Hi,
I'm looking for a Web 2.0 style Logo design for my website called Researchwizardpro.com. On this site, I sell a software product that helps people use powerful tools to help automate their online research.

I'd like to update the header graphic to give the website a modern, high end Web 2.0 look and feel. I'm looking for a design that's clean, simple and has a great sense of style.

To see some examples of the look that I'm after, just visit www.cssremix.com. I've also uploaded a sample redesign gif at:
Wizard Sample Redesign (http://www.researchwizardpro.com/wizard.gif)
There, some people have suggested putting an image of a magnifying glass somewhere into the product name...

To find out more about this site and get a sense of it's look and feel, just visit the home page at:
Research Wizard Pro Home Page (http://www.researchwizardpro.com/index2.html)

Here are the basic guidelines:
1. The logo/header dimensions should be 650 x 130(pixels)
2. I want to keep the same general blue/gray/purple color scheme to complement the website's exiting design.
2. The tagline "Taking Online Publishing.." should always go beneath the product name.
3. And any standalone pictures should be shown in the upper left hand corner of the logo display.

That's it for the guidelines. The rest is up to you..Since this is a new direction, I'm open to different ideas. I'm interested in seeing what you can create. If you have questions feel free to ask me. Thanks,
Tom Ingram

Great Design. I like what you've done with the mirror finish and the magnifying glass. The only problem is that even though the magnifying glass is blended into the title, it just doesn't balance the image well on the right side.

Better to place it somehow on the left hand side near the top corner behind the main title. The handle could point the opposite way. That would help anchor the image better. Also the color scheme could use some purple to bring more energy to the grey tones...

Hey Goodhaus,
After seeing the new design, I think we were heading in the right direction with your first idea placing the magnifying glass on the right hand side. But that still left the image unbalanced and unanchored on the lefthand side.

Take a look at this idea and you see where I'm going. We still want to keep the new purple blue color scheme..except apply it to the first design and add a background image that's a cross between the orange frame and the design on the left.

I got this idea from www.stylegrind.com If you go there you'll see how its incorported into the header logo. I'd like something similar that enhances the rest of the logo without drawing all of the attention...

This looks good...But the font style doesn't really fit with the rest of the website. Please see my earlier post that mentioned the design changes...
The logo is close but needs the last element I mentioned to make it really stand out..

The deadline for this project is set for August 15. All of the designs have been great and we're close to awarding the winning designer. There's only one detail needed in order select a finalist. See message #5 for more details.

All the designs look great. But the entry from Goodhaus is the direction I'd like to go. There's just one more thing it needs. I'll need time to look for an good example but this is the basic outline of the eventual header graphic that will contain the logo.

It needs some kind of curve underneath the tagline that accents/sets off/hightlights the entire logo. It'll also need to be a little larger. Just look at the entire outlined space and I think you'll see what I mean. I'll also look for an good example in the meantime. Thanks.

Can you please clarify the suggestion to accent the logo. Adding more to the logo design could be too much going on and might be distracting. Thanks! :)

Hi Goodhaus. The logo that we've got right now looks great. Since I'm using it in a header graphic, I'll have the designer make any changes if we need them based on the design. When you send the PSD files, send larger(650x130) versions so we can work with different sizes. You've done great work. Thanks for your help. Bye,Tom
