Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Ever After Pictures

What type of product or service do you offer?
Wedding Photography and Videography

How long have you been in business?
Business was run by my father for 4 years before I took it over 3 years ago. The name has been Video Design Production but have gone through a name change that will be effective the beginning of the new year....now...Ever After Pictures.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Before we had problems promoting our photography because of our old name. Our company has grown a lot in the past few years and we wanted to continue our growth by coming up with a new image. We are wanting to go for that "happily ever after.."/ princess theme with young bride's in mind.

What are your long term goals?
We want to be able to promote our photography and videography to higher end brides. We are very busy with our lower to mid end brides but we want to take it up a step more. We want to be known by name as a elegant and high end photographer/videography business.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Our deadline is Dec. 14th. That will give us enough time to start the printing and designing of our website. We want to use the new logo for a new website/literature/banner.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Our currently audience consistence of middle income brides who are seeking to hire a photography and videography package. Our company is one of the few in our area that is able to do this. We deal a lot with young females in their twenties and thirties.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
We would like higher middle to upper income brides and continue promoting to those in their twenties & thirties.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:

What type of logo would you like?
We would like something with the "happily ever after" theme. I would like the company name "Ever After Pictures" to be in elegant font like Zapfino. Maybe possibly a shooting star as part of the logo. No wedding rings or tacky clip art.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
The color for the prior company name was emerald green. We are open to any colors but if you can still keep the emerald green that would be great. But we are open-minded on this.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Nothing definite...possibly shooting star?

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professional, Elegant, Young, Fresh

What is your tagline or slogan?
"The still and motion pictures of your happy ending"

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
We are up to date on the current trends and run by young females whom they can relate to.

Where will your new logo be used?
Business card, letterhead, other literature, banner, website

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Our competitors consist for the most part by males. There are either only photographers or videographers. Our company has worked hard and trained to be able to offer both.

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?
We pride ourselves in being young females in their twenties in a majority run male industry. We are able to relate to brides more and able to do and go into places others cannot.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Sophisticated and Young

Ever After Pictures

Hi. I know you said you wanted the company name in a fancy font but it didn't fit well with this graphic so I put the tagline in script. Thanks :)

You made the font work, which is great. You made it look like movie credits and I like it. I'm not so sure about the heart or the use of blue with green.. they almost blend together with me. I like the concept of the line going through the heart though. Good start.

Deanna,
We like the concept. The colors are alright but not great. Could you post some with a variety of color schemes and see what we like. I'll be thinking of colors but could you suggest some. Don't have to necessarily use green...I'm trying to be open minded. I like how the logo came out in black/white.

If we wanted to use the tagline in some literature....how would you recommend it be used with this concept? Or could you change the logo to were a tagline could be used?

Your my favorite so far....

Anyone else have some ideas?

Deanna- We don't like the colors...too much baby bedroom like.
BlueCherry- I don't like the shoe.

I was a little concerned because I haven't really seen anything that has wowed me yet. So I did some research to help you guys out and point you in the direction I want to go. Here are somethings I have thought about and decided.

1. You don't have to stick with the script font unless you see it as appropriate.
2. Lets try these colors: Green with a rich purple or Green with pink sapphire. You can still use black as a background or a dark gray. Once again we are not set on these colors but we want something rich that pops.
3. You can incorporate a flower design or a shooting star.
4. We like the box type logo but not set on it.
5. We like it simple and clean.

I looked back at some archives to give you some examples of concepts we like.

We Like Msg #17 with maybe a flower in the middle.

Msg #82- This is one of yours bluecherry. I like the font and the flower image-like thing beside it.

http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14496&page=6&pp=30&highlight=aga
Msg#178 & 181- I like the fonts on this one and it simplicity.

http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15010
Msg#11, 41 – I like the font and the box looking logo. We would like an image of possibly a flower or you could kept it abstract. With flowers we are looking for something a little more out of the ordinary, such as an orchid, iris, or a tiger lilly.

We like the shape of this iris picture as just an example. We also like the richness of this color too:

I hope this helps you!. Thanks for working with me on this. You rock! :D

Yes! This is the way I want to go with the logo. I like it. I like your design...made a flower/star image...really cool. I like the colors too.

Can you capitalize the E and A and see how it looks? Also, on your version 2, can you add the tagline like you did "PICTURES" in your version 3? I'm not sure how it will look..but want to see some variations. I really like it though.

Deanna, Can you give me a logo base on new data I've given you? You probably haven't had time to read it since I posted it last night.

Thanks.

