Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Kim Flores Photography
What type of product or service do you offer?
contemporary on-location photography for maternity, babies, children, teens and families
How long have you been in business?
18 months
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
I have always had very feminine, child like logos, with specific colors. As much as love color, I have found that I bore easily of a set color scheme. So, I think it may be in my best interest to go with something more classy, not color schemed, and neutral. I would also like to jump into 2008 with a more classy, upscale look, as opposed to "flowery and fun" like I have now.
What are your long term goals?
I am currently on-location only, but I would like to have a natural light studio in a couple years from now. There are many high end photographers in my area, and I want to be known as one of the top here. I am working my way up, and have made a name for myself, but I want to project a classy image, not fun and affordable. I am also trying to break into the commercial industry, so feel that it is in my best interest to display a professional appearance.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
December 20th, but that can be flexible if I have to. I am working on a new website now, and want to launch it the first week in 2008, with a new look.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Such a broad range. Families and new parents. The class range is wide, from middle class to upper. Expectant mothers, to teens. I guess I would say the majority of my clients are young, mid 20's to early 30's.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
Higher middle to upper income families above the age of 30.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
I would like something without a set color scheme. My new site is going to be white or light grey. I would like something in which the font will look good in black or white, but not mixed. I gravitate towards logos that have abstract initials, and then plain text to follow. I have a very hard time finding font that looks good with my initials. I love lower case lettering for the initials. I also like something to look a little femimine and classy, yet not too frilly.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I wouldn't mind seeing color, but at the moment, I am really wanting something without color. Black and or white. My site will be white for the moment, so maybe black or light/dark grey. Something I won't tire of. I get bored with color.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Nothing definite...but my last name means flowers. My current logo has a flower in it, so if you can incorporate a flower of some sort, but that is still questionable.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?Contemporary, fresh, art, modern, yet fun.
What is your tagline or slogan?
none
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Custom portraiture is a luxury. Children's portraits are not meant to capture what you look like, they are meant to capture the essence of the child. Capture today, this modern era.
Where will your new logo be used?
website, business card, magazine ad, banner
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
My competitors are all female. Most have classy logos, and one has a child like logo. I actually like their logos alot, so try to get the images out of my head when finding mine. I like to have a unique style, and don't want to look like theirs.
LOGOS I LOVE: www.bwphotos.net Love the abstract lettering here.
www.alwphotography Once again, like the simple format and lack of color.
What sets you apart from your competitors?
My style is more commercial. I love color pop, and all natural light.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
gap kids.
