EDITED 12/11 - ADDED PDF SCANNED DRAWING TO BETTER SHOW NIGHT LIGHT IDEA WE HAD INVISIONED.
Dear Designers,
First I would like to link our website, as this will be the main color scheme of our logo.
www.nitelitepc.com (http://www.nitelitepc.com)
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Nite Lite PC
What type of product or service do you offer?
Computer Repair & Services
How long have you been in business?
Startup Company
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
We are looking for a professional looking logo that people will recognize as such.
What are your long term goals?
Expanding in other areas of the state.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
December 17th
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience:
Our main clients would be residential with some small businesses as well.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
N/A
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
We are looking for a nice, professional, creative logo.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
We would like the main color of the logo to be the bright blue color on our website. www.nitelitepc.com (http://www.nitelitepc.com) As long as it matches our current color schemes it should be ok.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
We are not the most creative thinkers :P but our initial idea for a logo was to have the words Nite Lite PC spaced as shown, with a graphic illustration in between the words Nite __ Lite.
http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/5592/v62/image.orientaltrading.com/tvimg/96_1317.jpg
The above link is the graphic design idea we had in mind to go in between the words Nite & Lite. But instead of it being a Light House for the top part of the night light that's pictured above, it would be a LCD monitor sitting right next to the computer tower. The graphic illustration for the computer night light doesn't have to be so intricate, just the basic concept would work.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professional, Reliable, Affordable
What is your tagline or slogan?
Don't have any as of yet.
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Professional, Reliable, Affordable Computer Services
Where will your new logo be used?
On our website, business cards, letterhead/invoices, etc. Possibly even automobile decals in the future.
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
www.geeksquad.com (http://www.geeksquad.com)
www.firedog.com (http://www.firedog.com)
Those would be our 2 main retail competitors. I think their logos are very well done, favoring the FireDog logo more.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
24/7, Fast & Affordable Computer Services
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
N/A
So there it is! Good luck to everyone and I will be on frequently to assist in any way I can. The one idea we had initially is not set in stone, so if you think of something a bit more creative, go ahead and run with it.
Thanks!

I don't know if anyone is working on designs for this or not, but maybe instead of the night light part in between the words Nite & Lite, maybe just put a light bulb glowing blue, like the brightest blue color from our site color scheme. Just try to make it sleek and professional.
And if anyone is working on a design, please post that you are. Thanks!

Thank you for all the submissions already!
giant & Blesseville:
Please don't incorporate any clip art showing a light house at all. The link I posted of the Light House night light, was just to explain the idea better.
Logoholik:
I appreciate you submitting an original idea, but this logo is just to plain of a design.
tini1:
I like how you tried the blue light bulb concept. I prefer your Version 2 out of the bunch, I like how the mouse is attached to the light bulb. But this logo seems to be missing something, not sure what, but it lacks the jump out at you factor.
shnickerdoodle studios
This logo concept is spot on to what we were trying to explain in the initial design post. I really like the Computer Night light that you designed. I would like to see some variations possibly with some different fonts used.
To all designers:
tini1 and shnickerdoodle designs are more of the paths we would like to take. The first 3 designs posted were really not what we were looking for as far as the design concept goes.
I have attached a scanned PDF drawing as well to help show the night light idea, but it looks almost identical to shnickerdoodles design but I will post it anyway.
Thank You All,

Deanna,
We really like your Version 4a-b design that you posted. Could you make the PC part in Black, and show us some more Font variations please.
Also, please see if you can make a glowing effect around the night light in the middle, to show that it's turned on, bright effect. If this can be done without overpowering the logo then that would be great. Everything else is pretty much spot on for what we were looking for.

Thank you for the feedback. I need to stress here that I have never ever included any clip-art in any of my designs since my first day in design team, and I believe so has giant.
Using clip art in DO is a major violation of rules.

I just used the wrong tech term for it and didn't re-read my post, I apologize if you took offense to it in anyway. I should have referred to it as graphic or whatever, but just typed the first thing to come to mind which was clip art.

PM sent to shnickerdoodle.
Just a quick note: you may not be aware of the fact that all communication should be public (posted in the thread) until a designer is selected. If you've decided to work with Deanna, just let me know and I'll move the thread to Revisions; otherwise, I'll leave it in the open forum.

And also a quick note to designers: please note that the drawing the client posted was AFTER Deanna's concept was submitted and, as the client stated, is virtually identical to hers.
You may go by the information outlined in the initial brief (in other words, you may use the elements specified and in the manner specified), but please take care to make the execution/presentation unique.

I apologize for the confusion, but I was unaware of the PM rules. We haven't decided on a designer yet, but as BlueCherry pointed out Deanna's concept was posted right before I drew up the posted PDF. So we are leaning towards shcnickerdoodle studios right now, but have not chosen a designer as of yet.
We will welcome any new designs on the path of Deanna's design and the design I drew up in the posted PDF. Please take care to make the execution/presentation unique like BlueCherry stated above.
Please don't post anymore original designs ideas, as Deanna's is pretty close to what we wanted ideally. We are still unchosen on the final color scheme and font's to be used, and will have those finalized soon. Thanks for bearing with us through this new process, we should have read all the rules better :).
Thanks to all Designers!

