Hi guys;
Just wondering how do I start a contest here? And at http://www.audiooutpost.com/
Some times I need to out source, and I’m always in need for sound for my flash work.
Any links to how to start a contest or previous thread related to same topic would be appreciated.

Not being critical, but, if you sometimes have so much work that you need to outsource, how are you going to have enough time to participate in contests here? Well then again, you dont technically have to participate in any right?

Hi moxsum;
I love contests ; I join for fun, and I always lose :)
for your other part of the question, as I said , in my work I’m very familiar with flash intros, so I will request sound loops , that’s the main reason I asked.

That site is such a good idea but is progressing like a turtle. the Audio Team is really anxious to get something to enter. :tup:
p.s. Thanks for the recommendation to your friend for the advertising.

Well, I am not agree with you.I also have lots of work that I am working on and waiting to be finished.And yes, they are big projects, maybe 30-40 times more money than I can get from a logo contest ( if only I win ) but still spending my time here. And mostly I steal that time from my spare time, mostly nights after baby and wife go to sleep.Why?
First of all, I don't have much experience in logo design and want to improve myself.
Second, contests are fun and I really want to see other competitors' move before/after my post and I wonder what will people do with the same idea.
And third, personel satisfaction, it is good to see your name as a winner at the end.
So, this is not a place for losers, winners also spend their time here B)
Best,

Yes, A.O. is such a great idea. I didn't come up with it so I can say that :) I don't know why it hasn't taken off yet. I guess people just don't have a need for custom sounds and music. :(

Well I was out for a few pints tonight, the first in a while actually. And I was talking to someone who builds educational cd roms for welsh language schools. He mentioned that they are always needing sound, and I dropped in about a place I know which might be able to help them.
They did point out that they could get a full days audio work for £100 GBP from the local University sound department. So I guess maybe AudO is up against such things all over ??

About $170

Yeah the standard exchange rate is about
£100 gbp = $169.610 USD standard exchange rate
$173= Standard interbank rate (avg credit card rate and PAYPAL rate)
$176= Typical cash rate (buyiing and selling)

Always handy if people need to convert the costs, I always use this when paying for stuff here on DO, as the base exchange rate is lower than the paypal exchange rate, so I always use the interbank rate =/-2% for calculating costs, which is annoying as it costs me more and I have been caught out before.

I used to use XE all the time, unfortunately when calculating the exchange rates for Paypal and other online payment processors, XE is way out. Which is why switched to oanda which offer the same resources its just more accurate for my needs :)
