Admin code added by Abby - 2RB63986JB8373410

What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
"Adregate" - Doesn't really matter what the case of the letters are.

What type of product or service do you offer?
Adregate is an ad management web application that lets web publishers management advertisements on their site.

How long have you been in business?
Adregate is a new application that has yet to be released publicly.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
To establish a unique brand that is professional but is NOT uptight.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
September 7, 2007

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Users will be website owners such as bloggers or web content producers.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something that can stand on its own without text. Many times "adregate" will be included with it, but I would like something that isn't completely reliant on having the name beside it. Ultimately I don't want a text-based logo but something that is more icon based with text that goes with it.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
A brighter blue color. The blues in the current "placeholder" logo here (http://adregate.com) are what I have in mind. The deep blue of the background is what the logo needs to fit with.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Not really. I do want to get away from the speech bubble icon.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Simplicity.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
That Adregate is a new/simple way to manage and sell ads for your site. You don't have to be a computer nerd to figure out how to get ads on your website.

Where will your new logo be used?
Primarily in online mediums.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Openads is my primary competior. I don't really like theirs at all. It's just not memorable and it's text based.

List competitive URLs if possible
openads.org

What sets you apart from your competitors?
Simple. Nothing to install on your server. Purposefully less features.

UPDATE: Something I posted in some feedback below I think will apply to everyone, so here's that comment posted up here.

I don't really want just a play on the letter "a". I want an icon that conveys the product and what it does...which is deliver marketing/advertising to customers. The speech bubble I currently use is sort of an example of that by showing "communication"...which is ultimately what advertisers are wanting.

Hi djaka. Please read the creative brief:

Ultimately I don't want a text-based logo but something that is more icon based with text that goes with it.

Thanks for everyone's entries so far!

Here's something to note that will apply to many of you.

I don't really want just a play on the letter "a". I want an icon that conveys the product and what it does...which is deliver marketing/advertising to customers. The speech bubble I currently use is sort of an example of that by showing "communication"...which is ultimately what advertisers are wanting.

That being said, here's feedback for each of you.

@elogonics: The serif font and the "swoosh" just feels too plain and uptight. It honestly makes me think of a hotel or airline. I can't say I really like anything about it.

@giant: I'm not really feeling the "pyramid" look. Can't really say there's much here I like.

@Rongen: Like I said in my original post, I'm wanting to get away from the speech bubble. Overall the logo just feels plain and un-engaging.

@Logoholik: On Version 1: I'm not really a fan of the typeface used for "adregate." Also the simple "a" in the square doesn't really do anything to convey meaning. On Version 2: I like the colors you used for the iconic element. Maybe try another typeface or two. Ideally I'd like to stay away from something rounded (too cliche for web applications). On Version 3: I like this typeface out of all you used on each version. Could you try a few different colors for the icon element?

@Blesseville: I'm not really feeling either version. See the note above about using the "a" as the icon element.

Here is some more feedback on things.

Logoholik - I'm liking your Version 9 logo the best. How do you see the icon element representing the product, though? Could you possibly do a couple of other new ideas for the icon element?

Rongen - I don't think this is really the style or look I'm going for at all. It looks like a sports company logo to me.

Unorthodox - I don't really care for either version. They don't really convey anything as far as I can see and and, similar to Rongen, just feel like sports company logos to me.

Blesseville - Version 3 just feels dated. I think it's a mixture of the serif typeface and the "picture" icon. I don't really see anything here I care for.

giant - This looks more like a real-estate logo or some stock icon. I don't see how it fits this project at all.

djaka - The typeface feels cheesy and the icon is way to busy to work at a smaller scale.

Bogglins - Thanks for your entry. This is just a bit too cartoonish for this market. It needs to have some air of professionalism but just not look extremely corporate.

This concept has plenty of meanings that all goes towards the nature of adregate.
It can be a horizon (abstract), a subtle letter A, a folded paper ad, a flying web-page, a kite, and a unique talk-bubble.

I'm honestly at a loss here. I'm afraid no one is really hitting the nail on the head with anything thus far. I'm really not sure what else to suggest.

The only thing I can think of is to ask for more ideas.

I'd like to suggest posting some logos that you like. This may be of some help understanding the style that you're after.