Hi Deanna,
We like the graphic between the words Nite & Lite for sure. Your design concept is perfectly fine, but the only thing we aren't settled on is the Font and Colors to be used if we choose your design.
Is this something that could be finalized once it goes to the Revisions forum? Because other than possibly seeing some other Fonts/Colors, your design is fine.
Any other designs can still be submitted, as long as it's on the path of my drawing posted above. Thanks again!

Of course that is something we can work on in the revisions forum.. I did use the agency font. Is there a color scheme you like or pms colors you want used? Or another specific font? Let me know and I will work them up for you. If there is a font style you like and you can post examples or color scheme examples here that would be great!
Thanks,
Deanna

Thanks, Deanna
Deanna,
I think you got confused with the image I posted in the Word document, for the color scheme we are looking to see. I was just showing that image as to how I would like the glow to look.
I have posted another Word document here removing the glow effect image. We would like to see this color scheme, exactly how it is shown in this attached Word doc.
Please keep the Night Light graphic between the words Lite & PC like your last revision still, using the same Agency FB font.
Also please use a BLUE GLOW EFFECT, not yellow. Also we would like to see the Agency FB font in bold as well as normal when you do the revisions.
Thanks!

Deanna,
Here is the same document in PDF form. I don't know the PMS number for the color of font I used, as I am just using MS Word for this. We kind of like the blue tini1 used above in her design, the Pantone Process Cyan. It looks pretty close to what I have in the attached PDF. Please let me know if you have problems viewing the attached PDF.
In case you can't open this PDF file too, here is what we want to try color wise. Message #15 from tini1 is basically the color scheme we would like to see. Maybe a slightly lighter grey for the word Lite than what she used.
Company Name Colors:
Nite = Black
Lite = Grey
PC = Blue
Night Light Graphic colors:
PC Tower = Main color of Grey, outlined in Black borders. Also see if you can make the CD Rom drives, more rectanglular, box shaped like normal CD roms on PC's
LCD Monitor = Main color of Blue, outlined in Black, Grey streak lines for the 2 streaks you have going across the screen
Plug Outlet = Main color of solid black, except white for the plug hole at the bottom, same outlet colors tini1 used in Message #15.
Keep the graphic of the night light in between Lite & PC with the same Agency FB font, shown in regular and bold fonts.
EDIT: Blue glow effect instead of the yellow too :)

Deanna,
We'd like to see the night light graphic back in between the words Nite & Lite. And could we see how the below fonts look in the design.
Arial Rounded MT Bold
Berlin Sans FB Demi
Britannic Bold
Eras Bold ITC
Forte
Impact
Rockwell
Showcard Gothic
Once we finalize a font shortly, we should have the colors finalized as well. Thanks for working with us on this design.

Deanna,
We would like to see the upper left font used, I believe that is the Arial Rounded MT Bold. Could we see that same font used, but make it a bit bigger in size compared to the night light graphic. We think the graphic might be too big compared to the font size. Also we would like to see the font Normal and Bold as well.
One more thing, we'd like the word PC to not be connected to the other 2 words, but still relatively close. Maybe could we see 1 space and 2 spaces variation from how it is spaced now between the words Lite & PC.
Thanks,

Ok, the first one looks perfect for the text, but can you please make the graphic smaller, please give a few versions where the graphic is only a bit larger then the font and possibly centered horizontally (so the outlet hangs down a bit below the text).

Deanna,
We like the 1st one of this last revision set. We'd like the "E" in the word Nite, to not be behind the blue glow. Sort of right on the edge of the blue glow like the "L" is now. Just try to get that E out from behind the blue glow.
Thanks

Deanna,
We like the top glow effect in your Version 11 you just posted. Could we see 2 different variations of that one. One with the "E" and "L" in front of the blue glow effect, overlapping the blue glow so the words would look almost 3D.
2nd variation we'd like to see is the "E" and "L" spaced like 1 more space away from the blue glow. So there would be a thin white space in between the letters and the blue glow of the night light.
We just want to see the 2 different variations to determine if we want the words more spaced out from the night light graphic, or closer and overlapping the blue glow effect. We are almost there to pin down the final design.
Thanks again for bearing with us through this design. We didn't know how hard it would be to make decisions on a company logo. We appreciate your help a lot.

Deanna,
We like the bottom one in your Version 12 design that you posted last. Could we see just one minor variation? We like the bottom one for sure, but could we see the word "PC" spaced from the word "Lite" how it is in the top one in Version 12. Leave everything the same on the bottom one, but put the "PC" closer like the top one is.
If we could see these last 2 variations together to compare them, we should be satisified with one of them. Thanks again for everything!
