I have gotten a logo designed on design outpost and now we want it put in good use :)
So I would like the stationary package A, that is: single side business card, Letterhead and envelope.
Our wishes for the visual identity:
Don't quite know, but maybe something that used the "balls" from the logo in some way, to tie the logo and the identity together?
-or maybe something totally different, that looks cellphone/game -like?
Ressources
I have attached the different versions of the logo, that we have recieved, in both jpg and eps format.
They are in both portrait and landscape version and I think we prefer the lanscape version. -but you are free to experiment.
What data has to be presented on the letterhead / envelopes
Company name (PortaPlay)
Product
website
office email adress
office telephone number
Adress (street + zip + city + country)
What has to be on the business cards
Company name (PortaPlay)
Product
Employee name
Position
email adress
direct telephone number
office telephone number
Adress (street + zip + city + country)
website
To describe our company, let me recite what i wrote when i "ordered" the logo:
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
PortaPlay (please keep that capitalization)
What type of product or service do you offer?
Mobile phone / Cellular phone, peer-2-peer, multiplayer gaming
How long have you been in business?
-a half year, PortaPlay is a start-up-company.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Attract attention to the company, get press coverage on our upcoming products (multiplayer, mobile / cellular phone games), give the impression of an innovativ and serious company,
What are your long term goals?
Produce and distribute mobile games worldwide, participate in joined ventures with existing brands, with in-game advertisement on mobile phones.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
15. sep.
Audience Profile:
Companies, press, business associates.
The logo will target the business end of the company, while the products will be launched under a brand name. But if the logo can also target our consumers, that would be great.
Our consumers are 15-30 year old, frequent mobile users, which are neither tech-geeks nor late movers.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
For our former company name (UrbanChallenge) we had this Logo delivered: http://www.vonknut.com/photo/urbanchallenge_logo.gif
-which we were very sattisfied with.
Its both simple, iconographic and communcates the gaming aspect. But maybe its a bit too aggressive / more apropriate for the game-brand?
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Red, Blue, Black, maybe a bit metallic or shiny.
It has to be fresh and maybe a bit sporty, not "in your face and to the max" but a little upbeat and still classic
Communication Strategy:
What is your tagline or slogan?
No tagline, but our main "buzz-words" reagarding the company are:
Knowledge/science driven, viral distribution, userdriven innovation and unique solutions that actually works.
The buxx-words regarding the product are:
Fun, fast, social, viral, easy to use and cheap.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, business cards, splash screen on the mobile.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Mobile game company doing text-adventure games for women. Their doing pretty good by targeting their product, but are not very innovative regarding games and technology.
http://www.3rdperson.dk/
-the puzzlepiece / guy is ok.
Tech-able guys doing solid games, but aren't too strong in the distribution division.
http://www.progressivemedia.dk/
-the rocket logo is really nice, classic and oldschool, but maybe a bit too oldschool?
What sets you apart from your competitors?
The competitors are using the mobile as a classic gaming platform, regarding it as a new gameboy. We are using the mobiles social dimension in combination with the gaming aspects.
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Doing better by getting the basics right.

Hi, thanks for the entries, now comments:
Matello:
Like the layout, but are not sure about the faded red - looks a bit too dull / dead. -maybe dresh it up a bit?
By the way, we like the cooperate look, but is it too serious?
-maybe something a bit more "wild", without getting over the line...
Lutfi:
Like the simplicity, which also looks good in B/W, but I thinkt think it looks more like its an art-company. -the balls looks a bit like brush-dots or something like that.
And i prefer the horisontal version of the business cards, call me conservative :)
Djaka:
Maybe a bit over the line with the use of the balls :)
-especially in the vertical business card, where everything gets kinda small.
Like bit with the text in the bottom (letterhead), but maybe not with the text centered...
and the black&white version.
Thank you

We have come to a decision, and choose Lutfi's work in post 13/14.
We have a single comment though:
We are not totally wild about the "curve" in the left corner.
-can we see a version of the material, without it?
Granted, it can give som problems with the white balls, dunno if you can come up with a fix?
And then to a little request:
We forgot to request a Powerpoint slide template, in the original posting. Is that something that can be thrown in as well ?)
-regards, Hans von Knut

Thank you.
This is the revision based on your suggestions.
I have questions:
• Where would you like to print this stationary? (if use vistaprint.com, I should adjust the businesscard size little bit, because they have different size standard).
• Could you please supply the fixed informations for: Address, Phone number, etc?
• PowerPoint slide template can be made with additional cost. Please Contact:

Sounds good, I have send her an email and will get the money transferred asap.
Regarding the white balls, we still got some problems, as we don't think the outline fits with the massive balls.
Maybe only use blue and black?
or
Use blue, black and grey, so it will make 3 different nuances in B&W ?

Regarding the powerpoint we need two slides:
1. title master (titel and subtitle)
2. As the one above - content slide, but I would prefer the "slide title" placed in the upper left corner. Maybe the logo could fit where the domain is placed right now??
Edit:
apart from that I think were content with the look.
-so if you just make the last changs to the slides, were good to go

Hej LutFi it looks good, have a single question though:
Right now the PP template is made with the elements in the "normal page" and not in the master, can we get it with all layout made as slide masters?
-or is that impossible because of the difference between the 2 slides?

