XOGENT, LC - New Biz

XOGENT, LC is a technology consulting firm that specializes in maintaining existing technology infrastructure and recommending and implementing new technology for small businesses.

Our current website is located at http://www.xogent.com.

Our tagline is: "engineering greater efficiency and productivity through technology". We have also used: "Your technology partner" in some marketing materials.

We are looking for a logo that projects the following: Professional and technologically cutting edge. We would also like it to be "cool" looking.

We already have a website that uses the following colors, but are not wedded to them as we can change our CSS to accommodate a new logo. Current colors: #006699, #CCCC99, #003366, WHITE and BLACK.

The name XOGENT symbolizes the crossroads (X) of technology and industry the "convergence" if you will. The LC stands for "limited company" and doesn't have to be in the logo, unless it works with the design.

The logo will go on just about everything - mugs, toys, website, business cards, printed materials, etc. - so we'll need something that's easily transferable (I.e., vector - Adobe Illustrator (10) is preferred).

We will begin printing new marketing materials on 09/26/2003 and would really like to be able to put the new logo on the materials.

Nice job. Could you rotate the bands around the sphere such that they look more like an X than a +?

We like the bottom of the two sphere designs but would like to see a lot less gradient (if any at all).

We're getting ready to make a decision on the logo and would really like to see the changes before we decide anything.

How would you integrate our longer tagline - "engineering greater efficiency and productivity through technology" - into this design.

Could you make the bands appear as though there is more motion?

Could you also make the bands assymetrical (i.e., 1 band wider in front, 1 band wider in back)?

We really like both of your designs, but would like to see your changes before making our final decision.

I removed all gradients and rotated as requested. Also, tried a few different fonts and 2 new variations. :D

A couple of things:

1. If anyone else plans on being in on this competition then today's the day. We'll be taking these designs around to friends and family to get opinions and make a decision.

2. We would like to see the following 2 minor tweaks from RadicalSEED and ElKootcho:

ElKootcho, we'd like for this whole logo thing to fit in a nice rectangle, so I squashed it and made it look like crap. This is kinda where we're headed though if you can make it look visually appealing again.

RadicalSEED, I like your updated designs, but would like to see our colors in the logo. I didn't do a great job with it, but if you make it look better it would help me to decide. I like these 2 fonts and would love to see the updated logo with both.
