This week has been really busy huh? It seems everyday theres a couple new contests, which is good for the designers, but bad for us contest holders... :(

What do ya think?

It has been very busy. I've been looking through the applications and inviting the best of the lot to join in on the fun. Wish I knew why they are not participating. Almost feel like we need to have one of those "Take a number" things you see at the deli :D

I think something like that would probably work. For example in the logos contest maybe only allow 5 or 6 contests at a time(same with the templates... ) and then when a slot opens up the next contest is posted. Maybe have something on the home page that shows contest availability. I think that would seem more controlled than taking anything and everything as it comes along.
So that the contest holders would know that there would be a good batch of designers ready to enter the contests and they wouldn't be watered down. Also might make it even more competive. :box:

You could even maybe say that new contests are only posted once a week on a certain day only like "Sunday" Just to help regulate the flow of contests so that they come in waves. So the contest holders would know that their contest would be posted on that day. The contest holders could even start posting in the discussion area before hand to get to know the designers and just talk about holding contests and answer any questions before hand so that when the contest starts they would have everything ready(ie: photos or extra graphics) and not have to edit there post much later when they find out they needed to include a picture in the design. Doing that the designers could know what would be coming up and they could prepare for it more.

one idea :)

or two

Sorry, thanks for the ideas but I will never turn away clients or make them wait to get what they need. I just need to have enough designers to keep up with the demand. I have plenty of applications to go through.

But, Palmer be careful that you down over crowd this place with designers, because then the designers will be unhappy with that amount of work they actually get paid for here.

That's the balancing act I've been handling since this place began. :)

I think that having a bigger place with more designers and contests is a good thing. Like a smorgasbord (sp?) for the designers. Now they don't have to compete in the only 2 contests out there - they can pick the ones that inspire them the most. That way, they are more likely to create a design that will win, and the contest holder is more likely to get something they like.

Provided Palmer can keep growing each group of people (hey, lord knows I'm doing what I can), contest holders and designers, things will be peachy.
