I am looking for a new template design. Its is for the website workincairns.com.

Due date is 7/23/07 but I will end this as soon as I get the design I want.

What is required:

- Home Page (main template)
- A Job Listing page (This page lists the jobs available after a job search)
- A Job Template page (This page shows the actual job after a user clicks on a job on the job listing page)

Hi Guys,

THanks for the start. Here are some comments.

For Aliska.
Good start. Just a few things that you might be able to change.

> The red top bar isn't really working. Perhaps something lighter in color? Not sure.
> I prefer square edges as appose to round ones like you have for most your banner titles
> Aliska the left menu is taking too much space. I want the left menu be no more than 160px MAX. The right one should also be no more than 160px. This leaves the main content to be ~ 430-450px.
> The search is taking too much space. Please have a look at http://www.seek.com.au/. It should be about 240px. On the right of the search box, perhaps we can have "FEATURED JOBS"
> I prefer your second template Aliska

Good start. Here are some some changes
> Im finding the main content too blocky. If you looks at http://www.timeout.com/london/, you'll see that there really isn;t any blocks at all.
> Too much color. While colors are good, I prefer the site predominately white. If you look at http://www.timeout.com/london/ the site looks very colorful, however the sites predom white.
> I need the right banners to be under the header banner

Thanks for the changes Aliska, djaka

djaka - Looks good. I prefer if the menus didn't have dotted lines. Also any horizontal rules.

Zoe, - too much orange... too brght, may need color change.

vhgdesign - Like your menus. I suggest that the "search jobs" and "features jobs" can be somehow merged into one? as appose to 2 seperate components

Luc - For some reason it looks a little too empty. Dunno why. Color sort of doesn't match.

brian - Looks very good. Perhaps a touch more color just to seperate the grey. Also the colored menus doesn't suit. With the gradients for the menus, is it possible to do it from one direction only as aapose to a middle gradient?

Aliska - I like your Working 01.jpg temaplte. Specially the menus but I think your main content is too emplty. Can the search box be alot smaller, perhaps halving the size and putting a featured job list on the right. The text below the "Your Guide to trip planning" ie "Hotel Atrraction restaurants" is taking tooo much space height wise.

Here is my template as promised.

I really wanted to focus my design more towards usability and experience.

Do you have a particular screen resolution you wish the design to work in? For example 800x600 or 1024x768? If you allow us to design for 1024x768 we would have more room to layout the different elements.

Severner: Looks good. However it seems the main content is sort of out of wack?

vhgdesign: Looks good. Is it possible for you to get rid of the background and instead put that background pattern onto the header. ie like just fade it in? Also with your search box. Can you chnage the color? Can you try it with the same grey as http://mycareer.com.au/ or same blue as http://seek.com.

With your right nav, can you grab the right advertisers off http://www.cairnspost.com.au/ under "Classifieds"

Hello Dolphin,

re: Anyone else wants to have a go? At the moment there is no clear winner yet.

A number of the designers that frequent here have participated in this thread, however without specific feedback from you on each design it is difficult for the designers to move towards a design that you would like.

If you could take the time to tell the designers what you like and dislike about their designs, I am sure a "clear" winner will become apparent. :)

I hope this helps to bring us closer to what you are looking for.

Zoe, When I said no clear winner we actually mean the designs are great. We are trying to pick a winner from 5 of the templates.
