(Admin code added by Palmer - 82N77606TX6929335)

This project is designing a book cover.

There is a codeword contained in the project description (or a an attached file) that will be easily seen if the entire project description is read through. YOU MUST REPLY WITH THE CODEWORD OR YOUR BID WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The deliverable products for the hard copy jacket and paperback covers are a Photoshop (psd) file in CYMK at 225 DPI.

The total dimensions are as follows:
hard copy jacket = 19.75" wide X 8.5" tall
paperback cover = 11.25" wide X 8" tall
Divide dimensions are given in attached word files by name.

eBook graphics are also needed based on the same design. I am giving pixel dimensions for the eBook flat and separate 3D's (2 for each type) in an attached word file named dim_recap_and_other. The deliverable products for these graphics are a Macromedia Fireworks (png) file.

The deadline for submissions is Fri., Sept. 21, 2007, 12:00 PM CST.

I am attaching 5 files:
dim_recap_and_other.doc - this is a recap of the dimensions of the separate items and additional instructions.

tdi_hardcover_jacket.doc - required wording, ideas and divide dimensions for the hardcover jacket.

tdi_paperback_cover.doc - required wording, ideas and divide dimensions for the hardcover jacket.

book_excerpts.doc - excerpts from the book itself that contain the ideas I would like to relate in the cover design (FYI, I am the author).

unlab_Publishers_logo.png - logo file that will be inserted in cover design.

Notes:
-Please include all of my text in your design.
-Please include a placeholder for a photograph of the author on the back. Should be ready by submission deadline.
-Please review desireable color schemes on the sample covers and graphics I have attached web addresses for below.
I will answer all posts promptly.
-PLEASE NOTE THE STATED / TYPED DIMENSIONS IN THE WORD FILES I AM PROVIDING, THE RULE LINES IN THE WORD DOCS MAY NOT INDICATE THE PROPER DIMENSIONS.

Printer Notes:
-Having color breaks on the front and back covers where it butts up to the spine and where they break over to the flaps is not recommended.
-All spine type and non-bleeding images should maintain at least 1/16" on each side of the spine dimensions.
-All rule lines should extend the full spine dimension.
-Keep all type and non-bleeding images at least 1/4" from all trim edges.
-Front of back coverbleeds should allow for a 3/8" board wrap.

Yes!! Ralf, I knew you could do it! I love the cover with the beach scene and globe. I love the font you've used. Carry on! I will be working on shooting the author picture today and upload it to you as soon as it is done. I was thinking black and white originally but I'll have it done in color and b&w in the same setting and will appreciate your thoughts. Thank you for giving it a shot...you've been wildly successful!

I have uploaded 3 different author photos. They are not professional. Please use your creativity to select, crop and adjust the photo you feel will fit best with the cover. Be honest. I can have a pro shoot them if need be.
