Due March 7
$300

Size: Two 4"x9" rack cards

General
We need two different rack cards designed, one for weddings, one for portraits. We are wedding and portrait photographers in Northern VA, right outside of DC. We need rack cards which are 4x9 (like postcards) to give as marketing info to brides and those interested in portraits. Our name is Ever After Visuals. Our tagline is “Capturing Your Once Upon A Time” and our descriptive words are emotional, romantic, timeless, modern.
We want something that works with our branding. Nothing too traditional looking. When someone takes either one of these rack card home and visits our website and/or blog, the look and feel should fit in with our branding.

Color
We are branding our business so we want these rack cards to fit in with our brand.
We plan to use one splash screen to enter both the wedding and portrait side of our business. However, the wedding side will have a black template on entering. The portrait side will be the same design, only red. They will share one blog.
We plan to use the same business card for both weddings and portraits. The front of the business card will serve as our logo on both sites.
Our brand is pretty well developed on the wedding side, but we are in the process of developing it on the portrait side.
The brochure design will also be used for portraits – only the colors will change to red and white.
For the wedding side, primary colors are black and white, with red as the accent color.
For the portrait side, primary colors will be red and white, with black as the accent color.

For the wedding rack card:
We want a black background and white writing, with red -- if it is used in the design -- as the accent color. Of our catchwords, emotional, romantic, timeless, modern, the wedding card should have the emphasis on romantic.

Images used on this rack card will more than like be in color so the emphasis is on the images.
Full color front and back.
4over.com requirements: Requirements from 4over must be met. Template from 4over, along with our logo, and all branding material we have so far will be downloadable in a .zip file.

On the FRONT:
Really want an eyecatching front on this rack card – something that will make them take this rack card home and call us – but we do want it to have the flavor of our branding, which is primarily square, so all placeholders for images should be square.

On the BACK:
Any verbage from the Philosphy page of our brochure
Any verbage from the wedding testimonials page I've included
On the back I would like our logo, and contact info:
www.EverAfterVisuals.com
Mindy@EverAfterVisuals.com
Call us at 571.434.0009

We can shorten the text on the back if it doesn't all fit. Again, we want people to remember from our rack card that we are a mother-daughter team that specializes in capturing stories of emotion on their wedding day..

For the portrait rack card:
We want a red background and white writing, with black as the accent color. We want our portrait card to have a more modern feel to it, but ask that it keep the flavor of our branding. Of our catchwords, emotional, romantic, timeless modern, the portrait card should have the emphasis on modern. Elements we want to keep are the dotted line that goes around the square part of our logo/business card.

Images used on this rack card will more than like be in black in white, with some in color so the emphasis is on the images.

For our website design, we intend to have the large images that show when you hit our portrait site have one of the slogans below on each page – the slogan would match the image, i.e. the “Keep it Elegant” would show someone dressed up elegantly, etc. Below are the list of phrases we intend to use. If this could somehow be integrated into our rack card design, that would be awesome.

But we want people to be drawn to our images – so we also want the card to be all about images. Not sure how to do this – which is why you are the designer…;>}

Keep it Simple
Keep it Real
Keep it Stylish
Keep it Casual
Keep it Beautiful
Keep it Artistic
Keep it Romantic
Keep it Exciting
Keep it Modern
Keep it Bold
Keep it Timeless

Keep it Fresh
Keep it Relaxed
Keep it Unique
Keep it Passionate

On the BACK:

On the back I would like the blur below
On the back I would like portrait testimonials
On the back I would like our logo, and contact info:

And here is a little blurb about the portrait side:

Our tagline is “Capturing Your Once Upon a Time” because life is like that…the first anniversary, the first baby, the first family portrait, the first steps, the first day of school. Soon it’s time for graduation! All those moments deserve to be remembered -- the majority of those surveyed said that the first thing they would take out of a burning building were images of their family. That’s because when it comes to keeping stories of emotion, portraits are one of the few things in life that become more valuable as time passes. That’s why it’s important to “Capture Your Once Upon A Time” before those moments slip away. Time moves so fast. Photography stops it.

Again, we want people to remember from our rack card that we are a mother-daughter team that specializes in capturing stories of emotion in our portrait work.

