This (I think) will be the 10th logo contest I have held here at Design Outpost. This one is for a Landscaping Company I recently teamed up with here locally, below you will find the Q & A for what we are looking for. I look forward to seeing what your team can create! Once we get a few options I will provide pics of our work truck and trailer so we can see what it "would look like" in motion.
Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Hedges R' Us
What type of product or service do you offer?
We are a landscaping company where integrity is our best quality; along with customer satisfaction and dependability, we offer a large variety of services such as landscaping/lawn maintenance, design landscaping, sod placement, tree pruning, fence installation, concrete work and other exterior services available upon request.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2003
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Motivate people to remember us by name due to a memorable logo.
What are your long term goals?
To try to take over the world, one yard at a time. (Seriously what does this question have to do with a logo?) Long term goal would be to have a logo that will last throughout that long term, until our goal was reached.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
It would be nice to have this by April 1, 2008.
Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience.
We will have our logo plastered all over our work trucks and trailers, so our audience will be anyone who is driving on the roads.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Creative control is within the designer. Keeping in mind we are a landscaping company so there is no reason for sparkles or lame icons.
We need the logo for decals on our trailers and back glass of our trucks, work shirts, business cards, our website, invoices and any other business related items.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Once again keeping with the landscaping theme we will allow the full creative control to begin with the designer. Once we see the colors we like (or in some cases dislike) we will provide specific feedback promptly.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
We were thinking of a few ideas, but could not create the logo like we wanted it to look.
one idea...
Hedges
R'
Us
With "Hedges" curved and an outline of a tree around the words.
another was having a cartoon style Hedgehog holding an old style wooden sign that simply says "Hedges R' Us"
Those are the only ideas we had, but we are extremely interested to see who the designers would created for our name.
Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
The main thing is to have a logo that can be as big as the side of a 10 foot trailer, but at the same time look just as crisp on a business card.
What is your tagline or slogan?
"One Yard at a Time"
What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Professional company that can be trusted to maintain their landscaping needs.
Where will your new logo be used?
decals on our trailers and back glass of our trucks, work shirts, business cards, our website, invoices and any other business related items.
