Hello, my name is A.J. Clay – Co owner of a site that advertises on this forum. Over the past 3 months I have been watching the contest here and finally decided to dip my toes in and see how warm the water is.

Company name: Fontsville.com

Services provided: Free fonts – will be almost 10,000 fonts we hope.

Colors: I am very open for your ideas on colors. Here is the color we will use to showcase the fonts:
http://www.fontsville.com/images/fontlayout.gif
(no pink hehe)

Style: We were set on the “city limit sign” but we noticed that another site (similar name) used the same idea. We are still not against this style but it does open our mind to other options. I am very open for ideas, but to compete with other font site we will need it to be wild and FUN!

Deadline: October 8th (unless a winner is selected before the deadline)

How I will use the logo: Obviously used on the website, banners ads, business cards, letterheads, envelopes and other advertisements.

I am hoping to get the logo in the formats that will allow me to use it for these listed above.

I will watch to see your entries and I wish you all the best of luck!

Thanks for your time,
AJC

Just so nobody gets confused. There may be 2 people giving comments on the logos, AxisHost and Fontsville. Good luck

pennyln,

Nice concept, "It's a bird, it's a plane... NO IT'S FONTMAN!"

Can font man have a body?

Entry #1 - I LOVE THIS IDEA! I used to live near Las Vegas and your logo reminds me of the Casino signs out there. Can I see the top one shrunk down as small as it will go to see if it will fit on a normal size banner ad?

Entry – 2 Very nice also! Can you shrink that one down as well, very nice entry and a great way to catch my eye…. 2 nice entries!!!!!!!!!

RadicalSEED

I think this is a great start but we need it to be wild and fun.. something that catches your eye and when you think about downloading fonts… you remember the logo/look of our site. Maybe add something to it to make it look like a real city limits sign.

dynagirl

This is what I mean when I say WILD… different but easy, I REALLY like this entry, can you do the entry #1 with the blue arrowand maybe change the color of the dots (since they are blue right now) I like the one with .com on it best I think.

OVERALL

I am shocked how well this thing has started off, You all are AWESOME!
Will be hard to make up my mind… but I will hehe

Keep em coming!

Here, I jsut swapped hte colors of the arrow and the dots, but if you're not fond of the red, I could always try another color for the dots.

Raja - Looks very nice, a concept I would not have thought up myself (that is a good thing) colors do match perfectly!!! Outstanding!!!!!!!!!

dynagirl – I like this version better! Thanks for the changes.

ElKootcho – They fit! I was afraid they wouldn’t. the casino one is still one of my favorites.

Eagle – WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like it A LOT! Can that one fit on a banner?

Overall – Perhaps every entry needs to include a preview of what the logo looks like in a banner ad. We will advertise our site and we want to make sure the logo has the same effects when really small.

AWESOME WORK EVERYONE!

Here's some quick 'banners' so you can see the logo at small size...the main logo does need tweaking (simplifying) a bit though. :)

Hi

It's just that I'd like to 'rebalance' the logo by taking out one, maybe two 'streaks'...the streaks as they are (in my view) tend to overwhelm the Fontsville part... B)

Otherwise, it's quite an eyecatcher!

Eagle - I agree. When the logo is full screen it looks GREAT but the smaller it gets the harder it is to see the name Fontsville.

But i still like it, can i see it ummm i dont know, say 250 pixels wide

ElKootcho - can we see this logo with 2 tone orange/yellowish to match something like this:
http://www.fontsville.com/images/fontlayout.gif
the darker color can be more of an orange instead of the yellow.

First of all id like to thank all the current guys n gals for all thier entries for our search for the perfect logo.
Try to keep in mind that the busier the logo....the less clear it becomes as the size becomes smaller...right now I know I am not too concerned about the color combinations you decide to use as we can always have it changed when the time comes.
Until then....keep up the good work!!

Let me know what you envision and I'll mock something up
