This style is fun and gives the feeling we're looking for.
If anyone wants to create further designs, this style meets our needs.
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Spider Identification.org
(experimentation with capitalizing first letters or not is up to designer).
What type of product or service do you offer?
Community based identification of spiders. People can interact with the site.
How long have you been in business?
Just starting.
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
A fun design with a spider theme as part of the logo.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Sept 28th, Friday.
Please describe your existing audience
People looking to have spiders identified, or are just a fan of learning about spiders.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Don't have one.
Where will your new logo be used?
On the given website
Don't really have competitors.

Offbeatdesign,
I think the concept is great, but the font and the quality of the spider 'drawing' isn't going over well.
But again, the idea of putting a question mark on the spider like a black widow hourglass is awesome.

Thanks. What kind of type are you looking for? Should the drawing be more iconic, or more realistic?

Probably more iconic... Font type, a bit more fun, I really don't know for sure yet. Just know that the one in your example isn't it.

No problem. Wanted to see what you thought of the idea. I'll play around with it.

Great submissions so far... I definitely like the ideas #8 #9 and #10.
Would like to stay away from a magnifying glass.

Blesseville, did you draw that spider in your last logo? Is it original?
Blesseville

Yes, it is original. As DO designers we never use clipart or such, everything is made from scratch :)

I would aways assume that's the case, just had to ask. It is quite interesting.. i'm liking him a lot.

Any chance you could mess with the colors of just the spider? Maybe an orange/green and orange/blue combination.
You can leave the font out of it, I'm just curious to see color variations that are more woodsy for the hat and magnifying glass.
Thanks.

Thanks to everyone's submissions.
Winner is #34.
Please send me an EPS vector file for just the cartoon spider guy without the text. The text can be in a seperate file.
Thanks so much!
