Project Update: The project deposit has been raised to $400 and the deadline has been extended to July 20th.

Zoe: Looks good, the only issue I probably have is with the white space. More specifically how the logo fits with the stock photo under it, and the site menu to the right of it.

Any chance, any color scheme could work with my logo? I think I provided the .eps versions of the logo?

The issue might actually have to do with my logo to begin, but I'm not sure.

I am sorry, you stumped me. :(

What would you like changed in regards to the logo? Do you want it bigger, blended into the design more or something else?

Any chance, any color scheme could work with my logo?

I used an eye drop tool to take the colours from your logo to use for the rest of the design. I did lighten the green however to be able to use it as a background.

Are these not the colours of your logo? Sorry a little confused.

Zoe: I'm sorry for being confusing; I meant blend the logo into the rest of the design more.

Zoe

Sorry I took a look at your logo in a different program and it seems that when I imported the logo file it lightened the colours.

Here are some changes.

Thanks

Zoe

Zoe: I'm sorry, but its not quite what I'm looking for. The logo still looks disjointed from the rest of the template rather than blended.

Anne: In reference to post #14.
It looks good; it's a departure from the usual designs that I see with feature a vertical columns for content and the other for menus/navigation.

The best thing that I like about this design is the drop shadow three column navigation at the bottom. It allows the reader to see everything , without having to scroll down.

If anything I had to complain about, not really a complaint, but the stock photo that you used just doesn't seem to fit. Zoe used a similar image, that I didn't like either. May it's just me.

Hello
Please check concept from me.

Brian: In reference to post #15.

Pros:
The stock imagery is more of what I'm looking for.
I like the use of the dust mite/pest watermark in the background.

Cons:
Try messing with the colors, I seem to be a big fan of turquoise or blues in my site designs, but I don't want anyone here to be though :/

Remove the grids in the navigation tabs.

Overall: I like it, but make it look less like a "blog" template.

phazex
07-10-2007, 06:50 AM
Aliska: In reference to post #17.

The tabs are too big overall, but try removing the mirrored effect on the tabs and try a gradient or a solid color.
The logo usage is right on point :)
The template sort of looks generic or it just reminds me of a theme in Microsoft Windows XP.

Overall: I think I do like it, but it's just the big mirrored tabs that are throwing me off. The colors aren't really an issue.

You even remembered to include my search form which no one else has remembered to add yet.

phazex

Designers: I think what I said in my template survey kind of threw everyone off about what sort of imagery to use. Everyone except Brian is using "left field" imagery in their designs.

Anne

Thank you for the feedback. I'll try to find a better image and I'll add the search form

Hi,

Here's my vision.

Thanks,
matude

PS: Note to moderators about this stock photo.
I'm aware of the fact it's similar/same to the one Brian used, but technically it's a different stock file/image:
Brian's (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/medical_concepts/ailments/allergies/2874364_mite.php?id=2874364) vs mine (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/medical_concepts/ailments/allergies/2874340_mite.php?id=2874340). He's photo is with blurry background and colour.
+ I looked everywhere and there aren't many mite photos available.

matude: I like it! However, I would like to see what the design would look like if it had Anne's design arrangement in post #14. I have no other suggestions than the aforementioned.

phazex

Brian: I equally likes yours too! Even though this design is more compact than the others, I like it in this case. But, as I just mentioned, still like to see what the design would look like if it had Anne's design arrangement in post #14. The top menu tends to the draw the eye more to the top of the web page., which I guess was your intended effect so that you won't lose sight of where the navigation is.

Brian: Yes, I think the design in post #24 works better, because of your design's compact nature.

I have chosen Matude as my designer.

Thank you everyone for your work; I look forward to working with everyone else on future projects I have planned.
