Dear Designers,
Our first request is a great logo.
Once we have selected a logo, we will hire that designer to also create a web page header, an e-book cover, a DVD case cover, CD disc art, and an insert for the DVD case. Eventually, we will have more.
The following are the answers to the logo survey. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.
Thank you.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Business is Booming! Is Yours?
‘Business is Booming!’ is a statement (and the name of the company).
‘Is Yours?’ is a question / challenge to the recipient.
Our current logo (cobbled together on Publisher) has ‘Is Yours?’ in a different font and at an angle above ‘Business is Booming!’ (I’m sure you will create something much more exciting.)
We would like a logo that eventually can stand on its own without any words. For now, we want the words to be included.
What type of product or service do you offer?
Business training lessons delivered on the internet that will help small business owners get control of their business and achieve their goals.
Please visit our web site at www.businessbooming.com/profit_power_action_pack
How long have you been in business?
30 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Launch our internet presence.
What are your long term goals?
Generate the majority of our income from our internet sales rather than personal consulting.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Is December 17th
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
A few small business owners who have stumbled across Sue Canyon’s blog or read her articles.
The target audience is small business owners, most of whom have almost no time, are desperate for answers to their business dilemmas, are savvy but very wary of snake oil salesmen, need answers now, and probably are not very skilled on the internet.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
All small to medium sized business owners.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Straight forward, identifiable, business-like, intriguing; not mechanical or stiff but definitely not soft and fluffy
Standard not flash
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
You choose.
Professional but welcoming; minor hint of feminine; avoid cold or industrial colors
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
No.
Maybe something that implies profits increasing or business improving. One idea is an arrow pointing up that changes from red to green.
I'm sure you can come up with something much more effective, unique, and creative.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Trustworthy, comforting, welcoming, believable, and professional
What is your tagline or slogan?
‘When Sue speaks your business works.’
Please do not include this with the logo.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
The business professionals at Business is Booming! have all the answers the small business owner has been desperately seeking and is happy to share them.
Where will your new logo be used?
Internet and print.
On internet pages, DVD covers and disks, e-book covers, business cards, letterhead, documents, etc.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Main competitors are probably consulting firms or individual business consultants but we have been unable to find anyone who provides the type of product we do.
List competitive URLs if possible
None
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Almost all business consultants address the symptoms and not the root causes. They focus on either increasing sales or the soft stuff like employee development. We address the heart of business which is operations and business measurement.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
We will make your business work for you rather than you working for it.
Again, please do not use this. We reiterate this statement throughout our web site.
