This logo is for a hotdog street vending cart business that I am starting up. Since my name is Frank, I came up with the name "Frank n' Furters". I'm starting with just the logo, but will eventually want to encorporate it into a website template as well. Please see the project summary below for more details.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Frank n' Furters, LLC
What type of product or service do you offer?
Hot Dog Vending Cart.
How long have you been in business?
New Business.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Attract customers to pull off the road to visit my cart.
What are your long term goals?
Eventually operate several carts in multiple locations, perhaps maybe even a "street cart" franchise.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
August 28th.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Traffic coming from & going to the Jersey Shore area. Truck drivers, etc.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Fun and a tasty weiner!
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I have two ideas in my head: One is a big lovable "Frankenstein" like character wearing either a chef's or hotdog vendor's hat pushing a hot dog cart and holding a hot dog with a grilling fork.
The other is also a "Frankenstein" like character, but in the likeness of a hot dog.
Both logos would encorporate the "Frank n' Furters" name and "HOTDOG GOOD!" tagline.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Not sure... Hot dogs are rust colored, red/yellow are traditionally associated with hotdogs, green seems to be typically associated with Frankenstein. I'm open to ideas though.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Big but lovable cartoon Frankenstein character pushing a hot dog cart or Frankenstein character in the likness of a hotdog.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Fun, street vending cart, Frankenstein.
What is your tagline or slogan?
"HOTDOG GOOD!"
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Fun, street vending cart, Frankenstein.
Where will your new logo be used?
On the cart itself, banner, business cards, website.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Not aware of logos for other street cart vendors, but here's the logo that gave me the idea for the Frankenstein hotdog likeness: http://www.njsitedesign.com/logo.htm (See Frank n' Fries logo at bottom of page)
There's also an interesting lovable black & white Frankenstein character wearing a chef's hat shown in the table of contents page of the book "Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich" by Adam Rex. Amazon let's you peek inside the book. The chef character is on page four and can be located via this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0152057668/ref=sib_dp_pt/102-0227692-7409735#reader-link (click the arrows to the right of the book cover to get to the table of contents page).

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Great tasting hotdogs aside, most street vendors just setup a cart/umbrella and sell their franks by the side of the road. I'm trying to use the "Frank n' Furters" logo to attract customers and call attention to my carts.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
HOTDOG... GOOD!
