We need a logo design used for business cards and web site. This is a boutique Film/Video and creative services (concepts, writing, treatments) company that specializes in commercials, documentaries, infomercials, sales and marketing videos and potentially TV programming. Clients tend to be inhouse-cable networks and or sports oriented companies (but not exclusive to sports). Clients tend to be part corporate and part artististic.
Most Wanted Entertainment is not intended to reflect an urban or street edge but is a play on words of the owners last name (James Most). The logo wants to reflect creativity, experience and cutting edge.
The company name is: Most Wanted Entertainment, Inc.
Welcome,
Please copy these questions http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7819 and then paste them into a new message here in your project along with your answers. This will help the Design Team better serve your project.
Thank you

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Most Wanted Entertainment, Inc.
What type of product or service do you offer?
Film/Video production and creative services (concepts, writing, treatment).
How long have you been in business?
Jamie Most (founder, president) has been doing this as a director, producer, creative director for 20 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Credibility as a company and not simply a freelancer.
What are your long term goals?
To offer a wide variety of creative services.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Deadline for choosing is 11.20.07 and deadline for completed project is 12.07.07
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Sports production clients, cable company clients, in house advertising clients. The clients tend to balance between corporate and artistic. They are both concerned about good creativity as long as it keeps within the budget parameters. Not too Risky, but looking for something that appears to be cutting edge.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
I would like to expand on the core group.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something that reflects creativity, experience and cutting edge. However, the name could be misconstrued as urban or street, but it is actually derived as a play on words with the founders last name (James Most), I want it to reflect the latter and stay away from any urban or street connotations.
Could be all font or an icon. I'm open to either.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
No
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No, but stay away from “street” font or icons etc.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
We are in the Film/Video production business which includes directing, writing potentially editing commercials, documentaries, infomercials, sales and marketing and down the line TV programming.
What is your tagline or slogan?
None
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Creativity, Experience, cutting edge company that works in a boutique environment but also understands the corporate world in which our clients operate.
Where will your new logo be used?
Business Cards and Web site.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Small production companies, creative service companies and very small ad agencies in NY area.
List competitive URLs if possible
What sets you apart from your competitors?
New kid on the block
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
On point!
Hello:

I've had a chance to look these over:
NHR- Too literal w/ the icon that references a TV. A bit clunky or blocky. You do good work. Any other ideas?
Pracus:- Good combination of corporate and artistic which is my client base. Clean and streamlined with the font and I like the mirror image of M & W. I would like to see variations of this...I would also like to explore other color options.
Logoholik- Too literal with film slate on version 1. A bit too corporate on version 2. The blending of MOSTWANTED as one name w/ 2 colors could work.
Dewa Jaya- Don't like the color. Film canister icon doesn't work. Version 3 isn't right for this company because "MOST" should not be weighted more than "Wanted." I have seen your work on other postings and would like to see more designs if possible.

Designers,
Logoholik: I feel like the Font is too blocky. I feel that the blending of MOSTWANTED is nice w/ 2 colors but needs to be 2 different weights i.e. bold & thin. ? MW symbol works but I am not crazy about the background.
Jhuggins: I like both versions but lean towards v2. I like the abstract MW design Perhaps we can try to make it a just a little less abstract. Perhaps make it a LITTLE clearer that it is an M & W.
I'm leaning towards Pracus and jhuggins so far.
I also think the direction has leaned a bit too corporate. Can we explore leaning towards being more artsy and edgy. I don't want to totally lose the "Most Wanted" effect by being to straightforward and corporate. Let's try to be a bit more playful and see where it takes us.
Thanks for all the submissions so far!

jhuggins: It looks like you're first 2 versions were eaten as well. Could you re post them?
Pracus: I like your original design, can we try some variations and perhaps lean somewhat away from corporate and more towards artsy, playful, creative, edgy like to represent the boutique creative shop that Most Wanted Entertainment is?
Logoholik: can we sway away from the corporate side of Most Wanted to the artistic, creative side of the company?
NHR and Dewa Jaya: Any other ideas especially with this less corporate direction?

Designers:
Thanks for all the new submissions:
Pracus:I really like the graphic M & W but is there a way to use it and make Most Wanted Entertainment more prominent (at least Most Wanted).
Dewa Jaya: Very different from all the rest. Nice
NHR: I like the font and the lower cases. The color may not be right and the artwork reminds me of another logo (a sports team) but I can't place it.
Logoholik: I like version 5. And The blue and black is still working. Not sure about the rainbow.

Hi everyone: I'm going to push the deadline to Nov. 26.
Pracus: Any thoughts on making MOST WANTED more prominent or substantial with the new M & W treatment.
Offbeat:I like the design. The Font layout is clean and the graphic has good presence. Can we give it a little more energy? what about color? Just trying some different things?
Guetizo:Version 1 is very interesting. I like the abstract aspect of the logo and I like the shadows, depth etc. I'm not sure about the font, but I do understand the connection between the font and the graphic. Any thoughts? Version 2 is nice but not for me. I also don't think the W on top of the M works for me.

Almost to the end:
Offbeat: I like V2 & V3, but haven't found the color combo yet. V5 isn't as strong to me as the other versions.
Pracus: V2 is very interesting but MOST WANTED needs to be more prominent.
Guetizo: I still like V1 & the font works with the graphic, but want to try and not feel so serious. Perhaps more playful w/ the colors...maybe not so earth tone.
jhuggins: Still like V2 &V5. Curious about other colors to go w/ grey. Maybe a bit more motion or slant to font or design.

Pracus: V2 is very interesting but MOST WANTED needs to be more prominent.
Hi Tribledouble! Thank you for the comment but there is also V3 - what do you think about it?
Tripledouble21
11-22-2007, 05:35 AM
Pracus: Whoops! I did see V3. I like it, but Most Wanted gets a bit lost in the color version. I like the artwork of the MW on V2 and V3, but not quite working for me w/ the MOST WANTED. V1 still works very well.

Fabian: Very, very nice look with the Font. I like how streamlined and contemporary the logo looks. The 3 colors for the graphic is also nice but may be not be practical and economical for printing. I like the graphic in color, but not in black and white.
Guetizo: This version is very strong especially for depth and presence. The 4 colors may become expensive to print, but I will look into it.
Dewa Jaya: This is a really nice logo. Very efficient and clean. The style may not be right for my company.
NHR: Creative way to handle the MW.

Thank you for the great feedback.
I've taken your concerns about print costs on board and have coverted the design to a Pantone pallet which is a budjet friendly two colors.
Also the overall design has been simplified to work better in black and white.
Cheers

Fabian: The graphic part of the logo isn't as strong as the 3 color version which merged the 3 colors very well. How about, the graphic part of the logo using the MW theme? Just a thought. The font treatment is still very good.

Thanks,I'll see what I can come up with.If you look closely at version 1 the M and W are there;)
Do you want only two colors used?

Fabian:It took someone pointing it out to me to see the MW in v1, but I really do like that graphic. You can go 3 colors. I think v1 has 4.
