We are a 501c3 non profit educational conference organization dedicated to advancing healthcare through open discussion of scientific issues. We need a logo for out Applied Pharmaceutical Toxicology (TM) forum.

The Applied Pharmaceutical Toxicology forum is dedicated to Applied Pharmaceutical Toxicology as the name implies. This work is heavily scrutinized by the FDA and other parties as the measurements conducted impact safety margin and potency of the therapeutics involved. The work, measuring small molecule drugs on a nano-gram level, is extremely exacting, labor intensive, and the documentation involved is extensive.

Themes:

Biology, Toxicology, Safety, Analytical, Healthcare, medicine, accuracy, precision, accountability, Regulated, FDA

some symbols:

Cadeucus, (healthcare symbols), compass (exactness/engineering symbols), pharmaceutical symbols

The main web page of our non-profit is www.bsat.org. Our other major workshop page is www.appliedpharmaceuticalanalysis.org

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Applied Pharmaceutical Toxicology

What type of product or service do you offer?

The Applied Pharmaceutical Toxicology forum facilitates education, training, discussion, and scientific activities in support of the Toxicology community, and promotes and disseminates knowledge of drug Toxicology and allied topics. Membership includes scientists involved in every area of pharmaceutical research and development, particularly with respect to applied toxicology. Members come from academic, industrial and governmental laboratories. Their interests include biology, toxicology, mechanisms of toxicity, safety margin, and advancement of techniques and instrumentation, synthesis, and the full spectrum of activities necessary to discover and develop a therapeutic entity.

How long have you been in business?

3 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?

We want to brand this particular forum.

What are your long term goals?

To continue to grow and refine this highly foucsed industrial discussion group.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

August 16 2007

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

Very careful, analytical people who are under heavy scrutiny and are highly accountable to their employers in the establishment of human safety margins for new drug entities.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?

Health care symbols such as the cadeceus, cross, et ceter but mixed perhaps with Accuracy and Precision symbols that come out of engineering - the compass or targets.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?

What is your tagline or slogan?

A Non-Profit National Toxicology Educational Discussion Group

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?

That this is the premier venue for their continuing education and the advancement of their ideas.

Where will your new logo be used?

Website, business cards, posters, advertising.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?

Their OK. The logos that look like data (spectra, chromatograms) are kind of nice.

List competitive URLs if possible
http://www.milestonedevelopment.com...2005/index.html
http://www.asms.org
http://www.aapspharmaceutica.com/index.asp
http://www.healthtech.com/2005/mbp/index.asp

What sets you apart from your competitors?

We are extremely applied and focused on current industrial issues critical to the healthcare community. We are also a non-profit.

Hello all,

Thanks for posting your ideas. I am extending the deadline because I am not sure that any of these will work and the admins have advised me that I ought to give more feedback.

I would say that most of the themes are chemistry oriented with a flask or a hexagon(molecule). Tox is really a bit more biologically oriented with a lot of emphasis on rats, receptors, cells, that sort of thing. I would say anything that sticks with a cadeceus is good, and I note #4 sort of has a very abstract cadecus in the swirl. The cross is OK, but I'm not sure that will do it. Something combining a skull & bones (tox) with a cadeceus (healthcare) might work well.

#'s 4, 13, and 15 all are heading in the right direction. Some of the others look like they might not come out well on a mug, pen, or a polo shirt. #10 looks a little too deadly. I think we want the cadecues to kind of triumph over the tox thing.

One reviewer has suggested a lighthouse, aka Tox as the guiding light of the industry...

Some feedback:

So far we like 4, 13, 21, 23. On 15, see our page at www.appliedpharamaceuticalanalysis.org. Combining a lower case a with an uppercase P one can wrap a snake around the P, then have the T elevated a bit. There is a feeling that the snake is at too skewed an angle currently on 15 but that could be a promising direction.

Some folks liked 16 but would like to see it without the bubbles and without the 'L' combining with the hash mark.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
I am realy sorry for the delay, but this days I am pretty short with time.

However, here is 16 without bubbles. Requested revision for 15 I will prepare for tomorrow.
Thank you for understanding.

Many good ones to choose from. Was wondering if someonw could make one more similar to the APA logo at www.appliedpharmaceuticalanalysis.org, the 'a' and the 'p' combine with the serpent around the combined 'ap' and the T either behind the AP or superscript/elevated to the right.

Here's a rough sketch in power point... (attached). The crossbones could be behind the APT in the abstract, almost like a maltese cross, or absent, whichever looks better. The website above APA logo should provide the gist.

Thanks!!

Can we see what it looks like with the 'T' next to the 'AP' rather than below it? Thanks!

Hmmm... What about getting rid of the AP altogether and just working with a 'T' with a snake around it...

Received via PM: "Would it be possible to arrange the letters APT somehow into the hexagons in some way?"

#40 is the winner! Please keep in mind that some of the other designs might be interesting to us for a subsequent logo project.
