
Tom

What resolution do you need this is(what's the largest size this is going to be printed on)? How important is detailing the background on environment where the facility is located? Do you want the rectangular dish to appear as a separate illustration, or to make it appear as if they were both at the same location? Do you need to solar panels to fill in just the interior of the dishes; any specific details when it comes to the solar panels(specific sizes or types)?

I'll provide the illustration asap depending on requirements. :)

1. Size: I only need a nice sketch/photoshoped image for the front page of a business plan/executive summary. It's not going to be on any posters or anything.

2. The background doesn't have to be very detailed. I'm just trying to peak the interest of the reader. Having 11meter dishes turned into solar collectors will hopefully make them read a page or two intead of just discarding it based on the title...

3. I would love it if you could incorporate the rectangular dish alongside the others, but if you can't not a big deal.

4. As far as how I want the solar panels to be laid out, that is still up for discussion. We're probably going to go with solar laminate panels (ie. http://www.affordable-solar.com/uni.solar.laminate.pvl-Series.124.watt.htm)
They will go inside the dish and keep with the concave surface. If we build them to be all even, the weather might rip them off. The concave design keeps most of them safe.

This along with a few ground units is all I'm looking for.

Examples:

Couple of these... http://www.eere.energy.gov/state_energy_program/images/photo_az_landfill.jpg
More cool ground units: http://peswiki.com/images/3/36/Saguaro_2006_500.jpg

I hope I provided enough information, if not, just let me know.

Thanks,
Tom

Hey Tom, sounds good. The ground units in the shape of the ones you posted, or like the smaller round dishes in your facility?

We'll be purchasing the ground units so either regular rectangular ones or the new kind which is the last picture I sent. (the new kinds look pretty cool so I would prefer those)

This looks great, thanks. Sorry, for some reason, I'm not getting emails that someone posted a reply. If you could add a few more solar panels on the ground (5-6 small ones in front of the building) and take the middle solar panel and duplicate it to the right of the building, then it would work out fine.
