(Admin code added by Palmer - 12150X)
We need a logo....company name "James C. McCulley IV, Environmental Consultants, Inc." or JCMECI for short. Started in 1990 as a one man operation and now up to eight and with nationally recognized environmental expertise.
Main concentrations are Natural Sciences such as wetland studies, habitat studies, rare plant and animal studies, forest studies, permitting, natural area restoration and creation.... and ...... Environmental Assessments such as Phase I Audits, underground tank removals, soil testing and clean up.
Our two major client types are land developers and government agencies. More work from land developers, usually evaluating properties before purchase or development, mapping features and then coordinating during development with permitting and mitigation.
More information at http://www.jcmeci.com or [admin edit]Private communication not permitted during the contest[/edit]

Penny...very nice...and from the land of Wilbur Buds!!
I like the concept and once in a while we do deal with the woodcock shown, but have yet to even see a killer whale.
Our colors from day 1 have been a darkish green, black and white.
Very nice work and very fast response.
Oh yes....it is Consultants not Consulting

WOW Eagle, another fast reply!!
I like the lettering but not the heart. Most of our clients are land developers and that makes us seem wimpy. We are strong and fight for our clients but also maintain a great relationship with the regulators because we are knowledgable, fair and honest.
The plants are good....maybe plants, bare earth and water in a similar situation.

Hi there
Yes, that's why I used a very strong and bold font to counteract the globe and heart...
I note your comments (thanks) and I'll have more for you very soon! ;)
Regards :)
Changed the colors... I hope it doesn't look like a killer whale, just meant to represent a generic fish...
Ah, yes... Wilbur Buds... yum

Hi...back again with some variations:
'IV' with just a hint of the botanical... B)
Two colors...cheaper reproduction costs than CMYK process

WOW That looks great eagle......how about with the other font that I liked or does that not work?

Hang on a tick and I'll try it! :)
Here!...
It works, but it does have an effect on the overall composition due to the height/width ratio of the letters...meaning that the text underneath is smaller in comparison to the first version (v3.0)
Two colours...cheaper reproduction costs than CMYK

These are all so great! I am extremely impressed!! I am going to choose at noon eastern time on Sunday 10/12....since I need to use the logo in a presentation next week.
When I started my business it was my name that was important. I have been trying to phase from my name to JCMECI to give more of a corporate identity and so I need that to be part of any logo.
Sunday night I am posting a second contest for another business I own....I hope all of you participate!!
Thank you again and good luck!

Also, I am not sure if there is a protocol for this but I really liked coredesigns egret design for use in less formal situations like banners, etc. Can we negotiate a price for me to ocassionally use this? Contact me!
