Where or how do I post for a quote on redesigning my salon web site. It is located at Kirkpatrick's Hair Salons, Inc (http://www.carlislebarber.com)
Thank you
Randy Kirkpatrick

This forum would be the correct place. Have you deposited your prize money first? I have a payment that was just made but it is not from a "randy". If you haven't deposited the prize money yet you should review our guidelines on running a contest... Click this link--> http://www.designoutpost.com/guidelines.htm

Just so we're on the same page, what you would deposit money for is a 1 page template of your site, it would be a re-design of the site but you would be responsible for adding the content.
An example would be one I recently did for a computer site. Here is the 1 page template...
http://www.yourwebbuddy.com/templates/tosh...ba/template.htm (http://www.yourwebbuddy.com/templates/toshiba/template.htm)
And here is his web site, he added all the content...

Did that make sense? You might want to check out the other template contests to get an idea of what you would be getting. Here is a guide for people running template contests...

If you want someone to do everything, you would hire a web designer not have a contest. We have several that are on the Design Team. You could post your request on the Help Desk forum and the designers could privately send you their bids for how much they would charge.
Hope this helped clear things up :)

Ok, in the case of a template contest like that one, you would ask for a home page and an interior (or sub-page) template. The designer would provide 2 web pages if chosen as the winner.
You would then either hire someone to add your content or you can add it yourself. It really depends on your ability.
Let me know if you have any more questions,

Can I request that it be done in Frontpage?

Yes, but you will only have 1 entry at best :)
We ran into that recently with another contest and I learned quite a lot on how those were made. I know someone who can convert an html template to a FrontPage template for $200-$300.
For a standard html template from a contest here, you would be able to open the template in FrontPage and edit it but it won't be specifically made for that program. FrontPage has certain features like how you add menu items etc that are specific to that program and most of our designers do not use FrontPage.
Designers please speak up if I'm off base here. I can't speak for everyone.

Or learn how to hand-code like me
Glad we have this all cleared up now. So, is this a go? If so, you can deposit the prize money and start a new thread for your contest and give all the details listed in the guide to running a template contest (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/?showtopic=1299). I'm going to move this thread to the Help Desk forum for other potential contest holders to refer to.
Thanks Randy :)

Nope. He's going to start a new topic in the template forum when he deposits the prize money. This one is just left here for educational purposes :D
