Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Ever After Visuals
What type of product or service do you offer?
photojournalistic/candid wedding photography --
We are also starting a portrait side to our business
How long have you been in business?
Mother/daughter team have been in business 3 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
To increase client base through brand recognition and
attract upper end clients that appreciate the art of photography.
Want a more professional look that stands out and gets attention
Changing our name from Ever After Images (because we can’t get the .com and clients are starting to have problems finding us) but we did get the .com for Ever After Visuals. Also, we do a lot of slideshows to show our work so we think this name will fit better.
What are your long term goals?
Have a recognizable brand and image that we can continue to use that is totally different than most logos.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
December 19th.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Primarily brides in the 25-40 range attracted to the emotion of the moment captured in our images.
Educated, professional brides and grooms that value artistic, timeless, elegant imagery, personalized customer service, beautiful products,
Typically they are easygoing, multicultural, middle to upper-middle class.
Usually paying for my services on their own, sometimes with parental help
Portrait clients will be in the same age and financial bracket.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
More of the above.
Wealthy clients, higher end brides
Target market is highly affluent and more concerned with quality than price.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Romantic, elegant, feminine, creative, sophisticated, timeless, stylish, unique, eyecatching -- elegant but still young
For the logo: We want our full name, damask element or elements and maybe additional scrolly things – would like to see logos with and without scrolly elements.
We want our full name to be in our logo, Ever After Visuals. Please, no initials.
We want the Ever After to be in exactly the same font as we have it now and with just the E and the A capped.
We want to keep the font for the words Ever After that we currently have. We will supply the font. See www.EverAfterImages.BIZ
The word Visuals can be in a different font.
Although we love the scrolly logo that we have now, people think it is a C.
Instead of the scroll that we currently have that looks like a C, we want our logo to have a damask element or elements.
Would not mind scrolls added as element as we like scrolly things, too
Since we will be using this as a watermark on our images, etc. we are concerned that it not be difficult to print, so don’t want any lines to be overly thin.
We like round things
We like round things contrasted with square things, too --
What we don’t want:
Anything that is remotely cheesy, camera related or has a photographer looking through a view camera. please no kissing hearts, rings, film strips, cameras, silhouettes of people, tacky clip art
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
The same crimson and black that we are using now, but would like to add chocolate brown.
Because we feel these colors are feminine, rich and warm. Colors are set, please do not use other colors. Must stand out against both white and black backgrounds.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Yes!
Damask background is attached –
Other things attached are just to show you elements that we like -- (to give you an idea of what we mean by scolly things...;>}
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Established, confident, artistic, feminine, professional, timeless, sophisticated, elegant, cosmopolitan -- want to appeal to the romantic feelings they are having right now.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Capturing Your Once Upon A Time
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
We tell the story of the day by capturing moments and relationships and provide images and slideshows that are artistic and feminine. In addition, we provide a high end experience.
Where will your new logo be used?
Website, businesscard (new design needed), brochure, other promo materials.
Photos, letterhead, other literature
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
I am in a market that is pretty saturated with photographers. Most logos don't stand out, are on the contemporary/modern end --
I need to make sure my clients know I am solid and established. Note: I want to set myself apart.
List competitive URLs if possible
http://www.photosunscripted.com/ She introduced a damask element recently on her website – I want to make sure that mine is not similar.

Some logos we like –
http://www.jeshderox.com/
http://www.designaglow.com/fanclub/index.php like this logo, but the lines are too thin
We like this logo, too – not sure why they have two. http://www.designaglow.com/
http://www.mclellanstudio.com/
http://www.justineungaro.com/ I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Justine's site...like the scrollys (not the flowers though) but really hate her logo -- too contemporary for us.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We are a mother and daughter team, unique perspective of older and younger, tuned in to capturing the emotion of the moment and then telling the story of the event. Are also in the process of starting a portrait side to our business.
Targeted Message:
Photojournalistic wedding and portrait photography. In all of our marketing material, I want them to immediately feel that our business is high quality, established, artistic, confident, elegant and feminine
