The churches in our county are wanting to make a banner to be able to hang up when we gather for our county wide youth ministry meetings. We only hold them a few times a sememster, but a nice banner would be good to give it some "identity", if you know what I mean.

Anyways, I think we're just looking for some nice lettering with minimal graphics (if any). The words "Mo-Co Worship" really prominant front and center. And underneath that, smaller, either "Monroe County Worship" or just "Monroe County". I'd have to see how it looked, but I think the first option will look the best. The bottom text might look better in a "more simple" font too, if that makes any sense.

If you can incorporate a cross to either the left or right, that might be a good addition (or something else that says 'worship') to try. But again, the lettering will be the main focus.

Colors: The banner background will be white. I'd thought of some navy blues, oranges, maybe even some green, but not sure exactly. I'm open for all ideas there.

Size: Not sure exactly yet the size of the banner we're going to go for. But the image can be centered on the banner, so I don't know if it makes a huge difference. But if you think you need specific dimensions, I can get those in the next day or so.

Remember that this is for teenagers. Try and select a font/design that they would identify with. Not childish though. You know what I mean.

Hello stateDOG, I just wanted to add myself to your banner contest.

Julie - I really like your first one. I like the upper font. I think the "Monroe County" would need to be a touch smaller on the bottom maybe. I'm not really a fan of the 2nd one of yours, though.

Penny - Yours is too "squarish" if you know what I mean. Looking for an image that will fit a longer banner.

Nfrack - Both of yours are pretty cool as well. On your first one, can you put a dark drop shadow on MoCo Worship, to make it stand out a little better? I'd like to take a look at how that would do. On your 2nd one, either change the font of the lower text or make it a little smaller maybe. It's secondary text, the emphasis needs to be on the MoCo Worship.

Any other entries?

I figured that was his version of a watermark.

Nathan - Thanks, and they look good.

Taldo - Um, not sure. Yours might look a little too cartoonish.

Ed - Really nice work. Wasn't what I was thinking of, but might work.

Julie - Thanks for the changes.

Thanks to all so far. Still chewing on it. Hope to know something by midweek next week.

And the winner is Julie for her first design (first one submitted, actually)

It was a tough decision and we had a time narrowing it down to one winner. Thanks to all who participated.