OK, you can actualy do that, as far is i know, but newermind, well figure it out.
So i guess its time to say:
Files recieved and everything looks fine. Were satisfyed and payment can be made.
-Thanks for the work, Hans
EDIT: UPS, not quite done yet, have just found some problems:
The colours in the PP are different from the original colours in the logo.
And the colours in the PP als differs from the print material.
-when I check the colour codes in illustrator the print material checks out with the original logo. So the print material is cool. But there are some differences between these 2 parts and the PP. Mainly its the blue and the red that differs quite a bit.
But when this is fixed, were got to goo :)

Hello Hans,
I'm Sorry for late reply. I was really sick for several days.
And I didn't noticed your edited notes.
I have re-checking All print material that has been sent to you, all are using exact color as your attached logo at message #1 in this thread.
And for the Power Point Template I found there's slight different color, I figured perhaps my first PP template was made in PP Mac version.
So I remake the PP template on PP PC version directly along with 2 different slides as Slide Master Design. And All color has been matched to your original Logo.

Hey Lutfi, thanks for the files, still have the problem though.
I know that the print files (cmyk) and the screen files (RGB) will look a bit different, when they printed and shown on the screen. But right now the PP-version's colours differs a lot from when we look at the logo.
-Basicly the red is a bit too light (almost pink) and the blue is a bit dark.
I know that there is some colourspace-conversion-problems, but the colour difference between the rasterrized and the vector logo is too notisable. So was it possible to do something to fix it?
And just out of coriousity, which vectorformat have you been using for the PP (WMF, or what, and which program can do that?). When we use EPS it looks like ****, and also fooks up the colours.

Hello Hans,
To be honest, right now, I'm the one who confused.
I've checked all the color both on my Mac and PC and All color of the Print and the latest PowerPoint are SAME color with your original logo attached in Message # 1. There's file in zip file named PortaPlayLogo.eps.
That is your original logo. And that is the based file.
Both in my PC and Mac the color is same.
I'm NOT see the red is a bit too light (almost pink) and the blue is a bit dark.
If you checked the color in Adobe Illustrator CS.
Red color is Pantone 282 U.
RGB: R 255. G 17. B 0.
Blue color is Pantone 485 U.
RGB: R 6. G 24. B 68.
And the latest PP file color is already set to RGB to match your original logo.
Your given original logo PortaPlayLogo.eps is using spot Pantone color.
If you export it to rasterized CMYK, of course the color will be dropped.
And the production cost will be much expensive (4 color)
If you gave the vectorfile (.ai file) to the printer, and use spot Pantone color.
The production cost will be much affordable (only 2 color)
And the printed color result, will be matched with your original logo.
To keep all in the best shape and color, for PowerPoint you should use .EMF(Enhanced Meta File) vector based-file. You can simply use Adobe Illustrator CS, go to menu File> Export> choose in pull down menu EMF.
I hope it will help you.
Thank you
LutFi.

Hey, to specify:
"websitelogoscreendump" is a printscreen of the website, the color codes are:
Blue: 002D62
Red: EE2E24
"ailogoscreendump" is a printscreen of the AI file:
Blue: 002D62
Red: EE2E24
"AIbusinesscardscreendump" is a printscreen of the AI file with the business card (same color codes when exportet to PDF for print):
Blue: 002D62
Red: EE2E24
"ppscreendump" is a screendump of the PP file (same colourcodes when you eksport it to PDF):
Blue: 061844
Red: FF1100
"pppreviewscreendump" is a printscreen of the same PP file in previev mode (show slideshow):
Blue: 061844
Red: FF1100
So the point is:
The colourcodes differs in the PP, and this difference looks very notisable.
Dunno why, dunno how, but that is what i can observe....
Maybe something is wrong with the original EPS file, which doesnt match the original AI files?
-and if you have used the EPS for the PP and the AI for the business cards, that could have made the error?

Thank you, for inform me with all color comparations.
I'm still can't find why the color are different,
because I also here checked all final file that has been sent to you, here are the results in attachment.
BC_Screen is a printscreen of the AI file with the business card:
Blue: 061844
Red: ff0d00
EPS_Screen is a printscreen of the your Original EPS Logo file:
Blue: 061844
Red: ff0d00
PP_Screen is a printscreen of the PowerPoint file:
Blue: 061844
Red: ff1100
PP_Preview_Screen is a printscreen of preview PowerPoint file:
Blue: 061844
Red: ff1100
I'm sure that your EPS file is fine, because I compare EPS with BC ai file as mention above and the color are same.
As For the PP file I find the blue color are all same with print file and EPS file.
I've tried to use EPS in PP but it can't load anything in my PP. Usually use EMF file to maintain the shape vector and color.
Color rendering between software sometimes different.
I think the color rendering between Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator CS are also different.
Because sometimes I also find same file have the color difference when view between in Adobe and ACD See (photo viewer) for example.
I use your EPS file as based for all print ai file also for PP file (EPS can't be load in my PP so I export as EMF)

So basicly our 2 versions of AI uses different colourcodes, when they open the AI file...
But right now I'm pretty satisfyed with my version of AI's use of colours, as they match what the original logo looked like, when seen on the homepage. But apparantly PP uses the colours that match with your "colourlayout", which makes the colours differ from the original logo-look as seen on the webpage. In other words, the only problem right now, in our end, is the different colours in the PP.
So the easy fix would be just to change the colour codes for the EMF version of the logo, that goes in the PP. -so they match with how it looks in our end. That is: blue: 002D62, Red: EE2E24
-is that something you can do?
-then I'll promise that there are no more fuss :)
