Ok, here goes. I'm note sure at all what I am doing, but I have confidence that I am in good hands. I am a Youth Minister at Union City Christian Church, and I am looking for a logo for our Youth Ministries. So, the technical name is "Union City Christian Church Youth Ministries." Long Name!! Feel free to abbreviate to UCCC Youth Ministries or whatever you see fit.

Size, shape, or color does not really matter. (As you'll see I am not too picky.) It would be nice if it had a cross somewhere in the logo, but is not necessary.)

I am looking for something that is not necessarity neat and clean cut, but more on the messy or grungy side, but who knows, a nice, clean, cut logo may hit me right.

I guess what I am saying is surpise me. :o I will post opinions and suggestions after I see a couple posts. Thanks in advance for all the great designs.

Oh yeah, I forgot to let you know. This logo will be going on several things from business cards to t-shirts to a web site. It must be scaleable. Other than that, it is up to you!!

Dan, I think what you did is really good, but it seems too old. Let em explain. The adults at church would probably love it (which may not be a bad thing), but I want something that seems more teen oriented. Something that Middle School and High School Students would think is cool.


Synax, I think that looks pretty cool. I like the font and I like how it appears shaky. Do you have a different logo that you could put on the right side of it instead of the three crosses. I like the crosses, but would like to see alternatives.

OK, here goes...

Crimsondesigner - I like the idea, but I'm not sure about the colors (especially that yellow/green color. Also, try changing up some of the fonts. I like the script, but not for what I would be using it for. My main ministry is in Jr. High and High School Students. When you see whatever logo I pick, I would like you to think - Jr. High and High School.

Sparkie - I really like the hands. The only problem I see is that they are really faint. (Maybe that is what you wanted.) Try making them a little more bold.


I've added a picture that I borrowed from another Youth Minister and changed the group to mine. I think I'm having a hard time explainig what I mean when I say I want it to appeal to teens. I feel this one somewhat appeals to teens. I don't want a copy of this logo, I just wanted you to see where I was coming from.

You guys are doing a great job. It is incredible to work with you all!!

I'm having a hard time conveying what I want, and I have just had a moment of inspiration. A lot of my kids in the youth group are skateboarders. I don't want anything with a skateboard on it, but I want something that looks grungy. As a matter of fact, I want something that would look at home on a skateboard T-Shirt. I hope I haven't ticked anybody off. I was just having a hard time explaining what I wanted.

WWWZONE - I really like the first picture. I like the colors you picked and I like the little guy. I'm not sure about the other two. It seems like there is too much going on in the picture. Oh yeah, I like the shadow effect in the first drawing. :D

DAN - I really like the simplicity of the logo. I really like the font!! Would you be able to take the stuff out of the background though? I like it, but I'm not sure if it really leans toward a youth ministry feel. If you could incorporate a cross, or an ichthus, in that design (the drafting look) that might look even better!! :rolleyes:

Synax - I like the picture, and I'm sure there are quite a few kids who would wear a T-shirt with that on it, but I'm not sure about it being my primary logo. It seems a little dark. Don't get me wrong, I think it is really cool, but I'm not sure how accepting youth sponsors and adults would be of that being our logo.

wwwzone - I didn't give you any suggestions, because I don't have any. You might take it and change a few things and give me some options, but that is all I can think of. Other than that I don't have any concrete changes for you to make. Sorry. Surprise me!!

I think it's a neat idea using the UCCC in a circle like that but I'd have to agree, looks more like something you'd see on a metal bands t-shirt. It is a very awesome logo, maybe just not appropriate for a church group. Jon, maybe you can stick with the UCCC in a circle but make it a little softer and rounder. Here, I did something quick to show you what I mean and I used an icthus instead of a cross (your cross looks a little like a dagger) :)

Sorry I haven't responded much in the past few days. Life's been a little crazy. But here goes.

wwwzone - I like the variations, but I'm not sure that they add any meaning to the design. (If I'm wrong, please let me know). I like the simplicity of the first design that you did without the swirly things.

dan - I like the idea, but the cross looks a little out of place (like it was just stuck there). I don't know if you can do this or not, but can you rough it up a little (like the font you are using). I really like the drafting/industrial look, but if the cross looked that way too, that would be even better!!


To everyone: The contest ends tomorrow, and I will let you know a winner either by the weekend, or on the weekend. If you have any more designs to poat, feel free. (Even after Wednesday.) You never know what might hit me the right way. Awesome work everyone. :D
