Just thought I'd pop back into this thread to see if there is any other information the designers need to help get started. I'm really looking forward to seeing the designs!

Thanks everyone for your submissions. More are always welcome! :)

skyvee: Nice job on the grahic, but I don't think it's too relevant to the purpose of the organization. I think I'm looking for something a little more modern regarding the font and the text is too small to read. I know it's a long phrase so that can be a challenge.

Blesseville: I like how you fit the text in. The font is a little too plain for me, but it's going in the right direction. I see where you're going with the graphic (shiny ring) but I think it looks too much like the letter "O" so it's a bit confusing.

Logoholik: Nice clean modern font, and I like the colors but the design is a bit too dominant and reminds me more of a rising sun than anything wedding related. Nice clean "look" but I think I want to put more emphasis on the letters, plus the long text needs to be integrated somehow.

xpressions: I like the graphic treatment of the "S" but not crazy about the "W" it looks more like stacked "V's." I like how you integrated the text also. Not sure about the double rings over the "I" but I like the fact that the graphic treatment is more subtle than some of the other designs.

I appreciate all the submissions! Based on my impressions I think I'd like to see more along the lines of xpressions idea: Emphasis on the initials, integration of the text, subtle graphic (or none at all), and I'd like to see other font ideas, especially with subtle/modern/unique treatments of the initials. Plus I'd like to see versions with the text both below AND to the right of the initials. This will be the logo at the top of a webpage so it may end up being more horizontal than vertical.

Thanks xpressions. I like 8 and 10.

Would love to see some other designer's take on the basic idea with other font designs and tweaks. Would also like to see black/color on a white background option. Appreciate all the work so far!

Thanks for the additional entries everyone!

Kekpania: I like that you went for a different look, but I'm not a big fan of the swirly flourishes. Definitely looking for something more modern and clean looking.

Logoholik: Thanks for the multiple submissions, I like a lot of your work I've seen on this site. Of the three you submitted I like the last one the most, although I'm not sure about the oval shape. The gradients around the shape are nice, but for some reason it just doesn't jump out at me, but I'd love to see more ideas from you. I think I prefer designs where the lettering itself is in black/grey/color instead of white letters inside another shape or color.

Guetizo: Thanks for your submission. I can see where you're going with the I and the P but overall there's not enough impact for me. Would love to see other ideas from you!

Thanks again everyone. There are some good ideas here I'd love to have people build upon. Any other takers?

Think "strong distinctive treatment" of the initials, while conveying a modern, clean, creative feel to it.

Logoholic, I'm liking #21. I like how it looks clean and modern, with subtle 2 tones and a distinctive graphic element. Nice.

Can we tweak it a bit? Ideally I'd like the logo to work nicely on a website so it has to fit in a rectangle at about 40-45 pixels high (width doesn't matter so much). If we squeeze down this logo to that size then you can't read the text, largely because the circle graphic takes up a lot of vertical space.

Here's what I'm thinking:
1. Maybe change the text font to be larger and spread over two lines instead of three.
2. Tweak the graphic treatment of the ISPWP initials so that it is more "horizontal" friendly somehow. You don't have to stay with the circle theme, but you're definitely on the right track. I just want something to give the initials some kind of impact or distinctive treatment instead of plain letters. I like the way you're thinking.
3. Maybe also move the lettering to be under the initials on a single line. Any possibilities there?

Coming down to the wire on the 19th. Thanks for your submissions and other ideas are of course always welcome. I definitely want to make a decision on the 19th. Thanks all!

Alright. Here are my thoughts. Two variations of logo top one for print and applications larger than 45px :) and second one for web site header.

Thanks Logoholik. The smaller middle one will definitely fit and scale to the right size, and it's nice to have the larger options for other promotional uses.

In my last post I suggested: "I just want something to give the initials some kind of impact or distinctive treatment instead of plain letters. I like the way you're thinking."

I went and looked at your website and you have some great stuff there. What jumped out at me was your creative text treatments to logos such as Memoori, National Coverage Network, i85 Media, Archisesto, where you go beyond simple text with a graphic and give the lettering your own unique spin. That's what I mean about impact and distinctive treatment that you're so good at. I'd love to see if you can do anything like that with my ISPWP initials, and maybe get some other theme ideas besides the circle.

And is there anyone else out there with ideas? Not sure why I'm not getting as many designers involved. Thanks!

Xpressions: thanks for the additional proposals. I love the fact that you are thinking of distinctive treaments of the letters, but but the overlapping letters bothers me a bit, maybe because of the resulting two tones looks messy (hmm... not the right word, maybe "busy?") instead of clean. Also as mentioned previously it would have to be more of a horizontal design.

In the next example I like the horizontal orientation and that you are thinking of a distinctive graphic treatment of the letters, but I'm not fond of the backwards "P" or the negative rendering of the letters (with the dark areas filling in the negative spaces between the letters, if that makes sense).

I really appreciate everyone's efforts and sorry that I seem to be so picky! I know that sooner or later something is going to jump out at me. I'm going to work with the site support to extend the deadline to Jan 31 and increase the proposal fee to $200 with the hope to get more designs/designers involved.

I'm interested in more ideas from everyone!

Freetime, I like #36. Could I see it with the text to the right of the initials so it's a more horizontal design, perhaps in a larger font? I'd like to see a 2 line and a 3 line options.

Freetime, thanks for the different versions. Nice to see how it'll work with a horizontal design.

Logoholic, thanks for the variations on a theme. Sometimes simpler is better and these are definitely understated, I'll have to think about whether they are a little too understated.

xpressions: Nice different approach. I like the unique treatment of the initials. This may be a challenge, but is there any way you can do something along this style but make it clearer that it's not ISPPW?

I'd like to thank everyone for all of their ideas and creativity.

After much thinking and deliberation I think I'm going back to post #10 by xpressions. I'd like to move this to the revisions forum and work on some minor changes to that logo, mostly changing it so that it has grey/black/colored lettering on a white background.

Thanks all, especially Logoholik who had a lot of ideas.

Thank you for selecting my design. Other than the color, do you require any further revisions? Regards,

josmi
01-30-2008, 10:26 AM
The only other options I'd like to see besides color would be slightly smaller initials, with a 2 line text (instead of 3), and also a version without the "brackets."

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is size really a factor? Do the files I receive size up and down cleanly (for example if I want them large for a t-shirt or signage)?

xpressions

I will work on your requests and post as soon as possible. There are no dumb questions...you will receive vector files of your logo which resize up and/or down without loss of quality/resolution.
