Hi, We are ordering 2 tension fabric displays we are in need of graphics for. The size can be seen at http://www.postergarden.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=289

we will be going with the fountain style. We are a presciption orthotic lab and our business is with foot specialists such as Podiatrists and Chiropodists. We do not deal dirrectly with patients. These conference displays will have 3 shelves on each positioned at 30, 38 & 46" 's. You can visit our web page at www.orthotic.ca (http://www.orthotic.ca). for ideas.

I only have one request. I do want the two logo's, PFOLA and 100% guarantee, on the bottom portion of the panels. One large logo on each. Logo's attached. You will find these on the front page of our website and the accredited facility logo, PFOLA, does link to thier wesite where you will find an original. The 100% logo could be reworked, we have used a couple different ones over time, or this one is fine. They should basically fill the bottom. The area around the shelves should be fairly simple. The top portion is the main design area but connection should be made so the eye moves around completely. I would like to keep the color clean and bright. Our back display is currently dark but will be being replaced next. One display will hold our Functional and Dress orthotics and the other will hold our Accomodative and Kids Orthotics, as seen in our catalogue. I was thinking we may be able to do somehting with words to send a message. Using the ideas from our catalogue ie: Functional SUPPORT, PROFESSIONAL Dress, Accommodative SOLUTIONS, Growing CONTROL. The idea is to use the wording to descibe our products as well as our company, ie: PROFESSIONAL, SOLUTIONS, SUPPORT, in more of a subliminal way. See what you think. We are completely open to your creative abilities and look forward to this.

Thank You in advance.

Hi,

Please post any files here or send to myself or another administrator and we'll post them so all designers have access to them.

Finishing my concept now; will be up in a few mins

BlueCherryGraphics

Here's the first concept. It's all vector.

The circle at the bottom is a placeholder for the 100% guarantee image b/c although it was an EPS that you uploaded, it had raster, not vector data and will have to be redrawn.

Forgot to mention: the black lines represent the approximate position of the shelves; they will not be present in the final image.

Hi, Thanks for posting! What is Vector?? I am hoping we can see a design that includes some lifestyle pics. We prefer one large graphic as apposed to smaller groups. We could use a sport/ business dress for the one and possibly a grandparent/grandkids for the other. In using the wording supplied I was hoping there would be a way to bold the word, professional. So the words functional, dress, accomodative and growing refer to the products (orthotics), which will be displayed on the shelves, and the words professional, support, solutions, and control refer to our company. We could also just see the pfola logo on the bottom of one and the guarantee logo on the bottom of the other instead of duplicating this. We also have a catch line, Making great strides. This could also be added, maybe along the bottom. Our logo color is green scale, the guarantee should be red and the PFOLA logo blue or black. Tahnks soooo much.

Vector means the images are resolution-independent, which basically means the image can be sized to any dimensions without quality loss.

Photos are raster-based, so you would need the photo at finished size at 180 dpi to comply with the sign company's standards.

Normally, we factor in covering the costs of any images used ourselves, but in this case, the images needed would cost almost $45 to purchase the largest size from where most of us purchase our stock images.

I normally work almost exclusively in vector, so I'm not sure this is 100% correct, but I believe, even then, that the largest the images could be and still be 180 dpi is approximately 27.5"x18.5" - again, I'm not sure that the dimensions there are 100% correct.

What I would recommend doing at this point is to look at http://www.istockphoto.com and let us know the numbers to some images there you like, then any interested designers could use comps of those to do their mock-ups and if you select one of the designs, then you could purchase the images and forward to the designer to use in the final product.

I would not actually buy the images until you've settled on a designer, however, since they are somewhat expensive.

Thanks. Please note that the images are currently watermarked. Once purchased the lines would not be there. Also, if you have the Guarantee logo as vector, please upload.

Could you expand the sky on the pic's so there is less grass. Also it would be nice to see the wording just above the top shelve. It is important to have this to scale so as to see the height of the shelves at 30, 38 & 46 inches, to get a feeling of how much green. I was also thinking we might have a look at a picture graphic that could be split in two so it seems to travel from one to the other, maybe a bridge or a group of runners. Just another thought. I do like the impact. The catch line should match our company logo. Thanks.

OffbeatDesign

Keep in mind that if I move the grass down that the figures' feet would be cut off by the shelf which would look odd. You would want a complete picture above that first shelf. The shelves are in place to scale.

LouAnne Knopp
03-20-2008, 08:18 AM
Oh, I thought you had mentioned that these were not to scale. It seems that there is just too much grass. I am open to your ideas.

How far out do these shelves come out? If they're deep then what is behind the shelves won't likely be seen much, so you're better off keeping background elements there anyway.

LouAnne Knopp
03-20-2008, 08:57 AM
I would like to keep it light maybe some white background? I was thinking that the pic would be more of a continuation than a duplication. Can you move the wording down above the top shelve, maybe try duplicating or overlaying the words to give some movement or dimmension.

OffbeatDesign
03-20-2008, 09:03 AM
That one is not duplicated, it is a continuous shot. I'll look for a different picture.

