Im unable to bid on contracts.... I try but get "shut up" because im apparently not a member of the "design team" yet... Im 17 and am a mint designer... I created www.EliteGamersWorld.com entirely out of swish. If any1 here has used swish b4 you would understand the difficulty.
I been hired by over 20 clients major, and small projects. And after looking at what some of the "competitors" were presenting for template solutions I almost gaged. Naturally Im not going to say names, that isnt right. But I do feel that I should be able to bid on a project especially if people who arnt even close to the same calibure of skill can...
I no i sound arogant here and I really honestly do appologize but it really frustrates me, that when im trying to advance in the design world i get pushed back because of an unfaire technacality.
I spoke to the moderator (owner) of this site, he was pretty good about explaining to me what the system is here, but I still dont see why I need to wait a week to a month just to be accepted (If i ever get accepted) to the "design team" so that I can post my interest in project developments.
Am I alone here or does any1 else agree?
Im not trying to stir up trouble here, I very much would like to be apart of this system I just dont understand the wait.

Hi xCenTroiD
If you are 'mint' as you say, then you will no doubt eventually be accepted as part of the team.
Relax, it may just be that Palmer is very busy (we all are!)...and, crucially, it's a very fine balancing act between supply and demand.

Well I thought we had worked this out and I patiently explained my reasons for running the site the way it is privately with you, but it looks as if you would like to make some kind of public judgement of our site so here is an explanation of why you will never be a member of the Design Team.
This is my business and if you are on our Design Team you are a representative of my company. The way you conduct yourself with the staff, the contest holders, and the other members of the Design Team is more important to me than how well you design.
This site is run very differently compared to other freelancer sites. I take great pride in the professionalism that the client can expect from members of the team. Obviously the success of the site is a reflection of previous customer's experience at Design Outpost. You may notice all the pet sitting or landscaping contests here. That is the power of treating your clients the right way. If you make them happy, they tell their friends and their friends use your service too. I do my best to be very particular on who gets to participate at this site because it is my goal to continue it's success for many years to come.
Whether you like the way I run my business or not, you can't argue with its success and that success is directly related to how the customer, and the other member's are treated by representatives of the site.
An immature, troublemaking, arrogant person like yourself is not what we need to continue our success. If you are so good, you will be turning away clients in no time. Best of luck to you, you'll need it.

A lot points to the fact that you are only 17. Obviously some people grow up faster than others. You may have a bit of talent when it comes to pushing the buttons of Swish but you have a lot to learn about how the world really works. As you get older and a bit more mature, you'll realize that people skills are just as important as technical skills. I'd dare to say that they are even more important. I'm sure we all know someone that is a bit of a dunce but manages to succeed because they are truely a "people person".
I really hope that you take this as a lesson that bashing people and their solutions will get you no where. Had you simply been polite and helpful, as are all the designers here at Design Outpost, you would have likely been granted a position on the team. If you are as good as you claim, you'd be cleaning up on the contests. But a guess we'll never know.
I'm all for one waving their own flag. (If you don't, who will?) But not at the expense of others. That just makes you look like an ***.

"Rome wasnt built in a day.."
You should have been more patient, bit your tongue until you were accepted then shown us your self-proclaimed brilliance.
Posting your arrogance on a public forum such as this has not only alienated yourself from the designers here but also the numerous contest holders and frequent guests.
Im sure Palmer will show you the stats...
A big thumbs down for you!!

Hmmm. Drone.Solutions, DO is a private business and you can not ignore this fact.
Plus, your posts mean that it is necessary for you to understand much more. ;)
Good luck. Hope (but not sure) you'll draw some conclusions which can help you.

It seems as if you just want to post your interest in projects, but here you have to post work, Palmer could let you post an interest in every contest and even a entry if he wanted too. However if you are not part of the design team and you post the best work we have ever seen you will never get paid, so whats the point moaning about it. Palmer dishes out the dosh.