Flower created from the "E" makes a great watermark

I really like message 18 from offbeat. I like the idea of the flower created from the E that I can use as a watermark. On one of the screens we viewed this page from, the green was a really odd muted color. Could we see it with a richer green (emerald or kelly) to see if this helps. I guess the background color may need to be tweaked to make this work as well since that deep green may be too much with a black background. I also like the way "Ever After" uses the pretty scripted font but "pictures" is contrasted in a cleaner font. How would our tagline look integrated into this logo if we choose to use it that way?

Message 17 - I like the colors, but I think I liked the flow of your design better without the box. I think it gets too busy.

Message 13 - I like the concept and the layout. I'm not crazy about lime green - it always reminds me of a college dorm room! Could you tweak the colors to use a richer green (closer to an emerald or kelly green)? I like the way the flower almost looks like a star, but it is a little to modern/abstract for the look we were going for.

Message 7 - I really like this font and the depth from the shadow. I'm not crazy about the shoe - it might be overkill for the cinderella theme. Maybe a different picture such as a tiger lily or diamond or ....??

I wouldn't change anything about the icon; I think it works well as is.

If it's not the style you want, then I can try another image in place of the star/flower.

I will also look into editing the earlier version w/ the font you like.

Okay - We REALLY like all the ones that were posted since my last post. The colors are what we are looking for. We are going to have some fresh eyes look at them for us and give us feedback.

Blue cherry - if you have any other ideas for the icon, we are open to it!

Thanks!

BlueCherry- I like it much better. Can you change the color from purple to an emerald green. Also, can show me one without the box in color & blk/white.
Giant- I like the concept but don't like the flower. Can you try again...I've seen your other work and like it, so I know you can make one we like :D

Thanks for working so hard everyone. We are really liking what we are seeing. It's making it very hard, which is good!

Offbeat- I like that green much better. I also like the flower with the two colors more. I like you can tell the E overlap. Is there a possibility to make it bigger...It is hard to read the tagline on the bottom?

OffbeatDesign
12-15-2007, 07:43 AM
You can go horizontal which would allow for a larger tagline. Honestly, if you could find a way to shorten the tagline that would probably be good. It's a good tagline, but a bit long right now. The other option would be to separate the logo and tagline on your identity materials. For example, you could have the tagline on the back of the business card which would allow you to make it larger.

You guys are making it real hard. We like too many of them.

BlueCherry- We really like v.11 and liked the purple box version. I didn't like the green box more than the purple one. Thanks for showing us.

Offbeat- We like your last three versions. It is just a matter which one we like the most.

Taldo- We like your concept. I like the arc but don't like the heart. I'm wondering if you can substitute something else instead of the heart but I can't think of anything...can you? Please keep trying, don't give up. We want to see one from you that we really like too.

Snickerdoodles- We are still liking your v.5 and looking at it too.

I was wondering...the files I receive...will one of them still be in layers in case I need to change the colors later?

Right now we are getting others opinions because it is getting difficult. Thanks again!

Yes you will receive a file that has layers in it. That shouldn't be a problem for any of the designers... Thanks

Giant- I like this one much better! Can you change the bottom green to a pink similar to offbeats design's pink? or maybe the top of the flower pink and the bottom green? Can you also add the tag lin....in case we need to use it at one point? Can you also give us some concepts with a black box around it. This concept is really growing on me but I want to see its possibilities. Thanks.

Taldo. I like the image but not so sure about the font used. Could you try a different font and also give us some concepts with the back box. The website that I am working on has a black background and want to see how the logo will look on that.

Giant- I really like the concepts you gave back.

Right now we are trying to decide which ones we like the most from all of the ones submitted. It is very hard! The deadline is tomorrow, so if anyone else has anymore ideas please submit. Thanks for all your work!

Sorry we haven't decided today, but with the holidays it has been really hectic lately.

I want to thank you all for your hard work! My employees and I really enjoyed being part of the designoutpost experience. We are very impressed and will recommend them to everyone that wants a logo.

We have decided to go with Giant's version 2.1 and 2.2. We like the a. and c. from version 2.1 with and without the black box. We like the lighter green and pink.

I just have a few questions.
1. Can I get a. and c. from version 2.1 with and without the black box or do I have to decide which one specifically?

2. Will I get it in layers for illustrator or photoshop?...just in case we need to change the colors for some reason. One of the reasons we liked it.....we believe it is one we can change colors for during special occasions and will work really well.

3. Can we get one high resolution in case we want to blow it up for banner, etc?

4. I case we need the font used on the logo...where can I get it? or I might already have it...what is it?

5. How will I receive the files? email? download?

Thanks all of you again for your hard work! & a special thank you to Giant for designing our logo for us!