Are we sure this is the right scale? the hieght of the shelves? try to fade the color instead of cutting it off. not sure about the pic's so far. We may have to go back to two lifestyle type pic's so as to indicate the types of products more than just a general overview. The accomodative and growing with the grandparent & kid. I like the wording pulled down but would like it to be a different font with one word lighter and one more bold. Really like our company logo to be more in the background than overlayed. Thanks, I appreciate the styles it helps alot to see the options.

OffbeatDesign

Yes, that's the height of the shelves. What would your two ideal images show?

LouAnne Knopp
03-20-2008, 11:56 AM
If we are going in the same direction the lifestyle pics one showing sport motion and the other for active older persons and kids. Maybe there are a few others that are simular. My concern is mainly the amount of green. Maybe fade it away.

OffbeatDesign

Great, here's the other one

LouAnne Knopp
03-20-2008, 01:09 PM
Is it possible to tweek the sky colour on the second one, the lighter one to match the first one. I noticed the man's shirt has a darker blue stripe as well?? So they look like they are on the same hill.

OffbeatDesign
03-20-2008, 01:12 PM
Sure. That's something that could be taken care of if I'm selected as the designer and the images are purchased.

LouAnne Knopp
03-20-2008, 01:37 PM
Can you change the catch line so it is not so plain block. Maybe italic with quotations. Is it possible to make it look like it is in motion?? or possibly a reflection concept. Also we need to tone down the 100% logo, it is to bright, overpowering. The wording looks good although it is still on the wrong pic's, it just needs to be reversed. Kids are growing and older folks accomodative. We also need to change the wording growing control to Pediatric Programs.
Lastly I noticed that the logo with these two pics is on the same side. It would be more balanced if the set up was opposite. Thanks, this is looking great.

Which logo are you referring to? The one on top? It's at about 60% now with the blue showing through. Thanks.

Thanks

This looks really good. Can you just make sure the wording on the top of both panels is offset and overlaps the same, as well as balanced. Also the company logo on the panel with the two persons is on top of his arm, I would perfer it to be set as a background then an overlay. Is this the same size on both?? Thanks Again

OffbeatDesign

Overlap is the same. Here's the logo moved off the arm.

Overlap is the same. Here's the logo moved off the arm.

A couple small things. Are all the words; professional, support, programs and solutions, the same size? It looks like the word, support, may be larger? Also in the 100% logo are the borders on the circle, inside and out, red or black? They would be better in black with red inside wording, to balance with the PFOLA logo on the other panel. Also are both these bottom logo's the same size? and it may just be my screen but do the ee's in guaranteed have a dark border like the other letters? They seem to look less bold, missing the dark accent. Just a few things for me to be certain of before we go to print. You know we are trying to have these two matching in these ways. Thanks again.

Just having another look. Please try to stager the wording on one panel in a mirror on the other panel. Again, thanks.

I'll make sure that the lettering is the same size. Before we proceed with any other changes were you able to find the guarantee logo in vector format?

Also, I'm still not working with the high resolution images. I can proceed with the above changes and purchase the images (additional cost is $20), but need to know that you're selecting these as the designs you intend to use.

Once selected I can proceed with further changes. Thanks.

These images look good. Did you have any others, simular, to show. The concept and everything else is all fine. We'll just tweek those few things. I would like to see one other option for the images, simular concept, just different people if that's OK. Thanks

You can look through istockphoto.com and see if anything else catches your eye. I searched and thought that these two worked well together. Keep in mind that finding 2 images that are both vertical layout with grass (to get a similar feel between the two), and enough sky for the logo is very difficult. You can also try a site like jupiterimages.com but images there cost about $400 each. If you find images you can send me the image numbers and I can see if they work in the layout.

I did look through istock and yes correct it is hard to find two simular pics to work with. We are not wanting to pay the higher cost for other images. I thought you might have some others handy. If not then lets go with these two and get the set up finished. I do not have anything else for the 100% logo. Let me know the next step. This is our first time working with design outpost.

Hi, Can you check to see if the company logo has been stretched at all. The globe looks a bit long. Also is the International lettering the same as the Othotic Labs Inc. Thanks, Just want to be sure. Do you send these files to my printer or do I??

OffbeatDesign
03-24-2008, 01:47 PM
Logo has not been stretched and the lettering is the same size. Once approved I can send you a link to a layered Photoshop file for each banner. Please note that the files are very large and you should send your printer the link to the files instead of downloading them yourself.

Also, please make the additional $20 deposit to Design Outpost for the photo files.

Thanks.

These are approved. Just to clarify. The lines indicating these shelve height will not be part of the graphic. Also how do I make the payment for the pics??

Jeff, Just having a final look, fresh eye's, We do want to make a change. On the panel that reads accom. solutions and Pediatric Programs can you switch the two so that the Pediatric is under the child and the accom. solutions is over the older guy. Lastly is it possible for you to make the grass both the same as the grass on the panel with the soccer player??

Hi Jeff, I just sent the artwotk to the printer and it seems we have the wrong crop size. There are two crop sizes shown on the templete. We need to use the inside dotted line not the outside bold line. Can you adjust this for me please. At this point the whole hand of the player is cut off and our logo is way to close to the edge. Also they are saying the file is a square format. Thanks

OffbeatDesign
03-25-2008, 12:36 PM
I'll resize. Unfortunately, their file said "safe viewable area" which is where you normally keep text and logos within. According to their file the crop area is outside the thick line, not within it. Give me a bit to get them resized.
