Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
World Teacher Aid

What type of product or service do you offer?
This is a charity that is being formed which will be funding the full time salary of a teacher in villages of third world countries.

How long have you been in business?
Charity is just being formed.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Excitement and hope for education in the third world.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
August 3rd or earlier.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
We would like a logo that is simple and easy to work with. It will need to be easily transferable to things like t-shirts and hats but also look sharp on the web and in print materials.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Please see the tentative site design for colors. With that said, it would be nice to be able to have a logo where the colors could be interchanged depending on the use.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
A globe or the world. Possibly kids. Please see the attached files for examples of what we like.

Where will your new logo be used?
Top of the site in the header, on the internet, print materials and other promotional materials like shirts, hats etc.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Educating the Third World One Village At A Time.

We request: Original files (Photoshop with all layers) along with an Illustrator version.

Please ask any questions for prompt feedback.

Hello Everyone,

Thanks so much for your great designs thus far. It's exciting to see this develop as it's been a long work in progress for us.

Jennifer - we really like your creative ideas behind this logo, especially because you incorporated some elements that represent the concepts behind the charity (the world, teachers etc.).

Your color choice is nice as well. We really like bright (but bold) colors :)

However, we think that the apple might be a little too much in this case when combined with the world. Also, we'd like to see a more unique font for "World Teacher Aid".

elogonics - we really like the simplicity behind this logo. That's important for us because we'd like it to be easy to transfer to things like a t-shirt etc.

You colors are nice as well (for the same reason stated above for Jennfier).

The only thing that's holding us back is it doesn't really stand out as unique for our particular charity. Although it's a really nice logo, there isn't anything specifically connected to the charity.

Is there a way to incorporate something connected to the charity?

radojevic - Thanks for adding your designs.

Similar to above, we like the simplicity of your logo. However, it's just not unique enough for us.

We'd like this logo to be different and unique to World Teacher Aid.

Thanks everyone for your contributions. If you have any questions please ask.

Take care.

Thanks Everyone for your contributions!

Here are a couple general comments thus far:
- we want to keep the logo as simple as possible - it has to be easy to transfer to a t-shirt and/or look good even if it's really small.
- we like the designs that have incorporated items that relate to the charity (world, globe, teacher, kids, hands of kids, books etc.)
- bright friendly colors are much more favorable
- the font used in message #9 is close to what we would like to use.
- although we want it simple we still want to maintain a professional look and feel.

NHR - We like the concept of combining people and the globe. We would like to see the people simplified a little bit because we feel there is too much going on with all those lines. We also prefer the second version you gave with the center portion filled in with color.

Pracus - The little person (in red) that you used was the exact "simple" look we were looking for. Would it be possible to use that person holding the world (or something to symbolize the world) above their head? We like to see you play with that concept a little bit.

Nvoke - you were spot on with the simple look and the font you used is exactly what we would like. Unfortunately the logo is just not in the direction we were looking to go. Thanks for your efforts.

Djaka - We really appreciated your efforts to incorporate the globe into your design. The challenge we had was deciding what the other elements in the logo were. We think the top portion is symbolizing a book (which we thought was a good idea). The outside green portions we thought were perhaps "hands" (which we also liked). If you could simplify the logo by either combining just the hands around the globe (as though they were hugging the globe) or just the book and the globe. All three created confusion for us and seemed like too much. Therefore if you could use some of those elements and make them a little more obvious it would be greatly appreciated.

Djaka - we like the simplicity of your design but we weren't too fond of the person you used in the middle. Could you try some other variations?

Deanna - we REALLY liked your rough sketch of the world - we like the simple outline of the world. The challenge with your logo is it would be hard to transfer to a t-shirt if we got it embroidered. The other thing we would modify is the font - we still want this to give a professional look and feel since it's a charity (please refer to message #9 for an example of the font we would like to see).

Dewa Jaya - Thanks for your contributions but unfortunately I just don't think it's what we are looking for at this time.

Thanks everyone!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Take care.

Tini,

Thanks for your designs.

We definitely like your ideas regarding the combination of the kids and the globe but we aren't too fond of the the style of the kids you used. Also, if the globe is going to be incorporated into the design we'd like it to have a recognizable continent such as North + South America, Africa etc.

In this globe there really isn't anything recognizable.

We'd love for you to try a couple more and if you're open to it, feel free to try anything outside of what we've suggested. Remember, we are just regular folk and we'd love to see where your creative skills take this logo.

Thanks!

These are actually three persons - the bigger ones are symbolizing teachers :)

ATTENTION ALL DESIGNERS
************************
We really appreciate all your designs but it's becoming obvious to us that incorporating the world or globe into the logo is becoming far too difficult. It's just not easy to translate the logo to a t-shirt or look good when it's small.

Therefore we are open to any other designs or ideas including just a text logo using the words "World Teacher Aid".

The one thing we would like to maintain is a focus on making the logo unique and different.
***********

Deanna - Seeing your redesign definitely put a smile on our faces - it's much more in the direction we are looking to go.

However, we are starting to realize that incorporating a globe or the world into the logo is becoming way too complicated (please see the comments above). We'd love your creative thoughts on any other designs.

Pracus - Thanks for your attempt to include our earlier comments. However, after speaking to our board of directors, the comments that came back were that the logo just wasn't unique enough. We are really looking for something that is different from most standard logos.

Thanks for all your help.

Take care.

Unorthodox,

Thank you so much for your design!

We were REALLY pleased once we saw it. It's exactly what we are looking for. Could you please try a couple variations with the globe being a bit bigger?

Thanks!

Unorthodox,

Thanks for your speedy reply.

We like the one in message #28 (Version 2) the best.

Could you also try one other version by adding a rough outline of some of the major continents like either North/South America or Africa/Europe instead of the lines in the middle?

The key is just making the outline of these continents rough - it doesn't have to be exact.

Either way we'd like to award you the winner of this contest. Once we've finalized the design we'd appreciate if you could please send us the files as both a Photoshop file and an Illustrator.

Thanks so much!

Take care.

We really like version #8 which is in message #35. Do you think you can reverse the colors of the globe?
