There are a few web templates that I would like to put up as a contest, but have limited skills with html. The host I use has a free cart program, is it possible to create a template that would be fool proof for a fool to set up & make changes to? I do have a wisiwig program - net objects fusion.
Please guide me on what I need to do. :(

Does the shopping cart use includes for the header and footer? If there is a file called header.htm and footer.htm it shouldn't be a problem to adapt a template to a set up like that.
Do you have a link to the shopping cart script or software? What is it called?

Palmer,
The cart is agora, Agora Cart is a free shopping cart program. Support can optionally be obtained through a mailing list setup specifically for Agora Users for a small fee of $25.00 per year. You can join the list by visiting: http://www.agoracart.com/
It looks like it is not updated as much as you keep up your site. If you know of a better one that doesn't cost an arm & a leg I would be glad to look into it.

The one I hear most people talk about using is osCommerce...
http://www.oscommerce.com/
A template contest would work with that. osCommerce is free open source software that runs on Linux servers. Personally I have never used it but I know it is very popular.

It is very very good!
Take a look at www.formulaframed.com and www.selectgreetings.co.uk two sites built with os commerce.
It can be made to look like any other site you wish, although you do need a bit of an idea in coding to pull it off. You could always pay someone to set up, install and make it look exactly like your template, posting a competition on programming outpost.
Just some ideas for you!
