Two dentist practice looking to reinvent office. 10,000 square foot new office under construction, will be moving in April 08. Existing building is old / out dated / downright ugly. New building is state-of-the-art / technologically advanced / very classy looking. I want new logo to appear on roadside sign, letterhead, and in the new office behind the front desk there is a large stone wall that will be the perfect place for large scale logo (wall is 8'high x 10'wide). The name of our business is Knowlton & McFall Dentistry PLLC (I'm Dr. Knowlton). My business partner and I were thinking a logo that incorporated our names "KMD", but we're not married to this idea. (Our logo now is just a canned logo that the city / chamber of commerce uses in all of their promotional work...we want to separate ourselves from that.)
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Maybe just initials / probably no text
What type of product or service do you offer?
comprehensive / complete / thorough / caring dentistry
How long have you been in business?
8 years for me / 30 years for Dr. M
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
fresh start with new office / give us a classier look
What are your long term goals?
continue to expand / hire another dentist / be most thorough dentists around
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
1/3/08
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
suburbanites / mostly treating the entire family
Who would you like to add to your audience?
more high brow (pt's that can afford the treatment we desire to give)
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
simple and classic looking not too intricate
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
probably black (why? decor in the new office is deep/rich dental chairs will be black / staff scrubs are khaki and black / black will stand out against the tan stonework of the wall and signage)
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
no teeth :)
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
classy / thorough
What is your tagline or slogan?
right now it's "caring dentistry for adults and children" this may change too (tips to those who come up with new slogan too :)
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
we're thorough and knowledgable, and we care
Where will your new logo be used?
letterhead / sign / behind receptionist desk on stone wall
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
small town / 4 other dentists in town, but they are all old school / I dont consider them competition especially with our new facility on the way
List competitive URLs if possible
What sets you apart from your competitors?
Im the youngest DDS in town (34)my partner is the next youngest, and he's (55) the other 4 are in their 60's and probably wont be working for to much longer
