Audience Profile:
Our target market will be recreational in-shore sport-fishermen, not to be confused with pleasure boaters. We are marketing the type of boats that can be seen at http://www.skeeterboats.com/product_pages/zxsaltboats/zx20bay.html. The market demographics will be geared towards individuals (fishing inthusiasts) that dream of owning their own boats, but either cannot afford or justify the purchasing of them.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Simple and rememberable. We believe our domain, BoatClub.com is marketable in itself. And, would like the logo to reflect that. I would like the logo to read only "BoatClub.com" with light design or art work incorporated in it. I would like it to look sharp and professional, not cartoony.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?) Red or blue, but not both. I like to leave it up to creative design.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo? Maybe a boat propeller or a line and hook. I am open to suggestions, however.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? Professional and high-tech. Not the "red neck" stereotype that can sometimes be associated with fishing.
What is your tagline or slogan? Own the Dream
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience? BoatClub.com offers an affordable alternative to purchasing a boat. Allows the consumer to enjoy all the benefits of owning a boat, without the expense and hassle.
Where will your new logo be used? Internet website and ads, print media.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos? Freedomboatclub.com. They have a nice logo, but it is geared more towards leisure boating. It gives you more of a relaxed feeling. I don't want our logo to be overpowering, but would like it to reflect our business as being geared more towards to sport of fishing and not leisure boating.
List competitive URLs if possible
www.freedomboatclub.com, www.carefreeboats.com (a division of Freedom Boat Club)
What sets you apart from your competitors?
BoatClub.com offers an affordable alternative to purchasing a boat. We currently have competitors in a similar but not direct market. No one currently offers, through rentals, clubs, or partial share ownership, the ability to use and own the boats we are offering. To have access to our product a consumer would have to either hire a fishing guide or purchase a boat of their own.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: Own the Dream
