ADMIN CODE added by Jennifer 3NU63947PA2676035 PLEASE DO NOT DELETE!
March 27...Due Date April 12.
I need full-color door hangars, double sided, no rounded corners. My website scottsmithpainting.com will give you a general idea. I do have graphics for logo, my yellow-page ad, etc. for anything that needs to be incorporated. This project is for a Spring promotion, but I would love to have the ability to make it interchangeable for other seasons, if that's even remotely possible. (not a deal killer)
48hourPrint.com will be doing the printing, and if you let me know exactly what you need from them, I'll be happy to get it for you.

Hi, i am interested to work on this project...just waiting for the admin. code. Anyway, can you provide a logo in Illustrator or eps format? Also, would you like to use existing body text for the door hanger spring promotion or you would like some promotion coupon or discount message attached?
Thanks & Regards,

I do have my logo and elements from Yellow Page ad to be incorporated into project...so there has been some advanced work done. Hopefully that will help out

Hi, I may be interested as well but is there a prize amount?
Also does this mean you want the source files for an additional cost, or are you not sure yet ?

Shima
What is a prize amount and what is it for?
The project amount was missing from the thread and I added it.
To clarify Shima's earliest question, are you wanting editable (source) files in addition to the finished design file? If so, there will be an additional fee for those.
As is, you will receive uneditable files ready to go to your print shop.

I'm not a graphics guy but I'm assuming that editable source files would fit the bill to my first post about being able to create different hangers of somewhat different styles later?
Also, I can't find the link to upload attachments.

Hi Scott,
By rules of Design Outpost, i couldn't accept any private message or email for an open project. Thats why i have to paste the message below. Sorry for any inconvenience. I will post my first layout by tomorrow. Thanks.:)

I do want a discount type of banner or something incorporated into this project...there are some door hanger ideas in the miscellaneous archives...the "giveaway" is a free power-washing with full exterior job, ($400.00 value)...distributed to mid to high income neighborhoods, lotta techie types as we're close to Silicon Valley...I really like ads that ask a question which goes to a major benefit, which is then visualized graphically...it for now..

Like the spring idea.....flowers make it look a little too "girlie" for me..we need room for the bonus offer..the question theme I mentioned is more like you've seen an ad where it asks a question, then there's a picture of something that depicts either the solution, or sometimes even the answer itself...I'll look for example..
scpaintguy
03-31-2008, 02:38 PM
Just thought of an example..let's say "Joe" is your ficticious competitor. He just painted your house. With no warranty. The picture shows Joe peeling out down the street while the paint is peeling off your house...."Would you hire a painter without a warranty?" Something like that....and of course, in HUGE letters...10 YEAR WARRANTY on all exterior jobs. (call for details)...something along those lines. Spring is a great message also, if it can be tied into a major benefit to the consumer......

Hi,
The project scope is primarily for the design aspect, although designers may tweak your copy somewhat.
Please provide the designers the exact copy to use for the project, including special offers, contact info, etc.
Thanks!:D

Wasnt aware of that..kinda changes everything for me..guess I'm confused as to what "design" means..sorry..;so now what?
BlueCherryGraphics
03-31-2008, 09:43 PM
"Design" would be assembling the elements in an aesthetically pleasing way. :)
Supplying the marketing copy would be your responsibility - or at least the basic framework for the designers to go by.
For example, you mention a "Spring Promotion"...what promotion are you running? The designers need the text you want incorporated in the doorhanger, then they will layout that text with graphics in designing the item. As mentioned, they may tweak what you supply or add their own twist, but ultimately you know your target market and what message you want to send, not to mention what your promotion will be.
You will get more responses if you provide the basics for the designers to work with.

Ok, thanks..I have a much better idea now of what my responsibilities are...I will put something together today that's more explicit and I will extend the deadline if that makes it easier on folks....
scpaintguy

Spring promotion can just be the words "Spring into color with " followed by text withFREE as the heading, and then let folks know they get a free powerwash ($400 value) with every complete exterior paint job.
Other things I want too emphacize is the 10 year Workmanship Guarantee(maybe on some kind of banner)...the fact I'vre been in business over 30 yrs, all the logos for bbb and bank cards from my ad posted eartlier, my web addresss, phone #'s, etc. The promotion is valid till May 15,2008. That should get things started.

Greetings! Thanks for the project…
scpaintguy
04-04-2008, 02:58 PM
nice start! Let's see if we can emphacize the 30 yrs...and place somewhere nearer the 10-year war. graphic. Then on flip side we can eliminate text at the top, and either use that space for logo, or some other important message that has emotional impact.
Perhaps on front we can use some "spring color kinda graphic thing" (: that starts from the top of the graphic with the promotion in it and spreades upwards in all directions up and outwards....IF that can happen without taking away from the impact of the promotion itself.
Thanks for response.... forgot...we need to disclose that the promo ends May 15,,,"SO CALL TODAY!!!!!!"

Congrats! Ok...I would prefer the "free powerwash
part should pop more, maybe red ...and the "must reply by..." could be the other color.I'd also like to see the phone numbers a little larger..and I'm not sure I'm loving the yellow swipe at the top part. The word "FREE" needs to be larger..it's always an eye-catcher..

Front's good...lets get rid of some of the text in back....let's keep the "estimates free" line..maybe make that text larger(in case when someone first sees it and they are lookiing at the back only..there's something to perhaps compel them to look further, rather than just factual information)
That's stil gonna leave some room for something else to occupy that area. Maybe the paint cans from my yellow page ad? Just thinkin out loud, I'm open.
Only other thing I see is the grey background near the bottom of each side, text doesn't really pop with that..

Hi Scott, got question regarding your comment....for the back, u like to eliminate all text (motto, and the point description of your service) except the "Estimates Always FREE"? And for the bottom part, i could give a white background to pop all text, now i am using a transparency effect to show some grass background. Thanks.

I think if we put exclamation after free powerwash or spring into color (want your opinion on what looks best) we'll be done!

Hi Scott, I think is better to put it after POWERWASH cos i dont want the exclamation to stop the headline after the word "color"..."Spring into color with FREE POWERWASH!" sounds more complete. Please see revised attached. Thanks.

Sounds good. Ok, one more tiny thing (really)!
Can we make on the front "so call today" in red, bold text? And on the back, same with "about our committment" just the heading not the body of text. Then we're done!

Hi Scott, For the top banner, since there is already many red in the layout, i tried to use navy with a contrasting white text, see if you like. Also i replaced all images in high resolution. When you are ok with the final version, i will send you a link to download the high resolution pdf file for printer output use. Thanks.

so is this the kind of file that 48hrprint.com can print with? (that's the whole purpose:) ) i thought they need a different format. so i have to spend xtra now for what was in my original description? "48hourPrint.com will be doing the printing, and if you let me know exactly what you need from them, I'll be happy to get it for you."......from my first post. Just want to be clear that I have what I need.....
PROJECT COMPLETED AND FILE RECEIVED...great job!!

Hi Scott, The zip file is compressed and containing 2 pdf file (front and back) which is a common format for most printer to work with, i am sure printer is ok with this. Regarding the additional charge for the editable file, i mean if you need a file for future use (such as image or text editing), thats the source file, then you have to pay extra for it. For now, the zip file (we call it output file) i gave you is good to go for printing use. Thanks.
