My bad, I didn't put the amount in the desc.
Design contest
Hello, my name is Diane Manning and I own a cat sitting business called Relaxicat. I am in need of a logo that I can use on my website, printed materials, t-shirts, etc. I will also use it in advertisements - yellow pages, etc. so it should be easy to read.
What I have in mind is something that conveys caring, loving, and at the same time conveys professionalism. I chose the name Relaxicat because I thought it was catchy and memorable and because cats like to relax at home so it would be great if the logo could also somehow convey this idea.
Please check out my website at www.relaxicat.com so that you can see what colors I use. I think the color of the top line is called "indigo" and it's hexadecimal code is 333399 if that helps at all. I also made some matching printed materials using Microsoft Publisher. I can try to send them. If you're familiar with Publisher, I use the color scheme called "dark blue" on my printed materials. I've read that the color blue conveys stability which I feel is important to my cat-owning clients.
I've looked at the forums to see some desins for other pet sitters and overall I prefer the more monotone designs over the colorful ones.
I would like the contest completed by October 7, 2003. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Here are a couple of ideas...

Thanks pennyln. Wow, that was fast! Although both logos are great, I definately like the top one the better than the bottom one. I like the cat image and the font for the "professional cat sitting service" part. I also think that the top one might be easier to read than the bottom one. I also like the emphasis on the "cat" part of "Relaxicat". That's a good idea!

I would like to see the "Relaxicat" part of the top design with some different fonts. Also, the colors are perfect!
Here are five more text treatments, please advise.

I like all of them but I especially like the bottom one. Nice idea to have the "Cat" part slightly lower, that's great.

Thanks Juliet, those are very nice. I like the fonts and colors for #2. Can I see the cat silhouette in #2 in different positions? I like the cat face in #4, he looks happy. Can I see #4 with some colors other than yellow? Also, can you put a body with the face?

Thank you Zing, that design is very unique. At first I didn't like it but it's beginning to grow on me. Can I see the cat in a couple of different colors?

By the way, I saw a design by wiseguy for Creature Comforts that caught my eye, it was a cat on a bed. Maybe somebody could do something similar for me?
Could you provide some ideas of colours you would like to see please. I was thinking maybe different hues of blue (so pretty monotone)?
I know that this really isn't what you are asking for but I felt very abstract today :) Please lemme know if its a possible :) thanks!
Oh and here is another version of my previous logo:

Diane,
Here are your requested changes to my originals. I also took your idea of a cat sitting on a bed into consideration and came up with an alternative, a cat sitting on a pleasingly plump and comfy chair.
Feedback is welcomed!

Zing, to answer your question about which colors I like, I prefer blue colors. I like the very top line color from my website which I believe is called "indigo" (www.relaxicat.com). Although I like the abstract cat it's not exactly what I'm looking for in a logo. I liked the color and fonts you used though.
Taldo, can you make the cat look more relaxed and happy? Maybe put a different face on him.
Juliet, that's great! I like the position of the cats in 2-2. I also like the cat in the chair in 4-3. I'm partial to big orange cats and also "tuxedo" cats. :)

Julie, can you add the words "professional cat sitting service" to 4-3 and 2-2?
Thanks!

Diane,
Here are your changes. I've also included black and white versions of the logo for an idea of how they would look if you choose to print a few things that way.

I like the egyptian feel of that top cat, Kimber. It's got a great "regal" quality. :notworthy:

Thanks for your compliment, 'Kootch. :)
InFocus, if your cat were any more relaxed... we'd have to check her pulse. :D

Today is the last day of my logo contest. You all did such wonderful work, this will be a tough decision! I will probably take a couple of days to get other people's opinions and make up my mind.

I think I've narrowed it down to the very first design by pennyln, but first I'd like to see how it would look on a white t-shirt and a business card.

I would like to thank all the designers who worked on my logo. Everyone's designs were very professional.
In the end, pennyln's posting was the design that I selected as the winning logo.
