Vind Gevinster

1b)Company Tag Line or slogan:
- Konkurrencer og gevinster i lange baner

1c) Do you have a company logo?
No

1d) Do you have a corporate visual identity (a customized (non stock) logo and color scheme carried out throughout your office, stationery, business cards, etc.)?
No

1e) What is the nature of your business?: Briefly describe your products or services:
The website will link to danish contests / sweepstakes where the users can win prizes.

1f) Who is your target market? Who are you hoping to reach with your site?
Everyone who likes participating in contests / sweepstakes on the internet. The ages are roughly:
less than 18 years old: 20%
between 18-30: 35%
30-60: 40%
more than 60 years old: 5%

Website Details

1b) Do you have an existing website? If so, what is the URL?
No

2b) IMPORTANT: Please list at least 3 URLs (web addresses) of high quality sites that you like the look of (these do not have to be sites who’s business is similar to yours. It aids us in determining what your design style is.) Please consider layout, colors, navigation, graphics, and typography.

The description below is of elements I like and thus not the complete sites:
http://www.kretivia.com/
I like the grey background with the stylistic circles, and I like the green content background at “work” with the white lines and the darker green area for the headline.

http://obuweb.com/
I like the navigational menu at left. It is classy and it is possible to create items programmatically since it does not use images and it is vertical (not horizontal) so it has almost “infinite” space.

http://www.haveamint.com/
I like the seach box and the green line encircling it.

http://www.komogvind.dk/
I like the background at the headlines. Fx. “Jackpots” and “Seneste vindere”.

http://www.onwired.com/
I like the header. It looks classy with the fading.

3b) What colors or color schemes would you like?
Green as main color

4b) List the Navigation links for your Site:

In the overall design (the stuff that is shown on every page) there should be a search box (“Søg” in Danish) and a navigation menu with aprox. 10 categories. These categories are generated programmatically and the amount of categories can vary over time, so do not limit the design to 10 categories.
Furthermore there should be a link to FAQ and a link to Contact (“Kontakt” in Danish). These 2 links should not be to big but still intuitive/easy to find.

On the front page the following items must be present:
- a box for quickly subscribing and un-subscribing to the site's newsletter. (plus a link to a signup page)
- links to contests held by vindgevinster.dk
- links to toplists like top20 newest contests and top20 most visited contests

On the interior page there should be a headline describing either the search string or the category chosen. Besides the headline there will be a list of results showing the contests fitting into the category.
For each contest there must be:
- a headline
- a text describing the contest
- a banner (mostly 468x60 banners)
So some graphic encircling each contest could be great

5b) What type of look are you trying to achieve? (e.g. clean, high-tech, conservative, warm, flashy, etc.)
I would like the design to be simple and classy and perhaps a little shining (stars and glow)

6b) Please provide the addresses of competitors' sites, if possible:
http://www.konkurrencesiden.dk/
http://www.vind.dk/
http://www.vindenhund.dk/

7b) Do you have any images for use in the design of your site? If not, do you have images, can you offer suggestions of what you type of imagery you feel would be most suitable for your website:
Happy people winning, or images of prizes (holiday trips, cash etc.)

Deadlines and Deliverables

1c) What is the deadline for your template design?
January 24 – 2008 (can be extended if needed)

2c) Will you require HTML coding? (Yes/No)
Yes

3c) If so, will you require it to be ONLY CSS layout? (Yes/No --- {fees})
No

4c) How many pages coded will you require delivered? ({fees})
2 pages – one front and one interior

Are anyone gonna submit a design?

Or could somebody give some comments about why this job is not interesting?
- Are the description unclear?
- Do I miss some information?
- Are there too much information?

Here is an idea from me. I hope is it what you are looking for...

I like the design as a draft. The overall design is good but it is a bit too rough, ie. the colors could possible get some fading or some other effect to make it more smooth.

The design looks a bit old I think. (when internet connections was slow and graphics was kept on a minimum) I am not sure what to do about the design, but possible some more coloring effects like the ones on the referenced sites (onwired.com / obuweb.com / kretivia.com)

I am working on a concept for you and will try to have it posted sometime tomorrow.

I will make revisions and post them here :) Overall is the layout okay? What about the colour scheme? (apart from the use of gradients and more graphical elements)

/Erika\ I look forward to see your design.

/KellyB\ I like both design and colours, it just needs to be shined up as described earlier.

I really like your design Erika, it looks great :)

However I do not like "Vind" in "Vind gevinster" at the headline. I am not sure what to do, it just looks bad. Probably another font and another color will do the trick.

I do not like the small image after the "newsletter" text on the right, you can just remove that image.

Then I am worried about the navigation on the left. It looks really great but is it possible to add more items? There are currently 11 items in your design and there are probably room for about 12 items, but what happens if I add 13 or 14 items, will that ruin the design, or can the navigation dynamically be made longer/shorter?

Finally I am not sure about the "holiday/travel" image. I know this was one of my own suggestions and you have both used this kind of picture but the site is not a travel site so I think it would be better with some kind of general winning/lucky/happy image. Perhaps something similar to the girls at the navigation or perhaps a treasure (for example http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/object/4939507_the_end_of_rainbow.php?id=4939507) or perhaps something like (http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/object/4365556_grunge_crowd.php?id=4365556) .

That looks great. Erika I will choose you for the design and I like the second image (Message #13).

As described in the task I would like an interior page too. This page should in many ways look like the front page.
- The green header area should be made smaller since the interior will be a template for all other pages. Perhaps the image and the girls must be removed. I am not sure whether they fit in when shrunken.
- The newsletter and current contests must be removed and the main area expanded.
- In the main area I want some graphic or some nice way to show each contest. For each contest there must be:
\-- a headline
\-- a text describing the contest
\-- a banner (mostly 468x60 banners, but some times other formats)
To give an example see (http://www.tilbudsservice.dk/kategori.asp?kategori=Vind%20i%20unders.)
It should not look like the link but the link is an example of the format with a headline, a text, and a banner.

Just as I want it.

If you make the HTML coding and send it all in a personal message that would be great ;-)

This project is not yet finished. I have received images and html, but the html had problems (it did not look correct in any browser). I have not yet received any .psd files.

I am currently awaiting corrections and .psd.

OK. I have moved it back to the Revisions forum and notified the designer that you are still awaiting those files.

Please post a note here once you receive them.

Thanks!:)
