Project Summary:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

What text should be included in the main part of the logo? None

What type of product or service do you offer? Cycling / Strength & Conditioning / High-Performance Coaching

How long have you been in business? 10 years

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity? A more professional image

What are your long term goals? To develop a professional cycling team

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer? Friday 4 April, 2008

Audience Profile:<o:p></o:p>

Please describe your existing audience<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
The business primarily caters to elite-level (National and State) athletes from different disciplines who are unaffiliated with the large sports institutes – that is, it caters to those athletes who do not have scholarships. We offer high-performance coaching to athletes of all disciplines, but particularly the athletic disciplines of cycling, running and swimming.

Who would you like to add to your audience?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
We intend to secure a large, long-term contract to develop a professional cycling team.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:<o:p></o:p>

What type of logo would you like?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
The logo should be a pictorial design that is simple enough to be recognisable in small print, or on difficult media such as clothing. I have a very specific design in mind – see below.

Do you have any colours in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
No. Feel free to use your own creativity here.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Yes. Since our two primary specialties are Strength & Conditioning and cycling, we want to combine these two concepts. We would like the logo to depict an athlete performing a resistance-training exercise (such as a squat, dead lift or Olympic lift) whilst casting a shadow that defines the form of a cyclist. Perhaps the dead lift will work best with this since the weight plates would cast the most similar shadow.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
The figure may be male or female but should represent the physique of a professional athlete. There should also be consistency between the physique of the figure performing the exercise and the shadow. We have no preference as to the position of the viewer or light source as long as the image is clear and recognisable.

Communication Strategy:<o:p></o:p>

What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business? As above

What is your tagline or slogan? We do not have one at present

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
We would like to be recognised as specialists in physical preparation for cyclists.

Where will your new logo be used? All stationary (colour and b&w), business cards and selected clothing

Competitive Positioning:<o:p></o:p>

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos? N/A

What sets you apart from your competitors? N/A

Targeted Message:<o:p></o:p>

State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company: N/A<o:p></o:p>

Hi! Here's my design based on your specifications. Thanks!:)

Thank you for your submission. The image of the dead lift is good, and the shadow of the cyclist is positioned well to be plausible as its projection.

Would you be able to try the following modifications?

1. Change the bicycle to a conventional modern road bike (diamond frame and non-solid wheels). The bicycle in the image is no longer legal with the UCI. Pedantic, I know - but important.

2. Try extending and/or skewing the shadow to separate and distinguish the two images slightly. They seem to interfere with each other a little too much as they are.

This would be much appreciated...

Thank you for your submission. The image of the dead lift and your choice of colours is good. Also, the position of the shadow allows the two images to be very clear.

Would you have time to try the following modifications?

1. Change the bicycle to a conventional modern road bike (diamond frame and non-solid wheels). The bicycle in the image is no longer legal with the UCI. Pedantic, I know - but important.

2. Try extending and/or skewing the shadow to make the wheels of the bicycle seem more plausible as a shadow cast from the dead lift figure (i.e. play around with the position of the light source).

This would be much appreciated...
