The #1 concern of business is having no money...
So I want to iconify that fear by creating the "No Money Monster"
The no-money monster should be:
* Cartoonish
* Simple lines -- but not abstract. This is not a true 'logo' -- but more of a 'mascot'
* Scary in a funny way -- meaning not scary at all, but clearly he's trying to be scary.
* I'd like to avoid the use of red so it will not compete with other red elements we intend to use...
* (and the hard part) I'd like the monster to be one that a large fortune-500 company would be ok using -- not that they will be using it, but for example, if the Sprint Cell Phone company came out with the "Dropped Call Monster" -- it would be cute and scary and funny and simple... make sense?

(note: My previous post didn't seem to work, so I'll do this again... if they both end up working, please forgive the double posting!)
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
** No text -- just looking for a monster drawing to be our new mascot
What type of product or service do you offer?
** We interview business experts and summarize the interviews. So our clients are business owners, and we help them grow their business.
How long have you been in business?
** Just launching this business -- no history yet
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
** To show that we're fun (yet professional) and to focus business owners on their PAIN -- the pain of not having enough money. The monster will be called the "Nomoney Monster" or something like that. You fight the Nomoney Monster by educating yourself.
What are your long term goals?
** Grow into a huge business
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
** ASAP
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
** Small business owners of all kinds -- especially between age 30 and 50 -- half male, half female
Who would you like to add to your audience?
** Nobody -- we focus on small business owners between 30 and 50
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
** Fun / Cartoony -- but simple. Not really scary, but clearly it should look like the monster is trying to be scary. The Tazmanian Devil from the bugs bunny cartoons would be **PERFECT**
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
** Anything but Red... we have a lot of red on our site, so red would blend in.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
** Something like the Tazmanian Devil
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
** Fun yet Professional
What is your tagline or slogan?
** "Is The Nomoney Monster Threatening Your Business?"
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
** That you need to fight the Nomoney Monster by educating yourself on best practices in all areas of business.
Where will your new logo be used?
** On the Web primarily
Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
** Every small business guru you can think of -- big and small
List competitive URLs if possible
** LearningAnnex.com TrumpUniversity.com Nightengale.com
What sets you apart from your competitors?
** We know that business owners buy educational products to avoid pain... the monster is supposed to give that pain a NAME -- the Nomoney Monster.
Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
** Kill The Nomoney Monster!
Hello :)
Happy New Year!

So far I like NHR's design because it looks like the monster's expression is saying "hahaha -- you have no money"
I do like the artwork on Belladonna's entry... but the $? doesn't say the right thing, and the 4 arms makes the monster less threatening I think -- cause it's more fantasy.
Can't wait to see more entries!

Here's from me... :)
Thank You.
Do you want the monster to appear with slight likeness to humans in terms of having two limbs, legs etc...?
Thank you.

I love the variety!
Here's the specific feedback:
1) My favorite so far is the image in message #5 because his expression is like "haha you have no money" And I like the green $.
2) The green monster in Message 9 has no impact - he's looking away (not at me) and his posture is one of no motion or energy. He's holding the sign like he's picketing instead of confronting.
3) The red monster in post 11 is a cute little monster I would like to hug... so it can't be the "icon symbol of the enemy of small business" -- which is what I'm looking for here.
4) #12 doesn't make the grade I'm afraid -- looking for something with enough design put into it that a major corporation might adopt it.
5) For post 13 -- I like him a lot better with only two arms. Let's kill the 3rd eye and make him hold a sign instead of having a word-balloon.

Belladonna -- Let's try your monster in the same grey as #5 -- or maybe a few variations. I think the blue might be hurting his impact a little. To clarify my desire -- this monster is the *enemy* of small business owners -- he wants them to be cash-poor and make bad decisions.

Hi, thanks for the feedback :), what about this?, its a more "dirty water" color :P , I think you are right, it makes him look less cute:
