(Admin code added by Palmer - 9367214)

Logo required for new website that promotes a range of furniture for conservatories / sunrooms

the website will be at www.conservatory-furniture.info (not yet live)

The website itself will be relatively simple - with around 6 to a max of 10 pages.

The website is a "shop window" for a range of products that are actually sold mail order (ie no online ordering) The object of the website is to get requests for brochures / further information.

We have another active website which does something simlar (but for a different range of products) See it at http://www.conservatory-cane-furniture.co.uk

see example products at
http://www.conservatory-cane-furniture.co.....uk/gallery.htm (http://www.conservatory-cane-furniture.co.uk/gallery.htm)

By the way - we are not particularly keen on the logo on that website - maybe one day we will get round to changing that to.

As a generalistion - we like un-cluttered / classical designs / logos that are not too fusy. Other sites in our portfolio include:
http://www.conservatoriesonline.com
http://www.conservatories.org
http://www.sun-blinds.com

In addition to the logo can we request one "small" variation of it. We would like that we could also have a "Special Offers" version of the logo - to go on the special offers page. To get a feel for a typical special offer look at
http://www.justcane.co.uk/autumn.htm

Gif / jpeg and .tiff versions required. Logo size will be around 350 x 90 pixels - (we prefer a landscape view) Note size is just a guide line - a bit bigger or smaller is OK. Also in any case we would require larger variations should we ever use it in print.

I was very impressed last time I used this service. I am hoping it will be the same this time.

best wishes

Just to add - we are looking to ideally end this contest by 15th October latest, perhaps earlier if we get a good number of suitable entries.

Thank you disturbReality and Eagle for making a start, thats appreciated.

I can see where you are both coming from but we really don't like the "darker" shades, certainly not BLACK

I know that with cane we "think" brown or dark shades and while we would not rule brown out in the logo - we would prefer to see lighter shades of brown, yellow? with greens or orange perhaps - certainly thats what we would need if we go with a white background.

This website is in "partnership" with the Just Cane website - the Just Cane logo is found at http://www.justcane.co.uk/img/logo.gif Even thats got a bit too much BROWN for us. ;-)

What may help the situation is if we had a transparent .gif on say a "creamy / yellow" background? - Like http://www.justcane.co.uk

Then perhaps we would not be so put of by the darker shades.

I hope that helps

Yes, a little 'lighter' on the eye...I can see where you're coming from. :)

all of these logos are definately improvements on the first examples. However I have to say, none of them have "grabbed" our attention at all. They are "OK" - but not quite what we are looking for.

I had hoped to end this competition on the 15th. Is this all the entries? I was rather hoping to have more to chose from.

Can you give any more direction so the deisgners can narrow in on what your are looking for? Do you have any ideas of images you'd like to see?
Thanks!
Anything more could help.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry, I have been "out of town" a few days.

I appreciate your comments and understand you need more feedback.

here goes:

We feel that the three latest submissions - are all very good, much closer to what we are looking for

Thats disturbReality, dynagirl and Taldo. All three of you have got the colour and feel right.

At the moment we probably like disturbReality version best, the only challenge we have with it is the "perspective" We are looking more for a landscape view - ideally the logo on website will be around 350 x 90 pixels (approx)

thank you both coredesign and disturbReality - I feel both of you are getting close to what we are looking for.

disturbReality - with your design we is it possible to make the text part of the logo just that little bit bigger / clearer while retaining the proportions? Ideally we dont want the height of the logo greater than 90 pixels, but we can work with 100 pixels. At present your logo appears to be around 100 pixels in height? (I know you marked of at 90 pixels)

I am going to let this competition run for the rest of the weekend and we will make a decision on Monday. Last minute entries / revisions are welcome.

and the winner is disturbReality.

Hi DisturbReality

We have opted for your "re-design" - the top version out of the four options you presented. Gif / jpeg and .tiff versions required.

Have you given any thought to:
In addition to the logo can we request one "small" variation of it. We would like that we could also have a "Special Offers" version of the logo - to go on the special offers page. Ideally we would like a "special offers" variation if that can be accomodated.

we look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you everyone for a great competition

best wishes