Ever After Visuals font is Parisian

Please also give us these designs in layered PSD files.

PLEASE POST A RESPONSE AND LET ME KNOW THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DESIGNING FOR THIS PROJECT AND I WILL PRIVATE MESSAGE YOU THE LINK TO DOWNLOAD WHAT YOU NEED.

Is the layered PSD a requirement? The only problem is that I would most likely be using a program other than Photoshop to do this project. Please let me know, thank you!

Mindy are the rack cards going to be vertical or horizontal? The template from 4over was horizontal, but I believe most rack cards are vertical... I'll have my designs up this weekend.

Thanks

Mindy

Hi Dan --

The rack cards are vertical --

I'm so sorry for any confusion that the template caused!

Looking forward to seeing your designs --

Hi Mindy, here are my designs for the Wedding rack cards... I'm starting on the Portrait ones now.

I wanted to include a lot of photos on the front because I think it holds the audience's interest with a little more to look at and I just couldn't sum up the wide variety of photos you two take, it's much more than just the ceremony, it's the entire day and I tried to use photos that best portrayed that, the logo serves as sort of the center piece, "Life isn't the amount of breaths you take....." quote is in the Parisian typeface, I used the same background pattern design that is on your website and brochure, I tried to keep the brand as close as it already is so far.

FRONT

I included the Philosophy copy & the Wedding Testimonials on the back of the rack card, "Capturing Your Once Upon A Time" slogan is under your logo, and the contact information below that.

BACK

Hope you like it... let me know what you think.

Sarah, Hi --

Thank you for your design --

I like the layout of the back of your card.

but the front of the card, just doesn't seem proportional -- I'm not sure what it is -- size of the logo, typeface and placement of the images seems off -- not sure why.

The logo that should be used in the one in the box -- we'd prefer to see it on the front.

After looking at both of these designs, we feel one image on the front might look more upscale -- could you redo the front and use just the image on the bottom?

Thanks,

Mindy

Dan --

We like lots of things about your design --

We like how the red and the black and the dotted lines are used that keeps the elements of our other marketing material and matched the feel of our website.

We like how you laid out the back, too --

But the front just has too many images. We think in this instance, after seeing both of these designs that less is more --

Please use the logo that is in the box -- we do want to use it on the front --

Also, could you redo the front with just one image?

I will PM you an image that we think might work better since it is a vertical --

Thanks for all of your hard work --

Mindy

I got the image you sent, I'll re-design with your changes and post tonight... did you want "Life isn't about the breaths you take... It's the moments that take your breath away" still included on the front?

Thanks

Hi Mindy,
Thanks so much for the feedback and for sending me that beautiful photo to work with.

Please see attached my revised design. Let me know what you think & if you have any suggestions. The pictures on the back can be easily changed to suit your preferences.

For the "Portraits" rack card, do you want multiple pictures on the front, or just one as well? Do you have any specific pictures you'd like to see in the design? Thanks! :)

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sarah, that looks much better! Really like the image large on the front -- looks classier, I think --

Could you possibly tie it in with the red damask on the site a little more?

Thanks,

Mindy

Centered and I put the dotted line border on the back too... The portrait rack cards will be up soon, did you have a specific photo that you would like on the front of that one?

Hey Mindy, I wanted to get up what I had so far. I kept the same layout as the wedding rack cards... but instead of a black box, I made it 25% transparent to give it a darker red, I think that a larger photo might work better like the wedding rack card if you have one in mind. On the right I enlarged the Keep it Forever... Keep it Ever After so you could see what it looked like better, ("Keep it" is in Parisian and "Forever/Ever After" is in Champignon) let me know if you like how that looks and anything else that you can think of. I'll post the back of the card up as soon as I can.

Two other ideas for the front of the Portrait rack card real quick... again we can always put in a photo of your choice but to give you an idea of what just a large image would look like.

Which photo did you want on the front of the Portrait card? I need you to send me whichever photo you want to use in a larger format or how you did with the wedding photo will work good. (The reason is because I took screen shots of your website so I could show you a proof, but I had to stretch the photos and they won't print at their best quality and I want to make sure they turn out right) I'm available and ready to send the files to you as soon as I get the photos though :D
