We are looking for a new logo and packaging ideas for an ecommerce site that will launch at the beginning of the year. The site is called www.veloclothes.com and will sell cycling apparel and accessories.

The logo and packaging ideas need the following:
- iconic and easily recognized

- invokes a spirit of competition, winning, (think Tour De France)

- conveys cycling (primarily road biking, but if mountain biking could be indicated as well, that would be a plus)

- is recognizable embroidered in shirts, etc, as well as silk-screened on cloth

- looks good on packaging and collateral material - packaging will probably take the form of mailer envelopes and small boxes

- looks good in black and white as well as color for invoices, etc.

There is some time pressure for this, but I do not want that to get in the way of good design - we have one shot for branding the company and we want to do it right.

Downstream we will be looking for input on the looks and feel of the ecommerce site, so if you have any experience in that, so much the better.

Thanks for participating.

Hi,

Here is my logo entry in different colors. Please advice more color options according to your site design and personel choices. It is a kind of logo that will also work fine in b/w.

And here is how it will look on a hat;

This is looking great. What are your thoughts on how the items outside of the black background will look when embroidered or printed on colored material? I am thinking that I will have to be selective in what colors I put it on.

Is there a way to make it such that it is bulletproof regardless of background color?

Thanks,
DJ

Hi:
I like the concept, and the fact that you took advantage of the O's in the name. I think that a bolder set of colors (primary?) maybe, and a different font would be more in line with what I was thinking. The current combination is just a bit "soft" for me.
Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
DJ

Hi:
I especially like this for a women's line (which we might specialize in. Not too sure about the color selection (though it may work for women mountain bikers). I am still interested though.

Thanks,
DJ

Hi:
I liked the font, but it was not tied to cycling as much as I needed.
