Hello.
My jewelry project is coming along nicely in another thread and so I can open up my other project.

This company is a company that rents out machines to private parties.

Company Details

1a) Name of Company
Nordjysk Fest (Means "Party in Northern Jutland" - it's a regional buisiness)

1b)Company Tag Line or slogan:
I don't have one yet

1c) Do you have a company logo?
Nope, most rental sites don't.

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)?
No, don't want one

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
I rent out machine for private parties. To begin with, just softice, slushice, candy floss and popcorn, but in time, it will hopefully grow bigger and have karaoke, rodeobulls, jumpingtoys etc :)

1f) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
Everone in Northern Jutland who is having a party, weddings, konfirmations, childrens birthdays etc - grownups and kids alike.

Website Details

1b) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
No, but it will be nordjyskfest.dk

2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.
Well, see this is the fun part - NOONE up here has good sites. These are my closest competitors:
http://www.ranum-teltudlejning.dk/
http://www.funtastic.dk/
http://web-ice.dk/
http://www.funfest.dk/
http://www.gina-teknik.dk/

They are all horribly badly done, and not at all inviting to have fun at a party.

3b) What colors or color schemes would you like?
Fun colors - a simple site that makes people smile and think about that greeeeat party they are about to give - any color is welcome.
None of the sites have pictures with party guests enjoying a softice or a candy floss - I will have those pictures taken in time, but I can't get them right now. INstead of JUST showing the machines, this site should show what it looks like to have fun.
It is only table models I will rent out to begin with and they can be found at: www.coolex.dk if you need pictures(yet another poorly done site, but nice people :) )

4b) List the Navigation links for your Site:

Forsiden
Soft Ice
Slush Ice
Popcorn
Candy Floss
Betingelser
Om os
Kontakt

5b) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, flashy, etc.)
Fun and inviting

6b) Please provide the addresses of competitors' sites, if possible:
Same as above

7b) Do you have any images for use in the design of your site? If not, do you have images, can you offer suggestions of what you type of imagery you feel would be most suitable for your website:
The pictures on coolex.dk with the machines. The right machine is shown on it's own page, but on the front it is more important to show pictures of grown-up and kids eating softice, slushice, popcorn or candy floss.
Maybe something with garden parties - sunshine, clear skies and green grass and people enjoying themselves.

Deadlines and Deliverables

1c) What is the deadline for your template design?
August 1st.

2c) Will you require HTML coding? (Yes/No)
No

I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with - thanks in advance :)

Mette

I thought I'd start things off with this fun, bright template. I hope that it has the party atmosphere that you're after. Feedback appreciated :)

I generally like it :) I especially like the picture, though I miss grownups in it, but the combination of ballons and the products are something near genius :)

I would like to see some more templates however, from you or others :)

One little funny thing, I hope you don't get offended :) You have written Feset in the bottom instead of Fest and feset means farted in Danish! Thank you for that - it gave my this days first laugh :)

haha my mistake! It was not intentional I can assure you :)

I'm glad that you like the template, would you like to see any changes made to it? Or should I just go ahead with another design for you?

Thanks. :)

Oh go ahead - it would be nice to have some things to be inspired by :)

here is a concept from me :)
I was thinking maybe in the "party machines" area, the actual softice machine could slowly fades out, and the slushice machine slowly fade in, and so on with all your machines (found in the navigation bar) ... And of course when a user click on a specific machine, it goes to the specific page with more information.

Just a simple thought

Look forward to hear your comments,

Respectfully,

Brian

That's a very good idea for the page Brian!

Again the pictures are great, allthough I would like to have the women with popcorn look less sexy and instead of the kids with hats, I would like grownups with slushice or maybe singing into microphones. It is really hard to find good pictures for this I think, I have been asking around among some photographers but without luck.

I'll be back tomorrow or the day after to comment on changes - or other suggestions :)

Thanks

Mette

Yeah I was really struggling to find appropriate photos, do you mind if I wait to complete my layout when you find some pictures? Thanks :)

Actually to get the right photos I might have to take them myself - and that requires me to have a party with machines - and that is a month from now - but my company is tarting in 2 weeks. So I need at least temporary photos. But when you're also having a hard time finding photos like that it tells me I must be right ;)

Ah ok, well I'll see what I can find in that case.

Maybe you could use cartoonish drawings of people put on the photo background with the blue sky and green trees - toons like Meegoos (messenger smileys) or something?
Just an idea :)
They don't have to be animated even though that would be awesome.
What do you all think of that idea?

Sounds good, I'll see what I can do :)

Hi Brian

The way they are put into the picture is not good and they are not doing things that relate to the topic.
I will try to contact a cartoonist I know and see if he can make some funny drawings for the website.

I will have to postpone the project some, but better be late and right than halfright and on time.

Have a nice day

yes its very hard to find several cartoons that would actually eat soft ice, slushice etc... the best way would be to hire a graphic designer/cartoonist for that purpose. I can say that we have several very talented graphic designers, who would be more than happy to give it a try.

Please see the "Miscellaneous Projects" in the forums, and if you want, you can have a contest for that too.

Hope that helped,

Look forward to hear from you,

Brian

Well, Brian - I haven't heard from the cartoonist yet, but I love your design and I think we should just end it right here. I can take it from here with the cartoonist.

So if you will send me the design, I would be very happey!
Thank you to those who entered and made a suggestion :)
